A case of WP:R#DELETE #10, these ethnicities are each mentioned exactly once, in passing, in the target article. signed, Rosguill talk 18:33, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all. Based on searches I can tell you that on Wikipedia you can find that there are large populations of Irish and Haitians in Atlanta but nothing more significant than that and even that much is tricky for the English and Italians. Thryduulf (talk) 12:51, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This was an article about a Dutch consulting firm supposedly bought by Deloitte in 1996. I closed the AfD about the (entirely unsourced) article as a redirect to Deloitte, and wanted to mention the acquisition there, but couldn't find a source confirming the acquisition. As such, even the redirect is unsourceable and unhelpful. Sandstein 16:54, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Related to a previous discussion from April 2017, these were created via bot in order to provide redirects without diacritis for several Finnish Eurovision Song Contest articles (some of which have subsequently been blanked and redirected). However transliteration of these Finnish characters in this matter is not normal, and therefore the likelihood of these redirects being invoked is remote. Other redirects exist for these articles to allow for searching without diacritics.Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:32, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Bot-created redirects that tried to predict a navigation issue that appears to have never existed. Grk1011 (talk) 20:09, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

LYL[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. It has been established that this is an initialism for several minor things. Consensus has not solidified to retarget to any of those places, nor does there appear to be appetite for disambiguating. -- Tavix (talk) 18:40, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Soft redirect of an acronym that points to a Wiktionary list that doesn’t include it. 28bytes (talk) 03:11, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • REtarget to Strike the Blood II, where something called LYL is a story element -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 04:08, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as it is not present at the target and no good target exists (the IP's proposal does not satisfy me), and the abbreviation could be used to designate numerous things as it is only three letters. Veverve (talk) 04:16, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to LYL1 as a plausible misnomer. CycloneYoris talk! 07:14, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget For reference, back in 2006 when I created the redirect, the (uncited, but it was 2006, so that was far more common) gloss given on the original page was: `LYL : "love you lots"`. I have no objection to the redirect being removed at this point, although redirecting it to LYL1 seems better to me. JesseW, the juggling janitor 15:40, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Interestingly, the "love you lots" meaning is attested in quite a few published "Internet slang" books, for what that's worth: Google Books. JesseW, the juggling janitor 15:45, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • That's true, although I don't think that it's likely that people searching for LYL will be looking for the acronym on Wikipedia. I don't really agree with the redirect to LYL1, as it's not clear this is the primary topic for someone searching "LYL" on WP. Personally, I vote delete – but I'm open to persuasion. —AFreshStart (talk) 20:10, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Life-years lost. Normally it its abbreviated as YLL (years of lost life) but it can be abbreviated as LYL too like in this journal article --Lenticel (talk) 03:36, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - It could also be added as entry to the SMS language#Whole word or phrase abbreviation list (with appropriate reference(s)) or somewhere similar, and this could be pointed there (if "love you lots" is deemed to be the primary topic). — Godsy (TALKCONT) 12:16, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete to allow for internal search results given the various possible search cases above that fall short of justifying inclusion on a disambiguation page. signed, Rosguill talk 00:35, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hermy[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. In addition to a slight numerical majority for deletion, editors advocating for disambiguation did not make a clear case for why it would be appropriate despite the lack of full-title matches. signed, Rosguill talk 00:33, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Both a Google search and an on-wiki one suggest that this term is rarely used to refer to Hermione Granger, and frequently used to refer to a number of other entities, including Hermann Görring in Addie and Hermy and a character created by Stan Sakai. We could write a DAB, but I'm skeptical of that when we don't have any direct title matches. I favor deletion; the search results can take the lead instead. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 04:46, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • DABify per Drone Happy editing--IAmChaos 07:10, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. While a redirect to any of the 3 articles mentioned is possible, creating a disambig will be tough because of no title match. However, if someone had attempted to create a dab draft and it passed an initial review, then I would have gone with it. Jay (talk) 15:21, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per the consensus established at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 January 20#BSPN on ABC. -- Tavix (talk) 03:02, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all per nom. "BSPNews" would be a plausible redirect to "BSP News" if any of the several different things that search brings up on Google were notable, none of the others get even that close to being encyclopaedic. Thryduulf (talk) 13:03, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Liz: Per WP:RGUIDE: If a good-faith RfD nomination proposes to delete a redirect and has no discussion after at least 7 days, the default result is delete. Do you have a reason you think this needs additional discussion? -- Tavix (talk) 01:56, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, the only search results externally are from wikipedia mirrors. And I don't see this as a deletion nomination, so agree with the relisting. Jay (talk) 06:16, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
