The result of the discussion was keep. Thryduulf (talk) 20:21, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently only used to promote a WP:NOT#DICT/WP:NOT#OR article. Be..anyone (talk) 23:59, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep Unless I've misunderstood, the promoting part aside, that sounds like a problem with the article and not the redirect. How does this redirect "promote" the target, it looks like nothing other then a perfectly plausible redirect to me. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 06:50, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - seems like anyone searching for this term is looking for the article they get directed to. WilyD 09:35, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pepsi Coliseum[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Pepsi Arena. (NAC) Armbrust The Homunculus 06:57, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pepsi Coliseum should be redirected to the arena in Quebec now (Colisée Pepsi), because the arena in Indianapolis is a) not currently in operation, being closed for renovation, and b) doesn't have Pepsi in its name anymore pbp 22:12, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate or retarget per nom -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 07:37, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to the dab Pepsi Arena, which includes "Pepsi Coliseum" uses as well (though a split might be a good idea there). --BDD (talk) 17:17, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Kaiperambalur[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 17:17, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There was also an additional change from Kai Perambalur to Kaiperambalur. Google Maps displays the place as "Kaiperambalur" but accepts "Kai Perambalur" as identical when typed in in the search box. Bing Maps displays the place as "Kai Perambalur" but also accepts searches for "Kaiperambalur". Therefore, I would assume that both names are valid and that we should choose one of them and have a redirect from the other one, as we currently do. --Stefan2 (talk) 23:28, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Not needed. TitoDutta 01:46, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete and salt clearly this is being abusively recreated. -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 07:39, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Next generation consoles" redirects[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

These redirects are speculative and subject to WP:CRYSTAL. Wikipedia is not a source for speculation, and we don't know if there will be any next generation consoles ("next generation" referring to the generation following the current). See also the RFD for "Next gen consoles". Heymid (contribs) 13:49, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • KeepRetarget/Delete/Neutral Keepretarget the first one to History of video games, delete the second one, neutral on the third. We can have sourced material about the next generation, and the history article would be the appropriate place for it. If that sourced material includes comparisons and are in our article, then the third one is reasonable. The second redirect, about the Xbox is not reasonable, that requires WP:CRYSTAL knowledge that the next Xbox will be called Xbox and will exist. However, new videogame consoles are always being produced, so the first one isn't very crystal, since we should be able to find sourced material to support some new iteration of something. -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 07:53, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • My point is, we don't know about the future. For example, we don't know whether Sony is currently working on a new console, a PlayStation 5, and/or a new handheld etc. I believe it's not Wikipedia's duty to speculate about the future. I also feel that the term "next generation" is too subjective; some refer to it as the current generation of consoles (the eighth), others refer to it as the future generation of consoles (the ninth). Heymid (contribs) 09:04, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • The right place to point "next generation" and "comparison" would be History of video games. Whatever someone's subjective view of what next generation means, it'll be part of that article. Whether the next gen is PS4 or next revision Ouya, it's part of the history of videogaming. Sorry about being unclear as to what I was meaning on the first redirect. -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 12:05, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per previous outcome of Next gen consoles. --BDD (talk) 17:17, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Page titles with "next" or "upcoming" in are never a good idea as inevitably they will soon become out-of-date. 5.70.112.176 (talk) 22:45, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
