Doesn't appear to be a substantial rivalry. The two schools have a very limited history with each other (were only Big 12 conference for a little over a decade in separate divisions). Cited sources also use the word "rivalry" hesitantly. funplussmart (talk) 21:31, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Not finding the needed depth of coverage that we should have for a true rivalry. Passing mentions not enough, especially since other factors weigh against this being a notable rivalry: (i) semi-regular play limited to the period 1996-2010 (four earlier games, zero later games), (ii) lack of trophy or named rivalry, (iii) limited marquee match-ups (zero games with both teams ranked in top 10 and five games with both in top 20), and (iv) lack of geographic proximity (not border states, 820 miles from Lincoln to Austin). • Delete largely per Cbl62’s argument above. Fails GNG with very little SIGCOV of this meeting as a “rivalry” or notable series. Though they have a handful of top-25 meetings and played in three Big 12 championships, two teams simultaneously being competitive for any stretch of time does not make them rivals. • Delete: This rivalry has had some occasional passing coverage over the years, but mere mentions and questioning whether the teams are even rivals at all does not lend to notability. User:Let'srun 03:25, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: per forementioned reasons above. Tumbuka Arch (talk) 10:51, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: fails WP:NRIVALRY. The only notable reference--the NYTimes article--doesn't even mention the word "rivalry". Owen× 16:08, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
