Article PRODded with reason "Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases. A Google search gives 73 hits, most of them issues of ths joornal in Google Books, but no in-depth independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG." Article dePRODded by creator who posted a justification on the journal's talk page. However, those arguments are based on a misinterpretation of NJournals, so the PROD reason still stands. Hence: Delete. Randykitty (talk) 20:18, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

- @User4edits: Are you able to point to any relevant notability guideline to indicate that this journal meets it? WP:JOURNALCRIT doesn't enjoy the status of being a subject-specific notability guideline (SNG), but WP:DEL-REASON#8 gives policy-based reasons to delete articles that do not meet any of the relevant notability guidelines. In other words, can you point to the SNG(s) that this article's subject satisfies and/or can you provide evidence that this passes the WP:GNG? — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:45, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

- Merge to National Geographical Society of India. That is a good solution, as the article currently contains no secondary sources that are independent. I did find a 1972 article in LIBRI ranking NGJI as the 50th periodical title in the world in a quantitative analysis of periodical articles on geography and their distribution (yes, "periodicals" and not "academic journals", so the list includes magazines). But I've gone ahead and added that now to the NGJI section on the NGSI page. Cielquiparle (talk) 15:56, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
