Welcome![edit]

Hello, Welfonder, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Sue-Ellen Welfonder, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 19:39, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Sue-Ellen Welfonder without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Subjects do not have editorial control over the content of their articles. Further, if material has been published in reliable sources, it's hard to article that it's private/personal information. (However, there are some categories of information that wouldn't be listed in articles, but that's generally things like children's names and birthdates.)C.Fred (talk) 19:40, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Sue-Ellen Welfonder. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 19:50, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sue-Ellen Welfonder, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 19:51, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Sue-Ellen Welfonder with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. CAPTAIN RAJU () 20:00, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Sue-Ellen Welfonder. CAPTAIN RAJU () 20:03, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Two things. First, as I noted above, Wikipedia articles are based on published reliable sources. If it's been published somewhere else, it's hard to argue that it's too personal to be in an article here.
Second, we have no way of knowing that you are really Sue-Ellen Welfonder as you claim to be. Thus, it may become necessary to block your account to protect Welfonder's article until we have verified your identity. To do that, you would need to email the Volunteer Response Team. Instructions can be found at that link. —C.Fred (talk) 20:04, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you remove or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia again, as you did at Sue-Ellen Welfonder, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. CAPTAIN RAJU () 20:04, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

Please help me with... removing information I consider too personal to be posted on your site. Sue-Ellen Welfonder

Welfonder (talk) 20:09, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the information is sourced to Welfonder's website. It's hard to see how something she published, or was published in her name, could be demeed "too personal to be posted" on the web. —C.Fred (talk) 20:11, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, on first look, all information is backed up by a source. If you see information that is not backed up by a source, please point it out for removal. That said, since you are claiming to be Welfonder, please request removal on the talk page of the article. You should not be directly editing the Sue-Ellen Welfonder article, because as the subject, you have a conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 20:12, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Confirming what C.Fred said: you should request changes on the article talk page. There is useful advice at WP:Biographies of living persons/Help, and you can establish your identity by emailing info-en-q@wikimedia.org as described at Wikipedia:Contact us - Subjects.
