December 19[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion on December 19, 2007

Confrontation (game)Confrontation (Rackham)[edit]

The result of the debate was Redirect to Confrontation. JERRY talk contribs 23:54, 25 December 2007 (UTC)>/small>[reply]

There are two games called "Confrontation", disambiguated from the main dambig at Confrontation. No mainspace links to the redirect. Chris Cunningham (talk) 19:05, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect to Confrontation. If someone's looking for one of the games, this will be the most useful page for them. Toohool (talk) 00:41, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • But do we keep orphaned redirects around on the odd chance that someone will link to them in the future? It's not a common name for the subject. Chris Cunningham (talk) 00:57, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yes but not because we think someone might ever deliberately make that link. We keep them because they document the pagemove and pagemoves are generally considered useful history (see the "keep if" section at the top of the page). The redirects point the prior editors and readers to the new location for their contributions and tends to prevent the accidental recreation of material when users who used to know where it was now find a blank page. We keep them because even though you've orphaned the link today, the old version is still in history and might be restored (as part of a vandalism cleanup, perhaps). And in part, we keep them against the probability that someone made an external link to the page. Unless a redirect is actually harmful or confusing, they are generally kept. That seems appropriate in this case. Rossami (talk) 02:53, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect. Not only does this contain history, it doesn't satisfy any reason to delete (once redirected). —Toby Bartels (talk) 21:52, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brother BratBrother (1997 film)[edit]

The result of the debate was Converted to article. -- JLaTondre 17:47, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

These are two distinct films, they should not be linked Sevenarts (talk) 12:41, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Then (assuming you have reliable sources on which to base the article), overwrite the redirect with content about the other film. There is no need to delete the redirect from pagehistory in order to create the new article. Rossami (talk) 02:54, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • This would be safe to delete. But I've used the Internet Movie Database to write a stub. —Toby Bartels (talk) 22:31, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
