Since I liked your polite discussion with the deleting admin, and you obviously understand what needs to be done, I restored the deleted page to User:Wamaina/The Village Market. Yes i will join Wikipedia:WikiProject Kenya as I have seen there's so much that needs to be done to make our country known. You asked about where to post the draft for criticism. That's easy: Just ask the friendly folks at Wikipedia:WikiProject Kenya. To actually get it back into article space, it needs to be moved again, as Teratornis explained to me at WP:HD#Help With Deletion. It shouldn't be as hard as what Teratornis described, so you could try it yourself. Hi Sebastian, First thanks for your help in sorting out a deleted page. I have redone the page and removed any opinionated language by simply stating facts about this mall. I don't want to save it lest it is deleted again. Since the objection was on the tone of the article having too much advertisement i would appreciate if you would help me in determining if my redone article conforms to the sometimes difficult criteria in factual reporting. I tried the Kenyan Wiki paid but most users there, are not regulars and might not respond to my query in reasonable time. First of all, how do you expect to get a reply if you haven't even asked there yet? Just leave a message on their talk page. Then, please have some patience. It may take a week. In the meantime, I would encourage you to help out where you can. You know, you haven't done anything but that one article; since that is an article with a commercial interest, many people will suspect that you're only here to promote a business that you're associated with. So I recommend you create yourself a good reputation by helping out with Wikipedia:WikiProject_Kenya#Things_you_can_do. — Sebastian 17:47, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I was under the impression that the materials and articles were done by special people. However i definitely will start working on some of the things to do that I am familiar with. I am not associated with this business other than trying to make sure all shopping malls are represented in the Wikipedia. When I advised you above to write to one or two individual editors when you don't get a reply at the wikiproject, I did not mean that you should spam 3 editors right away. You haven't even posted the message in the wikiproject yet! What you're doing is WP:Canvassing, which in this case is not allowed. I have referenced an article on the 9th parliament in Kenya plus linked it internally. This is my first time at this and i will devote a bit of my online time to making a difference in the pages that need work done to them. I joined a long time ago, so don't know how difficult it is for people who are joining now. I can imagine it is more difficult, since we have experienced so much abuse that people have become very suspicious, especially when new editors start with articles related to businesses. I have been wondering how many editors are there in the Kenya project. Looking from the page i believe very few are active the way i see other Wiki pages. Somehow what happens if nobody answers ones comments?Wamaina (talk) 15:58, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm not familiar with that particular project, but it seems to have gained some recent members, so it looks alive to me. It is not unusual for project members to take some time to respond, which is why I recommended waiting a week. But you already got one editor helping you; Cycle~, who is very experienced. You don't need any more. I see that Cycle~ already wrote some things at User talk:Wamaina/The Village Market#Rewrite; you may want to ask Cycle~ if the article can be moved back once you're done addressing these. — Sebastian 16:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, that's easy! I just look at my watchlist. User:Wamaina/The Village Market is on the watchlist, because I created it. I set my preferences so that all pages that I create or edit are automatically added to the watchlist; I recommend you to to the same. Once a page is on your watchlist, you also see any changes to the corresponding talk page, which is how I saw Cycle~'s message there. — Sebastian 19:04, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money.
