This is a redirect from the subject's deadname. While it is verifiable with some digging online, it is not mentioned at the target article, nor should it be per MOS:DEADNAME. I raised the question of whether the redirect should exist in this scenario at WikiProject LGBT studies and didn't get quite as much of a response as I had hoped for, but the one editor who did respond, Gleeanon409, felt that in this situation the redirect should be deleted, and I'm willing to second that. signed, Rosguill talk 21:03, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Not mentioned in the article, and there is no obvious reason why it should be - a google search suggests there is nobody notable with this name. Thryduulf (talk) 22:16, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. The general consensus on deadnaming is that unless the deadname itself is notable, the name shouldn’t appear in Article Space. Lists and redirects are sometimes used as end-runs against the spirit of respecting people. Gleeanon409 22:35, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Don't deadname people. Asmodea Oaktree (talk) 17:29, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

任天堂[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. Early closure per WP:SNOW: nomination made in violation of block, almost unanimous opposition, clear applicability of a widely endorsed (semi)guideline. CycloneYoris, whether or not it is technically correct to call this a "speedy" or a "snow" closure won't change the fundamental issue: it is nigh impossible for this to pass. (non-admin closure)Uanfala (talk) 15:54, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is the English Wikipedia, so it's unlikely that someone could search for "任天堂" and expected to land at Nintendo. 2600:8801:2A80:2B68:8863:FE98:7C2:5804 (talk) 20:14, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, the nomination matches what I was going to write...........PKT(alk) 20:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:RFOREIGN, the native form of a topic is always a plausible search term. Nintendo is a Japanese company and this is attested at the target article. -- Tavix (talk) 20:32, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:RFFL. There's a fairly good connection between the target and the language this redirect in is. Hog Farm Bacon 21:12, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tavix. Thryduulf (talk) 22:33, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment IP blocked for block evasion.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:42, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tavix. Completely plausible redirect. J947messageedits 22:43, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 00:17, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Snow keep It is standard practice to redirect from foreign names. Probably also a bad-faith nomination, as evidenced by the mention of block evasion. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 00:39, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong keep, and withdraw this nomination. Nintendo's Japanese name is a plausible search term, as I've argued back at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 March 18#赤毛のアン, since it is a Japanese company. Plus, this redirect has existed since September 2006, and has been helping legions of people. By the way, I can feel another SNOWstorm coming... Regards, SONIC678 01:08, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Per WP:RFOREIGN, as the rationale does not apply if the language is reasonably associated with the topic.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:07, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 11:36, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Next Montenegrin parliamentary election[edit]

See Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 September 28#Next montenegrin parliamentary election, where an miscapitalized variant of this phrase was deleted. It was pointing to Parliament of Montenegro#Elections, though neither it nor the target of this redirect have any information about the next election. (The current target comes closer, with "2024" in position in the infobox.)

These "next" redirects are not forbidden, but by their very nature are prone to becoming out of date if they're not actively monitored and updated (cf. WP:CRYSTAL). Having deleted the variant, I recommend we do the same here. Pinging participants and closer from that discussion: Paul_012, Thryduulf, N2e, and Rosguill. --BDD (talk) 18:16, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of planets in Meteos[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. I think we can safely skip restore and AfD per WP:SNOW, noting that WP:BLAR is written to address the case of open disputes over whether an article deserves to exist. signed, Rosguill talk 19:16, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is simply no such list in the target article. If there was it would probably violate WP:GAMEGUIDE. Delete as pointless redirect. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 17:51, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Apparently this was an unfinished stub article that was nominated for speedy deletion per A1, then redirected. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 00:41, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Restore and send to AfD (or prod) per WP:BLAR. The article does not meet the requirements for A1 speedy deletion as the title provides ample context to identify the subject (although adding a sentence of introduction saying this and including a wikilink to Meteos would make this much more obvious). If this is kept I'm willing to put in the ~1-2 minutes work to tidy it up to that standard regardless of whether it is nominated for deletion or not. Thryduulf (talk) 01:14, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • This existed as a very brief article for a month back in 2009. This was a time when the distinction between Wikipedia and other, Wikia/Fandom-type of wikis wasn't as clear-cut as it is now. I doubt anyone could now argue that such a list would pass the threshold of noteworthiness, let alone notability. The target article is of GA quality, and even then it seems to have next to no content about the individual planets. It's not worth it wasting editors' time with AfD, though if somebody now immediately closes this discussion and slaps a PROD, I won't object. but please let's not have two heavy seven-day processes one after the other.– Uanfala (talk) 01:54, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • On second thoughts, I'm wondering if this wouldn't be eligible for WP:G12 – judging from what I see on the web, the descriptions of the planets in this article appear to be verbatim copies of the in-game descriptions, which I'd assume should be subject to copyright. The article doesn't seem to have any content at all in addition to that, so fair use doesn't apply. – Uanfala (talk) 01:59, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from an unelected political candidate to an electoral district that he once ran in, now subject to an WP:XY problem as he's now running again in a by-election, in a different district than the first time. In the unlikely event that anybody actually searches for him, both districts will come up in the search results anyway, so there's no need to make presumptive guesses about which set of election results is his "more notable" one.
