This non-free image is stated to be used to "show one of Disney's most prominent child actors in the 1960s" in the article on The Walt Disney Company. The image is not the subject of significant sourced commentary nor would its removal be detrimental to a reader's understanding of the article. Fails WP:NFCC#8. Also note that this is one of there images illustrating Disney child stars, and the other two are free images. Whpq (talk) 18:02, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Disney Strike.webp (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Kaleeb18 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This non-free image of picketing as part of the Disney animator's strike is claimed to be used for " visual identification of the object of the article. The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this work." which it obviously is not since it used in an article about The Walt Disney Company and not an article about the strike. The image is not the subject of significant sourced commentary. The removal of this image does not detract from a reader's understanding of the strike. File:Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse.jpeg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Kaleeb18 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This non-free image of Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie is claimed to be used for "visual identification of the object of the article. The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this work." which is obviously not true as it is used in the article about The Walt Disney Company. Anybody needing to see an image of Micky Mouse in Steamboat Willie can do so by clicking on the link to the Steamboat Willie article. This usage is an example of WP:NFC#UUI point 6 on unacceptable image use examples. Fails WP:NFCC#8, and WP:NFCC#3a. Whpq (talk) 18:26, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment I also want to note there is this file as well that I just stumbled upon File:Steamboat-willie.jpg while looking through the Mickey Mouse article (It seems to also be used in Walt Disney). Can this file be used instead of the one that is being discussed for deletion? ― Kaleeb18TalkCaleb 18:58, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment -I am surprised this image is not used in Steamboat Willie, it would seem like it would fit perfectly. I also do want to note the image is less than two years away from becoming Public Domain, presuming copyright law does not change again. (Oinkers42) (talk) 14:39, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No need for fair use because we should be able to make our own table. Ixfd64 (talk) 22:32, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can see the point of replacing the image with a table, especially in terms of accessibilty. Would there still be a reference to the original source? Qxv (talk) 10:53, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and we should keep a link to the source. Ixfd64 (talk) 16:58, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Textbook WP:NFCC#8/WP:NFTABLE violation. No prejudice to restoration if the article is significantly expanded to explicitly discuss these images in-depth -FASTILY 00:06, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please see c:Commons:Deletion requests/Burwell and Burwell photographs of U.S. coins. These files all have metadata indicating they were created by a private contractor; they are not public domain in the United States. Those that have some non-free use justification should be kept and updated, and those that do not should be deleted.  Mysterymanblue  05:29, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep all Licenses have been updated accordingly for use in Wikipedia. Reywas92Talk 13:50, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Reywas92: Respectfully, most of these are not used in accordance with WP:NFCC as they are not used in any articles. Maybe you can try to find some appropriate use for them, keeping in mind that policy?  Mysterymanblue  17:46, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will place them in American Women quarters to replace the sketch versions and better illustrate that article. Reywas92Talk 17:52, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
