The result was redirect to Beşiktaş J.K.. I don't see a need to merge at the moment, but this will leave the history accessible if needed, or if Beşiktaş J.K. is expanded to cover all sports and a separate football article is warranted. --BDD (talk) 13:51, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Keep, but... The Galatasary articles Galatasaray_S.K. and Galatasaray S.K. (football) are justifiably separate because the former is not entirely about the latter. The former is about a club with a stable of sports teams of which Galatasary S.K. (football) is one. The problem here is that Beşiktaş J.K. is entirely about Beşiktaş (football club). That is, the problem article is Beşiktaş J.K., which should be about the broader sports club ie the group of teams. Judging by the French version, there are other Beşiktaş teams in other sports. I know my suggestion is not entirely within the remit of this AfD, but it does seem like it addresses the real problem. OsFish (talk) 07:55, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete without redirect with current wording "Beşiktaş (football club)". If there shall be a redirect, it shall be Beşiktaş J.K. (football), likewise Fenerbahçe S.K. (football) or Galatasaray S.K. (football). Legally, these clubs are foundations/associations as an umbrella which cover the companies those managing departments, e.g. "Beşiktaş Futbol Yatırımları AŞ" (lit: Beşiktaş Football Investments Inc.), which contains the football department. Based on this criteria, the football department of the club is not a separate "club", it's rather a department of the club. Thus, if there will be a redirect, it shall be Beşiktaş J.K. (football).
