Original – "Portrait of Dr. Gachet" (1890), was one of Vincent van Gogh's later works (the artist died in July that year). Paul Gachet was the doctor who took care of van Gogh after the artist had been discharged from an asylum. Van Gogh wrote to Paul Gauguin to describe the doctor's face, which he thought carried "the desolate expression of our time". He was so taken with the doctor's look, he painted an earlier version.
Reason
Because it's a van Gogh – and a good one too
