- I mainly do anti-vandalism, but if I see errors that I know are false, I usually fix them.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- While I've only been here for a few months, I've been doing lots of anti-vandalism work. These make up (probably) 95% of my contributions.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I'd like to help stop repeat-vandals, and help keep WP a better place for real contributors.

- Somewhat extensive, I have reverted blantent vandalism, and I am currently involved in a more complex situation with another user via RfC.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I am a part time Unix administrator and I have a good grasp of understanding IP abuse and protocol (being that I take care of abuse situations at work), I would like to bring my experience and expertise to the response team.

- My main area of activity is Account Creations and en-accounts IRC. While working ACC I've become familiar with IP ranges and blocks, by no means am I saying I know all about them, but I think I have a basic foundation. I have never been blocked, I've reported users and IP addresses to AIV numerous times. I also do regular article edits ie. fixing links, spelling and so on. I honestly feel my edits, contributions and demeanor are in good standing.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- The vandalism I've dealt with very often involves "Rollback", "Huggle" and "Twinkle", I have been highly active with those areas and tools. I also have rollback rights on Simple Wiki, but nowhere near the same edit counts.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I would like to help out with "repeat vandals", and continue curbing and reverting vandalism.

Answer: I originally knew it as "Wikify", I don't know every rule of the top of my head, but I can recognize when article is in poor condition due to "wikimarkup". - Most of my contributions involve either doing maintenance tasks, fighting vandalism using Huggle/Twinkle or creating accounts for the account creation team. At the account creation team I learnt how IP ranges and blocks work, and also learnt how to understand WHOIS reports.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- I have rollback rights here, and frequently deal with vandalism using Huggle and Twinkle.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I would like to help out here to fight vandalism. I think that I would be helpful for abuse response because I can write in a number of different languages (English, French, Italian and some Spanish).

- I essentially try and prevent vandalism that I see on the various threads I view. Most of such corrections I've done before making a user-name, but I definitely feel the need to officially join and help out as much as I can.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- I am relatively new in regards to official abuse response, but I consistently corrected mistakes, however small, when I see them on Wikipedia articles. Since I've benefited from the resources and content offered on Wikipedia countless times, I feel the need to give back in a professional and effective manner.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- As I mentioned earlier, I have greatly benefited from the abundant plethora of information that Wikipedia has to offer, and so I would definitely likely to help out. I've realized that such accurate and usually reliable information is a privilege I take for granted because there are others monitoring Wikipedia abuse, and I would like to be part of that project.

- Well, I started back in December, and started off primairly as a vandal fighter, gaining rollback rights. I frequently use a combination of Huggle and Twinkle to revert, warn and report vandals. Recently I have started to branch out into other areas, for example SCV, AFC and am trying to revive WP:BEDS. I have a clean block log, have never been given any warnings,and have never acted un-civily.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- I've been on Wikipedia nearly half a year, and have a good knowledge of polciies on vandalism, cp infrigment, blocking and other that are relevant to Abuse Response.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I've filed quite a few abuse reports in the past, and would now like to give something back and start helping out, and I think Abuse Response genuinley does deter some vandals from vandalising. Therefore, I would love to be part of it

Acather96, according to this, 74.63% of your edits are done with automated tools, which means that you have around 2000 manual edits. There is no article I have worked on that I would say I was particularly proud of, though I am currently trying to get Battle of Dornock up to B-Class, an article I re-wrote. However, as mentioned above, I am the current co-ordinator of WikiProject Bedfordshire and am trying to revive the project. I have created an assessment page, a welcoming page,a project barnstar and this and this template to help with project member organisation. - I'm currently working on getting George Washington to GA Status, I am also a member of the Guild of Copy Editors, WikiProject Politics, Articles for Creation and Deletion Discussion. I've made mistakes but I've orrected myself after and have learnt from them I have rollback and reviewer rights and have experience with UAA and AIV, although I once reported a nonexistant user by accident >.< I'm friendly and approachable I've been in a position of trust on many other websites prior to Wikipedia so I do have experience in this field.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- I've been given rollback rights, I've warned and reported a few IPs and vandals as well. I understand the procedures and policies for dealing with such on Wikipedia and do adhere to them.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I want to help the community, Wikipedia has a great community and we learn from each other which is one of the best ways to do so.

- Well the ISP does provide an IP Admin and Abuse Response email, but I don't think that's relevant. I don't really know outside the ISP, if I were an admin I could ban a certain IP range if I know for certain the users from that IP range are all problematic then I would type 12.130.11.* into the block control panel then any IP beginning with 12.130.11 would be affected by the block/ban but since IPs vary from area to area only the IP range banned would affect users from a certain area. - I'm well aware of that, no I'm not only joining for userboxes.... that's not even a valid reason as to why I joined, I do actually use rollback and I have reviewed many articles some of which were re-reviewed many more times. I made considerable edits in George Washington, when I nominated DirectHit for DYK I was unware the hook was missing citations of which I later added. I haven't contributed much and I'm joining all these WikiProjects PURELY because I want to help out. I've overextended myself and made mistakes... often at the same time but that doesn't stop me from learning from those mistakes and doing better. I wanted a second review because Diego Grez didn't really give me a satisfactory review not that I blame him since I was unclear with my original review statements. - I have contributed to Wikipedia through various edits and have successfully started 5 articles; however, I have gravitated to fighting vandalism with thousands of edits related to fighting vandalism.

- As previously mentioned I have thousands of edits pertaining to vandalism. I have even been given the Rollback user privilege. I am a member of the RC patrol and have a very intimate knowledge of the processes that surrounds vandalism response.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- I believe I have the knowledge necessary to perform the duties of an investigator for the abuse response project, this leads me to believe that I would fit in perfectly with the duties of an investigator and most of all I would love to help as it would be fun and fulfilling.

- 12.130.11.180 is registered too TD AMERITRADEbank, I'd contact their ISP's (ATT)Abuse contact which is [email protected].
- The IP is actually registered to TD Banknorth, not TD AMERITRADE. Additionally, the primary contact would not be ATT, instead I would first contact the abuse handle for TD Bank, NA. - I've not made many contributions to the main space, other than fighting and reverting vandalism. I've also done some patrolling and such. Editing wise, well, I'm working on cleaning up an article or two when I find one. I also have done some work at AfC, and SPI. I'm also an active helper in the IRC.

- I'm active in the Counter Vandalism Network, and have seen my share of abuse.
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- Maybe do some good! (As for understanding of Whois, and IP... I have my associates degree in Network Engineering. I think I'm qualified for that :P)

- I mostly revert vandalism. I'm a reviewer and rollbacker, I generally patrol pages with pending changes, and then when there's nothing there, I watch over new pages, and recent changes.
- What experience do you have in dealing with vandalism on Wikipedia?
- As I said, I have rollback and reviewer permissions. So I've reverted lots of vandalism, and I calmly warn the user who vandalized. (Which is where a lot of my contributions come from.)
- Why do you want to join the abuse response project?
- Well, that's an easy one! I'd like to continue reverting vandalism, and making Wikipedia a better place!

You seem like you are off to a great start, and seem to be an optimistic and willing contributor so far. That being said, I am concerned that you may be taking on too much, too soon, whereas you have only been contributing for about a month. Abuse investigation is a complex and demanding activity and requires a very high degree of trust. After you gain more experience, I would certainly welcome your nomination again. Regretful oppose. I agree with Thorncrag. I would like to point out that Abuse Response does not revert vandalism. Abuse Response is the last resort for dealing with users who have vandalized and abused Wikipedia for along time. This position requires a great deal of trust, as we deal on a regular basis with sensitive information, and we also make contact with the users ISP. I'm sorry, but in my opinion, you just aren't quite in a position to join this project yet. ANowlin talk 01:12, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
