Thunbergjugend[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 13:58, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Literally "(Greta) Thunberg's youths" in German (and likely a pejorative riff on "Hitlerjugend", I can't find any evidence of usage in reliable sources and would suggest deletion. Note that this redirect was also created on frWiki and svWiki and in both cases appears to have been deleted. signed, Rosguill talk 20:29, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I agree; I too couldn't find a single source that mentioned it. Benny White (talk) 21:08, 24 August 2019

(UTC)

  • Delete It's an obscure word, apparently not in sources, not discussed with page regulars at Greta Thunberg or School strike for climate (including the redir creator and myself), and with the parallels to Hitler Youth probably pushes the bounds of WP:NPOVNAME and maybe BLP with which redirs must comply. FYI, the creator has also created another redir related to Thunberg which should probably also go. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 22:13, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bathons uprisal[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 14:01, 5 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ungrammatical form with multiple irregularities and almost no use history. It's not clear that Bato, (the name of two of the rebel leaders for which this conflict is named) is ever spelled "Bathon", and "uprisal" is a misspelling of "uprising". Actual English titles attested in the article include Batonian war and Bato uprising. I would suggest deleting this redirect and creating the other two. signed, Rosguill talk 20:18, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom, as a recently created, malformed title with no significant incoming links. I went ahead and created Bato uprising, which is mentioned in the article's lead. -- Black Falcon (talk) 03:26, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete, unnecessary redirect. This person is only known for being an Air Force spokeperson, who commented on the "Storm Area 51" event. Natg 19 (talk) 21:12, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per WP:NOTNEWS. Steel1943 (talk) 23:32, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Keep per WP:CHEAP. --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:19, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Textbook low-profile individual, i.e., "May have been interviewed by a major news source as a "mouthpiece" – i.e., as part of his/her job as a spokesperson for an employer, representing that party not him/herself... May have engaged in some major media/press activity or public speaking as a simple, non-self-promotional spokesperson employee for a company/organization." --BDD (talk) 21:24, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: WP:INVOLVED relist to close old log day.

  • Delete as WP:LOWPROFILE, unless she's the one presiding over the event. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:26, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. No other uses of the name on-wiki. NOTNEWS and LOWPROFILE don't really apply here, since the article is not about this person, she's just part of a larger, clearly notable event. While BLP does apply, the coverage here isn't negative and isn't anything that has not already appeared in mainstream media, so there's no reason to delete this on that basis. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 14:50, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • LOWPROFILE may be chiefly concerned with whether or not a person should be the subject of a standalone article, but IMO that doesn't mean it has no relevance here. Principles like respecting people's privacy should still apply. --BDD (talk) 18:58, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - A spokesperson, by virtue of their work, can be expected to make statements about a variety of events or incidents. Unless he/she becomes strongly associated with a particular event, it is a disservice to the person and to our readers to redirect their name to a single event. -- Black Falcon (talk) 05:27, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dūda[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was article created. -- Tavix (talk) 13:19, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Originally nominated at AFD by USER:Turaids, with nom statement of: ~~ OxonAlex - talk 18:56, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a misleading redirect, because dūda is a string instrument, whereas dūdas is a wind instrument. The thesaurus does say dūdas can also be plural for the name of the string instrument, but not that dūda can be the singular for the name of the wind instrument, because the name of the wind instrument is a plurale tantum. See also a a Latvian-English dictionary. Turaids (talk) 16:05, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Deleting it or writting a short stub on the string instrument with notes that this is not to be confused with that in both articles probably are best options. From history of dūdas it's obvious that this redirect was created due to user making error moving the original article in attempt to comply Wikipedia's naming guidelines and it then being corrected by me moving it back, not because anyone actually calls bagpipes dūda. ~~Xil (talk) 19:31, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone clarify what Dūda is then? We already have articles for Duda (Hungarian bagpipe) and Dūdas (Latvian brass/pipe instrument). Would be okay with stub article, but then we would need hatnotes to all the variants. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:54, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I did quick research - apparently it was a string instrument that hasn't really been preserved into modernity, but there are reputable 19th century descriptions, it's said to look simmilar to and often confused with bladder fiddle, but apparently it was less rigid and played differently ~~Xil (talk) 08:26, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
(Note. The Latvian DAB page lv:Dūda contains only two people and lv:Dūdas, which is InterWiki linked to bagpipes; no standalone article on either Latvian instrument.) Narky Blert (talk) 12:25, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Child sexual abuse#Demographics. In other words, keep and refine. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 03:32, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect does not target anything specifically about women offenders, defeating the point of the link.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  12:19, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
