May 28[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on May 28, 2020.

Warworld (Transformers)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. No prejudice against recreation or restoration should this gain a mention somewhere. -- Tavix (talk) 12:49, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found since it points to a WP:Broken section anchor, but this is not mentioned at the current target or any of its prior targets. -- 2pou (talk) 17:19, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • There has never been a section "Warworld" on List of fictional spacecraft, so the current target is clearly wrong. Retarget to Transformers: Generation 2 (comics) where the craft actually appears. JIP | Talk 20:53, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I was considering closing this, but I wasn't able to find any mention of Warworld at the proposed topic and am thus uncertain of the suitability of the suggested retarget. signed, Rosguill talk 21:09, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • It does appear in the comic, the Wikipedia article just doesn't mention it. TFWiki has a full article about the ship, which clearly mentions it appears in the comic. JIP | Talk 21:30, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • Delete. There are a couple of mentions of "Warworld" in the context of Transformers but singling out one target would be confusing, and a reader is better served by Search. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:29, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • delete per WP:REDLINK. This is a song by a notable Filipino band called "Rizal Underground" which also has no article at en.wiki. --Lenticel (talk) 00:29, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Working Pearl[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 12:47, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. The only result Google gives me is a poorly-maintained, unsourced, fan-run wiki claiming it was an original title for the episode. I've heard of this rumor before but have never found any proof for it. Scrooge200 (talk) 01:52, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • But if some people think that, doesn't that make it a plausible search term? Therefore Keep unless there are ambiguity issues. A7V2 (talk) 03:20, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Not mentioned in reliable sources a Wiki is not a reliable source especially since the claim is unsourced and poorly maintained 🌸 1.Ayana 🌸 (talk) 10:38, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure I understand your rationale. By keeping this redirect no-one is claiming that the claim is true, but if, as the nominator suggests, they've "heard of this rumor before" then isn't it plausible that someone would think that's what the episode was called and so search for it and then thanks to the redirect find what they were looking for? A7V2 (talk) 13:11, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I mean I've only heard it on other wikis, always without a source. This episode is officially called Bossy Boots and it has a title card before the episode, and is called such on online streaming services and TV listings, so I think most people are going to be searching for Bossy Boots instead of Working Pearl. Scrooge200 (talk) 19:19, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you look at the history of Bossy Boots it looks like Wikipedia was one of the first places where this appeared back in 2006. And "most people are going to be searching for" is not a reason to delete a redirect. If it was, then that would be 99% of redirects deleted. I've never heard of this before, but certainly just taking a quick look at it it appears to be something which may or may not be true, but definitely is something that some people believe to be true, and so potentially they will search for it (and if it is true that some broadcasters incorrectly used this name then that's what they would search for). WP:RFD reason for not deleting number 5 is "Someone finds them useful". It's definitely plausible that someone might find this useful. A7V2 (talk) 00:57, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target, doesn't appear to refer to anything from this film. Mega Maid is a character mentioned at Spaceballs, albeit a rather minor one. I think that we should either redirect to there or delete the redirect. signed, Rosguill talk 20:20, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Euro F3000 Brno[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Auto GP. (non-admin closure) Mdaniels5757 (talk) 22:43, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

These were all created as articles for the 2004 races around June 2009, then converted to redirects July 3rd. Whether the articles themselves are salvagable or not I don't know, but they should have 2004 in the title. And for these redirects it's quite confusing having them target a specific season when most/all of the circuits mentioned hosted the Euro F3000s in other years so someone searching these titles is likely looking for a summary of all the Euro F3000 races at the circuit, so I suggest we delete them. A7V2 (talk) 02:25, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Further comment: Although I would still prefer deletion, I would definitely prefer retargeting to Auto GP than to keep the current target. My reason for deletion though is that they (especially for me, Euro F3000 Brno) come up as a search suggestion when typing in "Euro F3000" which wasn't a redirect until I made it just now, and I was of course very surprised when it took me to the 2004 article but I'm not sure going to Auto GP is that much less surprising. If someone actually wants to specifically find out about the Brno (etc) Euro F3000 races they won't find much at Auto GP. A7V2 (talk) 00:00, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak redirect all to Auto GP where there's a navbox at the bottom for all the circuits. Alternatively, redirect them to the particular circuit. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:14, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak retarget all to Auto GP. There they can navigate themselves to the specific year they may be looking for. I would be opposed to retargeting them to the specific cicuit per WP:RfD#D10.

Not mentioned in the target article, however according to this search, Wikipedia does have many mentioned uses of the word for different reasons. Looks like a dab page should be created. OcelotCreeper (talk) 02:10, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Can we soft redirect to wiktionary on this one? It sounds ripe for use in media, having been used in some books / media, songs, bands AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:25, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect to Wiktionary. It's a commonplace word in current use in British English; anyone who wants it to know what it means will find a dictionary definition more useful than an article which doesn't pretend to list synonyms for "nonsense"; it doesn't include e.g. "bollocks", "hogwash" or "piffle" either. There's nothing worthwhile to disambiguate: all we have is namechecks for one or maybe two WP:NN bands (in Glenn Porter and Slapstick (band)) and an art book by Ben Templesmith. Narky Blert (talk) 06:00, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Three Wikipedia articles mention the band whose name was "Tommyrot", namely Glenn Porter, Slapstick (band), and Thirteenth Step (band). The article on the band here was not AFDed, it was just written over by the redirect and then eliminated.  --Bejnar (talk) 17:43, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
