The result was delete. tragic, but not notable enough to be encyclopedic. ♠PMC(talk) 22:38, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

With respect to the victims or people who knew them, this tragic event does not meet notability guidelines. I believe the following passages are relevant:

  • An event that is a precedent or catalyst for something else of lasting significance is likely to be notable.
  • Notable events usually have significant impact over a wide region, domain, or widespread societal group. An event affecting a local area and reported only by the media within the immediate region may not necessarily be notable.
  • Notable events usually receive coverage beyond a relatively short news cycle.

No indication is given in the article that this resulted in some societal or legal change. No sources are offered from outside Ohio which might also indicate this is notable. The articles cited all date from the time of the event.

I would add that this event doesn't seem to have been given a specific name like "Ohio Ambush". I'm sure there have been other events where such a name would apply. 331dot (talk) 19:38, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete It goes without saying that this was a tragic incident but it is also one that has no lasting encyclopedic notability. No coverage beyond routine and local coverage. WP:GEOSCOPE applies here: "An event affecting a local area and reported only by the media within the immediate region may not necessarily be notable".
