This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on July 24, 2018.

IpponGUSO Noriko[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 00:49, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be vandalism or nonsense. The creator's only other edit was to redirect Hentai news paper to Mainichi Shimbun. I'm only not speedying this one too because I can't make sense of it. BDD (talk) 18:07, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I also can't make any sense of this: Google turns up no relevant results for this or any similar phrases ("ippon noriko," "ippon guso," "guso noriko"). Google Translate renders "ippon guso noriko" as "On the other hand, Noriko Norio", which hardly clarifies things. Neither "uppon" nor "guso" nor "ipponguso" appears in the target, and "Noriko" (a common Japanese given name) appears only as the name of a character once played by Iijima. It's hard to see how this could be useful to anybody. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:16, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:08, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • DELETE! The title makes no sense at all. Same reason as all the above. Hansen SebastianTalk 12:49, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Leah Guey[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. The discussion showed that sources exist that show the redirect title is the legal name of this performer. However, there is also consensus to endorse the removal of mentions to her legal name from the article due to WP:BLP concerns, with the consequence that this redirect should be deleted as well. Deryck C. 10:24, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, is this the real name of this performer? Not sure, neither of her parents had the last name of Guey. Doesn't appear to be the name of a partner or child. No mention in target article. Onel5969 TT me 14:30, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

From original research, it seems it is the last name of her stepfather (as found from her mother's obituary [1]). And from original research it also appears to be her legal last name. Not that Facebook is a reliable source but there is this [2]. I am not opposed to removing the redirect, since neither of these would be considered credible sources. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 22:25, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Her name is also referenced in the book Beyond Monogamy: Polyamory and the Future of Polyqueer Sexualities ([3]). And here is a family biography on her stepfather's dentistry website [4]. (again, original research). -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 22:32, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment It really depends on whether you believe the Facebook account is legit. If so then Bella Blue has self-identified as Leah Emily Guey back in 2013 and should probably retain the redirect. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 07:29, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I can't find any reliable sources that mention both "Leah Guey" (or "Leah Emily Guey") and "Bella Blue". It seems very likely that this is her legal name, or a name she uses, but in the absence of reliable sources we can't mention that in the article, and as long as the name isn't mentioned in the article the redirect is unhelpful and potentially confusing. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:08, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment I believe the legal name was mentioned in the article and another editor removed it. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 18:55, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • They were right to remove it per WP:BLP: "Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion." – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:31, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Arms & Hearts. On the balance of things, the value of this as a redirect isn't very high even if it's correct (the subject is known under her stage name; even if the real name gets reinserted into the article, it's still quite obscure and not how readers are going to search for the article), especially weighed against the potential damage if it's somehow wrong or otherwise harms WP:BLPPRIVACY. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 00:17, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

M Sajas[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was restore article without prejudice against sending to WP:AFD. Deryck C. 10:25, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Does not appear to be any mention in the target. Onel5969 TT me 14:11, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Let me know, why the page M Sajas redirected to Ayaal Njanalla? He is an independent scriptwriter in Malayalam film industry and I have provided all the reference links along with the article. Please fix the error. Jithinrajtk (talk) 14:13, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restore article without prejudice to AfD or prod. This was an article submitted in good faith that was boldly redirected without discussion by GSS (with the edit summary "per WP:TOOSOON and fails WP:NACTOR, WP:CREATIVE"). It is inappropriate for RfD to delete content in this manner, especially as the last article version would not be speedy deletable. Thryduulf (talk) 23:47, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I redirected this page per WP:ATD-R as I found it non-notable by WP standard. At the time I redirect this page I didn't notice we already have an article on Mandharam due to different spellings in the article so let's restore the article as Thryduulf suggested above and nominate it for deletion per the notability guidelines. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 05:28, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @GZWDer: Could you summarise the LTA case for those of us who can't read Chinese? I think some more information would be useful here. In what sense is this spam? – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:02, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Arms & Hearts: translation of the top of the LTA case:
The vandal started being active in May 2012, calling himself "Zhu Ming" or "Zhu Zhe", and adds self-promotional content in the articles Zhu (surname), philosophy, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghainese people, and Chongming County. He describes himself as "a famous person in the world of painting & calligraphy and philosophy", and may insert spam links. He creates articles like new abstract Chinese painting and Chinese popular art, and stops other Wikipedians from deleting them and also makes personal attacks in edit summaries. He has made off-site attacks on administrators, and publicly declares that admins are "spies". He started vandalising Chinese Wikiquote on 12 April 2014.
"Zhu Zhe" mentioned in the above is precisely this redirect ("Zhu Ming" is the the other one nominated directly above). The sockpuppet category linked from the case, zh:分類:8181811b的維基用戶分身 (Category:Sockpuppets of 8181811b) has 154 entries. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 03:25, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Village Law[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was disambiguate as the most plausible solution. Deryck C. 10:18, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Previously nominated at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 June 2#Redirects to Consolidated Laws of New York that ended in a trainweck, the primary topic for "Village law" is Indonesian Village Law were I propose this is retargeted. A hatnote to the current target can be added there. Thryduulf (talk) 07:15, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging participants of the previous discussion: @Steel1943, Bd2412, and BDD: Thryduulf (talk) 07:17, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate. "Village Law" has up to now been redirected to Consolidated Laws of New York because it does, in fact, have a chapter with this title. Lots of places have villages, and probably more than these two have legal regimes specific to villages, known by this name. bd2412 T 17:57, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Do you have any examples? When I searched for this I found that the Indonesian law was the clear primary topic, with the New York law as a secondary and nothing else at all significant. Thryduulf (talk) 20:14, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • I would think, literally anywhere that there is are "villages". I will grant, however, that I can't find any clearly delineated uses to this effect, so I withdraw my previous comment, and will support retargeting to Indonesian Village Law with a hatnote to Consolidated Laws of New York. bd2412 T 23:16, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I have just created a stub Draft:Village Law (Turkey). Seems to be fairly notable (68,000 GHits in Turkey, plenty of them being newspaper articles and academic journal papers). I will work on expanding it. I'm rather uncomfortable with such a generic term being redirected to a specific country, similar to all the WP:INUSA stuff we deal with more regularly. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 03:43, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Local ordinance should be part of the solution here too, whether we want to retarget there and have a Village Law (disambiguation) or disambiguate at the base title, listing that page, Indonesia, New York, and perhaps Turkey. --BDD (talk) 14:37, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • The Turkey article does seem to be shaping up. bd2412 T 11:16, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: My sense is that this is trending disambiguate?
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, ~ Amory (utc) 16:26, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to Local ordinance, same as "town law" above, and for the same reasons. See BDD's comments under "town law". --Bejnar (talk) 22:05, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think Local ordinance is even less of a useful target here than for "town law" above as the specific meanings in Indonesia, New York and Turkey all having far greater claims for primary. With the content we now have about Turkey though I'm thinking that primary disambiguation is probably the way to go, this including local ordinance as a see also. • Disambiguate per Thryduulf's conversion and bd2412's original argument. I'll move the Turkey draft to main myself in a moment, it seems reasonable enough to me. Then we'll have a few uses, and while I think most enWiki users are more concerned with NYS law, I don't think that chapter qualifies for PRIMARYTOPIC. I'd include Indonesia, Turkey, the NY page, and perhaps Local ordinance. ~ Amory (utc) 21:03, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Village Law (Turkey) now exists, all credit to 59.149. I've also created a little draft of the dab should this go that way. ~ Amory (utc) 21:33, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: To allow more discussion of the two trending possibilities - disambiguate or retarget to local ordinance.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Deryck C. 10:10, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Given the vagueness, I'd rather that we disambiguate things. As stated above, there's really no clear primary target. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 00:10, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate per CoffeeWithMarkets, using Thryduulf's current draft. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 01:58, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target (though Zoltán Retkes is cited), so the reader who searches for this term (which, from the article history, seems not to be synonymous with the Hermite–Hadamard inequality) is left none the wiser as to its meaning. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 15:48, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
