Recent edit reversion[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. ~~~~ S Philbrick(Talk) 22:37, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, CAPP-USA was founded by Pope John Paul II, so it has all the official teachings of the Catholic Church. I've cited everything I added onto the wikipedia page. Is there a reason it's copyright claimed? Woodworker97 (talk) 16:56, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've added citations to each piece of copy I've added. Is there a reason why it's considered copyrighted if I'm linking to the source? Woodworker97 (talk) 16:54, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Catholic Church and abortion. Please stop copying and pasting what is on the sourced link. What you are doing is a copyright violation! 🛧Midori No Sora♪🛪 ( ☁=☁=✈) 04:12, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I've reverted some of your contributions which seem to be excessively, and solely focused on adding links to capp-usa. It's spammy as hell and quite annoying. If you could explain the apparent singular focus on this single website, that'd be great. Other than that, I'd ask that maybe you refrain from further attempts at inclusion of this particular domain for the time being, and maybe diversify the material and areas you contribute to. Thanks, and Happy Trails! -- dsprc [talk] 04:36, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. CAPP-USA was founded by Pope JP2 and has the official teachings of the Catholic Church, which is why I'm linking only to them. I understand it can seem spammy though, so I could lower the amount of additions I add. I just wanted the source to come from somewhere legit, and CAPP-USA is one of the most legit sources for Catholic teaching! Thank you for keeping the pages un-spammy though! Woodworker97 (talk) 16:53, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm willing to accept this rationale. Reliance upon this single source is excessive however, and such usage should be avoided.
That said… the actual content being supported by this source, is highly problematic. This for example does not meet WP:NPOV. Such statements require attribution, must be presented as a particular position or opinion of a particular party, and may not be presented as matters-of-fact. That's only a single diff… there are numerous others which are even more problematic, and that's likely why you've been blocked. -- dsprc [talk] 00:37, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
