The result of the discussion was retarget to Fist. Deryck C. 11:23, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So, should these retain their target (keep targeting Fist bump), or should they be retargeted to Fist? From what I'm seeing via third party search engines, it could go either way. (Consider me "weak keep" given I created these.) Steel1943 (talk) 23:18, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as clearly no one target is clear, per WP:EMOJI. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 19:24, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete obviously indefinite meaning.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:57, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - both are boxes on my screen. If the meaning isn't clear then we shouldn't have emoji redirects. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:42, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to fist because that's what they are. -- Tavix (talk) 16:06, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per my longstanding opposition to emoji redirects. We are not "emoji-pedia." If we continue down the path of creating redirects for emojis, then it is only a matter of time before readers will be able to use reverse image searches to find articles that correspond to the image. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:44, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • That is a silly exaggeration, not a reason to delete anything. Gorobay (talk) 21:09, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Fist. Some emoji are ambiguous, but these are not. They are clearly fists. They are not specifically fist-bumping fists: they are just fists. Gorobay (talk) 21:09, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 'Retarget to Fist per Gorobay, these characters are U+1F91C "RIGHT-FACING FIST" AND U+1F19B "LEFT-FACING FIST" making the correct target clear. 🤜🤛 (i.e. the two together) would be appropriate as a redirect to fist bump but not individually. Thryduulf (talk) 21:35, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Fist per Gorobay. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 03:44, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Fist: as the target encompasses, and links to, the alternative meaning of Fist bump. – Uanfala 10:27, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Finger dueling[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 03:41, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target article. Steel1943 (talk) 17:57, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Based on the article which was briefly at this location, "finger dueling" seems like something someone made up one day, and so unlikely to ever be covered in any capacity in the encyclopaedia. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:15, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak redirect to Finger gun as per what one of the YouTube videos is demonstrating, although this isn't notable enough to make it onto any RS articles. Alternatively redirect to Thumb wrestling as per this article. [1] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:27, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete indefinite target, could mean finger gun or thumb wrestling.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:58, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. As far as I can tell, the term "finger duel" does not appear in any article in Wikipedia. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:46, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is most likely a WP:FORRED issue, but I am unable to determine what language the word "ande" is. Steel1943 (talk) 17:53, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - apparently Hindi for eggs, as best as I can get from Google Translate. My clue is that the user who created this also created Anda Bhurjee (egg bhurji). However I don't think eggs are particularly novel to Hindi-speaking cultures, so delete per WP:FORRED. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:46, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, not listed in Indian cuisine and I don't see a List of Indian ingredients kind of article that would translate either common or special names for meats, vegetables, or eggs. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:45, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above findings --Lenticel (talk) 02:09, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per the above. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:47, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Eyren[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Egg. (non-admin closure) feminist 09:01, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that this is an English word for "egg", but does its meaning refer exclusively to eggs used as food? I'm not finding any evidence that proves that connection. Due to lack of evidence, I propose that this redirect be retargeted to Egg. Steel1943 (talk) 17:50, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - no clues this time from the creator's history. Wiktionary has eyren as a modification (pluralizing, probably: c.f. children) from Middle English eyre, which that page defines as "egg" but if you click through, the definitions given for eyre are vastly different meanings. This is unlikely to be a useful search term if the meaning of the word can't be reliably determined. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:54, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to egg per nom. Old way of describing egg [2] as with egges. [3] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:47, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Egg per nom --Lenticel (talk) 02:15, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Egg per nom and Angus. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:50, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target. Per third party search engines, Gameweaver (or GameWeaver) seems to be a small app development company with questionably notability for inclusion in Wikipedia. Steel1943 (talk) 17:29, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of gallantry and military service award winners from the Nair community[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 18:02, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Such a list, as referenced in the redirects, does not seem to exist at the target article/list. (Note: List of gallantry and military service award winners from the Nair community is a {{R with history}}.)Steel1943 (talk) 17:10, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete no such subcategory in the list. If this were a category it would scream of WP:SMALLCAT AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:20, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - it is a hangover from the Nair pov-pushing/glorification wars of several years ago. No useful function, as the nom and Steel1943 have indicated. - Sitush (talk) 20:07, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

GNU/Linux PC[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 03:42, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Linux PC (using the more common name) does not exist, anyways the target is misleading as it is not about a type of PC. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 04:26, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - at one time this was a redirect to Linux PC, a page which was deleted in 2007 because it was literally just a list of some specific computer models on which Linux could be installed. This was apparently a redirect to a redlink for 8 years before someone decided to retarget it. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 14:44, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Thanks for the background, Ivanvector. Yes, with the target article deleted, and no suitable new target, this redirect should go, too. --Mark viking (talk) 20:06, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom and Ivanvector. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:51, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
