image tag

Greetings,

I just uploaded the Image:Damadian invention.jpg which is quite useful for two articles that I used it on. However I am not sure if the tag is proper or not, considering the information I have given about the image and its source. Would you please double check that there is no other better tag that I have missed? Thanks.--Zereshk 21:22, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I changed the tag to {{PD-US-patent}}, which seems more accurate. --Wikiacc 21:29, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

the box template thingy

Greetings,

1. About the Univ. of Tehran template, I was wondering that why is it then OK for other schools to be using their school logos on their user boxes? See:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/United_States

2. If they are all wrong as well, then at least can I use this image in the box template? :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:UT1.jpg

and btw, I dont know if it is appropriate to put a fairuse tag on this one, since the emblem is over 1000 years old. No one has a copyright on it, even if it is claimed by Tehran University as a logo.--Zereshk 01:10, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

According to policy, no fair use images are allowed in userboxes. This is violated by quite a few, and ugly things (RFC's, among others) have sprung out of it. The second image should be OK there, as it isn't really copyrighted (old image, reproduction is still PD according to Template:Pd-art). --Wikiacc (talk) 01:14, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Then I'll go ahead and use the second one. (It's actually more classy). :) --Zereshk 01:15, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Law section

Hi. I noticed that you deleted the Law section from Iran. There is also a Law section at Papua New Guinea, it was recently added. Do you have any suggestions what to do with it? Thanks. --Khoikhoi 00:39, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

The law section there could probably be removed, with the main article linked to from the Politics box or section, as law and government usually fall under Politics. --Wikiacc (talk) 01:01, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. --Khoikhoi 01:04, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Redirect, or not?

Hi, I've noticed that you removed the redirect on the Image:TV-14-V.gif page. the reason why I had it set up that way, is so that it could link to the appropriate article, similar to here. Not only so, but it is used in templates, in a few pages. in the meantime, I'll make a note on the page, while restoring the redirect, and we could work out a soloution. Re: your oppose on RfR

Quote: Why can't potential rollback-ees just become admins? Adminship is no big deal, is it?

My response: Yes, I am afraid it is. I once asked in the IRC Channel about going for an RfA, someone checked how many edits I had, and I was then told that if I completed an RfA at this point, most people would laugh me off the shelf. I have about 450 or so edits, and I have been told that in order to go for an RfA, I should ideally have about 1000 to 1500. The waiting time more than anything else is the obstacle to adminship, we need something to bridge the gap in the meantime. Rollback is just what we are looking for in my opinion. Thor Malmjursson 13:13, 28 January 2006 (UTC) Talk

Yes. That's part of the problem with RFA as it is now: everyone says adminship is "no big deal", but it is treated as if it were, especially when it comes to editcount and amount of time. I am afraid that RfR is not the solution to that problem; only an overhaul of RfA is. —Wikiacc 16:48, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Nazi?

How do you know that making something bold is Nazi. You made a big mistake. Iranians are proud of their heritage and having that in bold does not mean anything Nazi. That is a personal view of yours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.196.139.250 (talkcontribs) 02:18, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

The Nazi remark was simply a speculation on my part, as the word "aryan" is usually used in the context of Nazism. However, having the Aryan part in bold is not exactly necessary in an encyclopedia article (in fact boldface is used sparingly in most articles), even if it is part of Iran's heritage. —Wikiacc 20:09, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Image tag

Greetings,

Im not sure if I put the right tag on this image: Image:Persian art collage.jpg

Please advise.--Zereshk 23:03, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

That's tricky. The image seems to be fine GFDL, with the exception of the painting in the background. I'd suggest finding an older (PD) painting with a similar look, and using that instead. Sampling (especially for artistic purposes) is allowed by copyright law, but would probably fall under fair use, invalidating the purpose of the image.
See what you can find. —Wikiacc 23:10, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
I can do as you say, no problem of course. But I am wondering: considering that we are displaying it inside the Persian Arts Box at a 150px width, what if I re-upload a shrinked down version of the entire image from its current size to 150 px? Will the radically reduced size/resolution validate its use under a GFDL (or any other retainbale) tag?--Zereshk 23:16, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
...any news on the latter question?...--Zereshk 02:37, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay. I'd think if the image was shrunk so that no discernable unique traces of the painting are left, copyright could not be claimed on that part; however, IANAL, so it may in fact still be copyrighted. Ask some of the folks at WikiProject Fair Use, who have more expertise on the topic. —Wikiacc 20:10, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Ive just uploaded an improved version, the image is nearly 300 years old. But Im not sure about which tag, so I put both tags up. Thanx again.--Zereshk 20:57, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Your vote on the RFR poll

Hi, Wikiacc, you voted oppose on the requests for rollback privileges consensus poll, suggesting that people who would like rollback should just become admins instead - that being an admin is "no big deal". While I think that in an "ideal" Wikipedia, this would indeed be the case, I believe that over time standards for becoming an administrator have clearly risen. This is apparent by looking at the RFA system throughout Wikipedia's existence - intially, all one had to do to become an admin was just ask nicely, now we have a complicated procedure. A recent proposal on the RFA talk page for requiring at least 30 minimum support votes and a significant number of existing contributions was given some serious consideration. There is frequent talk of "bad admins slipping through the RFA net", and while you may not agree with that philosophy of adminship it is undeniable that the standards have risen.

Because of this, candidates who pass are already very experienced with Wikipedia. While this in itself is no bad thing, it means that for the month or so before they become admins they are not being given the tools an admin has which would help them to improve Wikipedia, by removing vandalism and performing administrative tasks such as moving pages. The qualities which make a good administrator are not determined by length of stay on Wikipedia or number of friends you have, but by personality and character. Time at Wikipedia only gives familiarity with the way things are done here. However, being at Wikipedia for an extra month doesn't grant any special insight into the ability to determine which edits are vandalism and which are not. This is why I believe that we should hand out rollback to contributors who are clearly here to improve Wikipedia but won't pass the RFA procedure because of their percieved lack of familiarity with policy by some Wikipedians. I think that adminship should be no big deal, like you, however I see just two ways to make sure Wikipedians can quickly and efficiently remove vandalism - either by all those who believe adminship should be no big deal involving themselves much more in RFA, or by supporting this proposal and giving out rollback to good contributors who have not yet been here long enough to become admins. We have to remember that our ultimate aim here is to produce an encyclopedia, and we should balance the idealism of "adminship should be no big deal" with the pragmatism of granting rollback to our best non-admin contributors. I would be very grateful if you would reconsider your viewpoint on this issue. Thanks, Talrias (t | e | c) 13:54, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi Talrias,
This issue is primarily due to flaws in the RFA system, along with a recent spate of wheel warring among admins. Adminship, however, should be "no big deal". Creating a separate rollback class merely addresses the symptoms, not the underlying problem. (See also my reply to Tmalmjursson on the same topic.) —Wikiacc 21:32, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
RFR is not intended to be a solution to the problem of RFA being a big deal. It's intended to be a solution to a much more important problem, that of vandalism on Wikipedia. It helps solve this problem by giving more good contributors access to the rollback privilege so they may swiftly remove vandalism - which helps people doing RC patrol which is one of Wikipedia's most tedious jobs. We should do all we can to make it easier for them. Talrias (t | e | c) 00:51, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

RfA Thanks!

Okay, this is perhaps a bit overdue, but thank-you for your support in my recent RfA! I passed with a final vote count consensus of (82/1/0), which was a lot of support that I really appreciate. I'll try to live up to the expectations; and on that note, if there's ever something I do wrong (or don't do right), please spit in my general direction. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 05:31, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

images...

Greetings,

The image Image:1(8).jpg is uncertain in its source. Please see.

Also, as to your request for verification about that Mashad tomb image, I remember I did take a bunch of pics from the tomb 2 years ago. Ive been sifting thru my slides but cant find that exact one (so far). If not mine, its an CHN (Cultural Heritage News agency of Iran) image. But I cant find that photo's link either. I uploaded that image quite a while ago.

My solution? Erase it. I'll upload another one of my slides of the tomb from another angle.--Zereshk 00:32, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

This image seems to have permission. What tag would best fit it though? Image:Metallic Parthian.jpg

Thanx--Zereshk 00:30, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

The permission doesn't seem to be "free enough" as it is for non-commercial uses only. We have stopped allowing such images as they may cause legal problems for our reusers (such as answers.com) and for us if we want to release Wikipedia on DVD or another format that would require charging money for purchase. It won't be deleted for now, as it was uploaded before the announcement, but it may, unfortunately, be in the future. Wikiacc ( | ) 20:41, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

help needed

Greetings,

I need your help again.

This time, I have a 2:27 minute mpeg (25 MB) video clip that gives a snapshot of Tehran University. I intend to upload it on Tehran University and Higher education in Iran articles. The video clip is made by the Public Relations Office of Tehran University itself. My father worked there. I think the videoclip will be very useful, albeit being very brief and only glancing.

To where do I upload it (is it just like an image)? And what about tagging? Does it need it, and if so, how?--Zereshk 23:28, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Problems

Greetings,

There seems to be a bot (or maybe a user?) going around messing up Iranian pages.

Basically what ends up happening is that you see many red links on Iranian articles, where they used to be blue.

It seems to sever links, or moves links, without moving the redirects. Or something like that. I fixed a lot of its errors on the Qom page.

It goes around deleting some articles too. I could have sworn we had an article on the city of Firouzkouh.

Also, someone is going around dumping way too many photos on Iranian pages. I'll attend to that. But the following photos dont have source info or have unclear tags. Please take care of them:

  • Image:Tehran wiki.jpg
  • Image:Tehran03.jpg

I think its the new user User:Arad.

Thanx.--Zereshk 21:44, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Note: One thing I found in many of these errors is that there seems to be some discrepancy going on in converting spaces to %20 or vice versa, or something like that. But that's just an observation. And I may be wrong about it.--Zereshk 22:00, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

That seems to be a problem. I'll see what it was doing at Qom and track it to other pages.
According to Special:Undelete/Firouzkouh (which should show the deleted history, unless Brion turned that back off) there was never an article there. If this bot, however, is deleting articles, that is a huge problem. Wikiacc (?) 20:28, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Image overflow in Tehran

wikiacc,

Im having some trouble keeping the number of images on the Tehran article bounded.

Someone has been uploading images there, and although he claims he took the photographs, evidence suggests otherwise. Consider the following example:

  • User:Behrad18n claims he took this photo: Image:Jordan(Africa) Street, Tehran.jpg
  • A person named "Arash Dejkam" claims he took the same photo here: [1]
  • User:Behrad18n then claims that he also took this photo: Image:Tehran subway.jpg
  • But then on another website, the same photo is claimed to have been taken by the administrator of that image gallery**: [2]
    • Comments by Shahram Razavi - Administrator of image gallery of Tehran pictures at World Is Round Website: I found the image in question (Tehran subway.jpg) at "answers.com" http://www.answers.com/topic/tehran-subway-jpg. And the reason I used it without any reference to the photographer is that the following information about the image was relayed on that website: "This image is copyrighted. However, the copyright holder has irrevocably released all rights to it, allowing it to be freely reproduced, distributed, transmitted, used, modified, built upon, or otherwise exploited in any way by anyone for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial, with or without attribution of the author, as if in the public domain." I thus reject the suggestion here that I should have claimed that the photograph in question was taken by me.

There are other examples too, I reckon. For example: Image:Tehran wiki.jpg Im not sure if it is legally represented. (and behrad18n is uploading stuff all over the place)

If possible, after cleaning up the uploaded images from the Tehran page by this user Behrad18n, please revert back to my last edition, and I will take it from there and try to decrease the number of images by exporting them to other more specific articles, so that we wont have this overflow again.

Thanx again.--Zereshk 00:49, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

That is a problem. I'll tag and/or delete as necessary. Thanks for alerting me. Wikiacc (?) 21:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Now he is replacing my images with other images. Can you rectify the change he made to Image:40sotoon.jpg ? The new image is not mine. And he continues to upload copyrighted material left and right.--Zereshk 07:20, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Iran

The more pressing point in my opinion, instead of getting the article imminently featured, is the problematic user Aucaman, who continues to vandalize the page, inserting a POV that "Persian Jews are a separate race" (i.e. not Persian).

This user is currently under ArbCom investigation for his obsessive attacks on Iranian articles.

Please tend to this if you can. No official body (CIA, Iranian govt, UN, etc), considers such nonsense ("Persian Jews are not Persian"). Thanx.--Zereshk 02:29, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Wikiacc,
Youre an admin. I cant keep up with the loads of untagged new images that keep getting added to the Iran page. We're already having a hard time trying to keep the page from losing its credible content and turning into a POV war by different users. Marking the questionable images for deletion is much better than reverting the article to an earlier edition (as I have been doing).
I leave the policing of the new images all in your capable hands. Thanx.--Zereshk 02:49, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Please stay by to handle the rest of the article, though! It's turning into a POV-rant mess! Wikiacc (?) 20:53, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Mount Damavand Picture

About the picture Damavand_in_winter.jpg, I do not know whether if Hamed Khorramyar is the photographer or not.

What is obvious is that he uploaded the same picture in http://www.4d.co.ir (a website dedicated to pictures). But in the same website, (http://www.4d.co.ir/hamed/details.php?image_id=1&sessionid=95dc9cabdd1012af7f09e7c45721ae9e) Hamed Khorramyar mentioned nothing about the copyright of the picture and also it's available for download to everyone. I will try to contact Hamed Khorramyar.I will appreciate if you can find his email for me. (King of Kings 19:38, 17 April 2006 (UTC))

By law, it is copyrighted unless it is specifically released into the public domain. If Mr. Khorramyar has made such a declaration, it is usually on the page--otherwise it is copyrighted. Wikiacc (?) 20:53, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Guys:

My name is Hamed Khorramyar and I am the photographer and copyright owner of Damavand in winter picture.

I saw your discussion on Wiki about the copyright. Hereby I declare all my photos in my both websites Photogallery one and Photogallery two can be used for non comercial use at www.wikipedia.org - I am happy to contribute a very small piece to this project. I am new to Wikipedia, so please guide me, should Arad erase the the picture and I upload it again? or how it works? Please reply in my own user discussion place Thanks.

This one seems to be a bug. It somehow disables images from being shown. Ive already spotted it on 5 or 6 pages. Example:

Iranian Azerbaijan

Hi there,

I just wanted to let you know that user, khoikhoi (MOD) keeps including the very offensive term, "south azerbaijan" on the Iranian Azerbaijan page. We should not let him post this propoganda and false information. That term has no place in an encycolpedia article. It is not relevent to the content. What a few seperatists call that region should not be shown here. If we dont stop this, people will start including the "a#abian gulf" as an alternate name on the Persian gulf page.

KhodahafesDariush4444 (User:Dariush4444) 04:21, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

I digress. The term should be included, if it is mentioned who exactly uses that term, and its relevance in the history of the region. Additionall, Khoikhoi is a respected member of the Wikipedia community, and known as not one to do something without reason. You imply that Wikipedia should take the anti-separatist point of view--we obviously should not.
Additionally, you're trying to incite a "call to arms" consensus-stacking campaign, which is always frowned upon here.
BTW, what does MOD stand for? Wikiacc (?) 19:18, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

I totally agree with Dariush444. It is absolutely and entirely incorrect to use the term "South Azerbaijan" when referring to Iranian Azarbaijan. The term "South Azerbaijan" is politically motivated. And as it refers to land that today is part of the Iranian national state, it would be highly biased to include this term in any information on Wikipedia other than describing the separatist ambitions/movement/activities of those elements / forces who desire to separate this part of Iran from the Iranian national state. It would be comparabe to the usage of the term of "The Basque Republic", or "The Republic of Scotland", when in fact those entities do not even exist. Furthermore, it is also important to point out that while the Azeris of the Republic of Azerbaijan spell "Azeri" or "Azerbaijan" with an "e" after the "z", Iranians spell it as "Azarbaijan" or "Azari" with an "a" after the "z". Thus, whenever we're referring to Iranian Azarbaijan or Iranian Azaris on Wikipedia, it would be proper to use the Iranian spelling version. Thank you. Shahram Razavi.

Ideally we would like this article to be restored or merged into the parent article, but before I go to appeal the deletion I thought it would be a good idea to establish on what grounds the article was proposed for deletion so that such issues may be resolved. Any insights or comments would be very welcome. DoktorDec (talk) 01:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the info. Is there any way that I could view the content of that article? It's quite likely that the tone did indeed conflict with NPOV, but I've been working on bringing up the standard of many of the articles within our scope. DoktorDec (talk) 21:21, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Request for image

Hello. I see that you have made various world maps for Wikipedia. I was wondering if you could make one for the Republic of China-Japan relations article. As you can see, it is missing a map to show where Taiwan and Japan are. However, I'm not sure how to make one. Could you put it on your "to-do list"?

Many thanks, John Smith's (talk) 23:05, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

And how do you do that without a header?

if you would like to link to a specific part of a page add a header ===header_name===; you can then get to that section at Wikimedia Foundation#header_name)

Because that looks tacky when you're reading down the page, I just wanted to link to a particular subsection, but without breaking up the flow of text.

Advice on Common rock densities

Hi, I'd like to know what to do when I encounter articles like Common rock densities. I can't find anything in the deletion policy saying it should be deleted, but it's orphaned, uncited, WP:listcruft, and useless as is for rock identification. Merging it into all the rock articles might be best, but since there are no references it'd be like creating it anew. Pro bug catcher (talkcontribs). 02:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

It seems to fall under WP:NOT#INFO. I'd say it should be merged into the rock articles, then WP:PRODded or speedied, but if you can find a better course of action, please take it. --Wikiacc () 11:49, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I'll find references and merge it into the rock articles when I have time. Pro bug catcher (talkcontribs). 13:19, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Deleted article to user space

Could you please move Senate Guards to my user space? I'd like to de-in-universe Emperor's Royal Guard‎ and hopefully merge the two into an article with some real-world substance. --EEMIV (talk) 13:18, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

user nouse4aname

the user nouse4aname has undo my edit 4 times with the last 24 hours so to aviod an edit war and to aviod violating the 3rr rule, i stopped editing the page, however i put the edit war warning on his page and told him since he undo my eidts 4 times he violated the rule, he then removed it from the page to make himself look like he has a better history so i added it back just now and that is where we are. he has a nack for customizzing the pages to his likeing, he will follow one rule thne dis obey another if he doesnt like it, he has been nothing but an annoniance since he started edited the used page, since he violred the 3rr rule and removed the warning i think u shud give him a band to teach him a lesson., i just checked and he removed the warning again so i will re add it again, the page he violted the 3rr on was shallow believer .... here is his talk page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Nouse4aname#used USEDfan (talk) 20:37, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I clearly explained to this user on their talk page why their edits were unnecessary and against consensus. I removed the template as I do not take kindly to such warnings being issued by someone with no idea about policy.Nouse4aname (talk) 20:41, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
the point is they violated the 3rr rule, aslo they stalk me on this site as seen here, and either undo and have a comment about every edit i make but worse thing is they stalk my every edit and them coming to ur page is proof. USEDfan (talk) 20:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
USEDfan, you are the one who has a history of "customizing" your talk page. I encourage Wikiacc to check the edit history. --Pwnage8 (talk) 21:53, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Articles needing copy edit (tentative name)

Hello there!

I have begun laying the groundwork for a new WikiProject that has a very simple goal, to improve Wikipedia by dealing with the articles tagged for copy edit, and I am wondering if you are interested in helping me start it. This project is not a clone of WP:LOCE because we will not deal with requests for review (that is currently handled by our good friends over at Peer Review).

I expect that this will be a relaxed, happy and casual WikiProject, because participants will be able to take things at their own pace and use the project page to ask other participants for help. The project proposal is here, and I have created an almost-functional project page in my userspace here.

There are now over 4000 articles needing copy edit, and very, very few people working on them, so any help, however small, is appreciated. If you are interested, please sign up at the proposal page. Once we have enough people, I will shift the project page, along with its subpages from my userspace into the Wikipedia namespace. For now we can use this section of my talk page to discuss the direction and details of the project, and, of course, its name. *grin*

New image project

Hi. This little form letter is just a courtesy notice to let you know that a proposal to merge the projects Wikipedia:WikiProject Free images, Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use, Wikipedia:WikiProject Moving free images to Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia:WikiProject Illustration into the newly formed Wikipedia:WikiProject Images and Media has met with general support at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Files. Since you're on the rosters of membership in at least one of those projects, I thought you might be interested. Conversation about redirecting those projects is located here. Please participate in that discussion if you have any interest, and if you still have interest in achieving the goals of the original project, we'd love to have you join in. If you aren't interested in either the conversation or the project, please pardon the interruption. :) Thanks. Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:52, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Danzig pronounciation

Olessi has not been active on wikipedia since September 2008, but from our past cooperations I still have his talk page watchlisted and might be able to answer your question.

The suffix "-ig" as in Danzig is pronounced differently in German. Standard High German requires it to be pronounced the way it is in the .ogg file, i.e. "-ig" as it is spelled. And there are many people actually pronouncing it this way. On the other hand, in the colloquial German of the North, an "-ig" suffix is often pronounced "-ich" just as you said. In the South, the "-ig" suffix is pronounced more like "-ish", in the Southeast the "i" is even dropped entirely so you get only a "-sh". But there are also regions where it is pronounced "-ig" in colloquial use also. Regards Skäpperöd (talk) 08:32, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for the clarification. This raises two further questions:
  1. The IPA pronunciation at the Gdańsk article doesn't match the recording: it has Danzig as [ˈdantsɪç] ("-ich"), not [ˈdantsɪɡ] ("-ig"). Which one should be used at the recording and the article? that depends on:
  2. What do the actual German inhabitants of Gdansk/Danzig actually say? One would expect colloquial North German (and very brief Internet research seems to confirm this: see this Nazi propaganda film, "Danzig" is pronounced at 1:02) but can this be confirmed?
Perhaps I'll ask on the article talk page. Thanks a lot though. --Wikiacc () 16:44, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

RE:China-United Kingdom locator maps

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Yes, it does seem to be. I don't think I was aware of your image when I uploaded mine. However, it seems pointless to have two near-identical images, so if you want to replace mine with yours and tag it with a speedy delete tag then I can't see a problem with that. --DWRtalk 18:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

WP:Hornbook -- a new WP:Law task force for the J.D. curriculum

Hi Wikiacc,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.
