External Links versus References[edit]

When adding external links the majority of that link should be about the article that you are adding the link to. I.E., a site like to www.ford.com should be in the article on the Ford Motors Corporation. If the page that is being linked about many brands of cars, it should be used as a reference instead. Like Ford is a member of the American Automobile Manufactures Association. Your additions add ZERO value as external links. If you want to add a sentence about a person being a member of the Friars Club, and then citing with the club website, that is acceptable. As it stands now, most of your contributions are considered spam and the work of a Linkmonkey or a Spammonkey. Please modify your additions from external links to references. Otherwise I will revert all of them.

To add references see: Wikipedia:Citing sources

Images[edit]

SEE: Help:Contents/Images and media

1) Upload the image > Wikipedia:Uploading images (You might want to upload them at WikiCommons (recommended) instead. (This way they can be used at all Wiki sites.)

2-a) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Tag the image with the correct copyright notice > Wikipedia:Image copyright tags Wikimedia can't afford to be involved in any copyright lawsuits. (I recommend you look at several examples of existing images to get an idea.) Or, the image will be deleted. Wikipedia does not accept images that are licensed for "non-commercial" use, licensed only to Wikipedia, for which permission is required for reuse, or that do not permit derivative works to be created. There are several reasons for this policy, but the short version is that Wikipedia's mission is to provide free content and having images encumbered by restrictive licensing schemes runs counter to that mission. See also: Wikipedia:Image copyright help desk

2-b) If all of your images are part of one organization, the Friar's Club, send a letter on Friar's Club letterhead to the Wikimedia Foundation, saying something like: We, the Friar's Club of New York City, hereby release all contributed images to be used at Wikimedia Foundation sites, including WikiCommons, Wikipedia, et al, without copyright infringement.

3) How to insert and use picture in Wikipedia articles > Wikipedia:Picture tutorial

That should give a start. Thanks. IP4240207xx (talk) 22:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
