American Spelling Discussion[edit]

Re: Your discussion on the Lasagne talk page. So pointing out the sheer irrationality of American spelling (lasagna for a dish made of PLURAL lasagna sheets, pedophile instead of paedophile when pedo- means feet) means the REST OF THE WORLD should grow up? This is Wikipedia and therefore open to all discussion; do not presume to tell others what is childish and that we are not allowed to question one English-speaking country out of several. There is no excuse for your jingosim. 78.144.216.188 (talk) 22:27, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Ciara[reply]

Your edits on Talk:Aryan[edit]

They are a bit confusing in that you are replying to year old posts, and in one case you've put your reply in between 2 year old posts so that the 2nd seems to be a response to you if the reader doesn't notice yours is dated 2008. And remember, talk pages are places to discuss improving the article, not to discuss the subject of the article. Thanks. dougweller (talk) 22:12, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I moved my replies where they were causing confusion as to who was talking to whom, so as to keep some semblance of chronological order on the talk page. Wormwoodpoppies (talk) 22:30, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that. dougweller (talk) 22:34, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:53, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Setts cobblestones.JPG[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Setts cobblestones.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:00, 6 January 2011 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:00, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Setts_cobblestones.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Setts_cobblestones.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 02:35, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider applying a copyright tag to this image. I know it seems a bit overwhelming when the "bots" start to spew forth canned messages, but there is some good intentions here. Wikipedia depends upon being able to use free content to further its mission, and unfortunately many images uploaded in the past (and still are I might add) were copyright violations. I understand you took this image yourself, but what is needed is to add a copyright licensing tag. That is best done with your account for the licensing to be confirmed.
All that is needed is to add a simple "template" to the page displaying the image such as something like {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} (with the braces) into the image. Even something just in text like "I want to release this image to Wikipedia under the terms of the CC-by-SA license" is perhaps sufficient if you are having problems with templates. From that, the proper "tagging" of the image to identify the terms you want to use can be applied.
BTW, I like the image on a personal level, as it really illustrates part of the article Cobblestone very well as some setts which have been exposed due to poor street repairs. It is for this reason I'm urging you to complete the licensing of this image to preserve this image for others to see this same principle. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact me on my talk page or to contact some of the other discussion pages listed above. --Robert Horning (talk) 12:06, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
