Implausible spelling PRehse (talk) 11:28, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It is plausible for me. I didn't know how the name is written in English and was looking for the guy in few ways. --Petar Petrov (talk) 11:31, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Petar Petrov is the one who created the misspellings in October. This one hasn't had any notable number of hits since then until this RFD. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:52, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Phonetically correct misspelling of a famous person's name. Unless there's an actual notable "Harvey Winesteen", this seems fine. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 08:28, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Patar knight. It's plausible that someone would hear his name and not know how it is spelled. -- Tavix (talk) 20:29, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: plausible misspelling. – Uanfala 11:42, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

implausible spelling - or an attempt at being pointed. Either way it should go. PRehse (talk) 11:25, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It is plausible for me. I didn't know how the name is written in English and was looking for the guy in few ways. It should stay, redirects consume no resources and can only guide people to the target.

Adding Whine is more of a BLP pejorative for the "whine" that would have to be shown in reliable sources that show the name is pronounced like that. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:18, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete not phonetically correct (his name has no /hw/), potentially insulting, and the correct spelling is already the first suggestion by the search engine if you type "Harvey W". Any one of those three factors alone might not make a strong case for deletion, but when all three of them come together ... 59.149.124.29 (talk) 01:20, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Due to the wine-whine merger, this is phonetically correct for the majority of English speakers... -- Tavix (talk) 01:35, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I was about 83% wrong. Still, even speakers with the merger appear unlikely to use "whine" as a phonetic spelling for an unknown name. Judging from Google Hits, "Whinestein/Whinesteen" is rare compared to "Winestein/Winesteen", and most of the time intentionally derogatory as well. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 08:52, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. This may be a phonetically plausible misspelling, but "whine" carries inevitable WP:BLP implications that make it inappropriate. And at any rate, even if somebody doesn't actually know how to spell Weinstein, Harvey Weinstein is the very first autocomplete option in the list as soon as somebody has typed the W, so the typist will already have gotten there without having to guess at whether the next letter after that was an h or not. The "wine" forms are less problematic, and I'd have supported keeping those if I'd gotten here before they were closed, but this has a potentially insulting undertone that isn't mitigated by its moderate plausibility for some users. Bearcat (talk) 00:51, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as implausible enough on account of the h: it's sensible to have redirects from common, plain or phonetic misspellings to a more intricate or unusual name, but not the other way round. – Uanfala 22:43, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible for it is a middle + last name combination of Taylor Elizabeth "Tae" Dye, a search for this name reveals most prominently a fashion designer in Oregon whose notability is questionable. Delete per WP:R#DELETE 2 (confusing). - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 10:09, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support per above as creator of the redirect. Boleyn (talk) 10:13, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete, nonsense. Not in article, probably a relic of a confusing sequence of page moves connected to the entry below. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 06:06, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 20:03, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as confusing. This redirect, which was moved from "Katanga Lion", is I think a misspelling. "Katana lion" in Google indicates a searcher might be more likely to want Katana (sword). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 05:52, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as confusing at best. Also quite disappointing to know that it wasn't a sword wielding feline. --Lenticel (talk) 00:19, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete no activity on this since the May 2017 move. Katanga lion already exists. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:58, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Frivolous and unused. Nestlé does make an instant noodle product called Maggi, but it's technically not a Purina product. Clarinetguy097 (talk) 04:12, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I get the joke but this is a really obscure synonym at best. I can't find any Purina products related to ramen. --Lenticel (talk) 00:21, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment surprisingly, this nickname appears in print: [3]. In any case the current target is no good, that print usage refers specifically to instant noodles. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 00:29, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as WP:NEOLOGISM. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:53, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as obvious joke. Just because one person uses it as a joke doesn't mean it's notable enough for a redirect. Smartyllama (talk) 16:24, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
