Your GA nomination of Brymo

The article Brymo you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Brymo for things which need to be addressed. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Etzedek24 -- Etzedek24 (talk) 23:41, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

@Etzedek24: Thanks for reviewing the Brymo article. I am going to contact the artist's management to request a picture they own the copyright to. I conducted a CC search but couldn't find an image suitable to upload to Commons.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 03:28, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Coal Press Nation

Hi Versace. Please I need your assistance concerning an investigation I am undergoing. I have reasons to believe that Coal Press Nation was present at of the monthly WP Nigerian meetups. I remember you were the one that found out that he was engaging in paid editing that got him blocked in 2014. I also recall that your evidence was further substantiated by some off-wiki evidence. What I want to know is if you got a name to his promotional/paid editing social media accounts then. Per WP:OUTING if you know his name, just reply YES. You don't need to comment it here. Darreg (talk) 14:02, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

@Darreg: Greetings Darreg. Sorry for the late response. I haven't been very active on Wikipedia lately. Per this edit, CPN's name is Emmanuel Nde (I'm not sure if this is is real name). I just dug up the discussion from July 2014. You can read the full discussion here. Just scroll down until you see the heading "Conflict of Interest". Basically, I suspected that he was engaged in paid editing after visiting his blog and Twitter page. I didn't provide a link to his blog page in my post, but did include a link to his Twitter account. Unfortunately, his Twitter account is no longer on Twitter. I remember you having a problem with how I handled the situation, and even went ahead to convince him to put in an unblock request. I just found evidence that User:Obari2Kay is indeed User:Coal Press Nation. As I'm typing this, I am really shock to learn that Oluwa2chainz has been blocked indefinitely for sock puppetry. I can't believe he has been linked to Obari2kay. I am going to take screenshots of the evidence I have. I don't want to announce right this minute without backing up data to corroborate my claim. With regards to Oluwa2chainz, his IP address was also flagged in the past for supposedly having ties to Wikicology's IP range. It's just all confusing. I will need to respond to this later. I am falling asleep as typing this. Update: I found his blog. Here is a link to it.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 04:40, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
@Darreg: CPN had a different blog post back in 2014. It certainly didn't look like the one I provided a link to last night. Back in 2014, CPN was basically telling people to contact him if they are interested in having Wikipedia articles. I don't know if you personally attend the monthly WP Nigerian meetups, but if you do, you should be able to identify CPN by face. Emmanuel Nde is Coal Press Nation, and he has a Twitter page, an Instagram page, a Facebook page, an a Google + page.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 10:44, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
thanks for the reply. I'll be on the watchout for the name and face during our meetings. We can't have a blocked paid editor as an executive in our user group. Darreg (talk) 14:02, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

GAN -- Brymo

Hey Versace1608, I've gone ahead and passed your article per GAN standards. It was a really well-done article, and you expressed difficulty in finding an image, which was the only criteria I had found the article to be lacking in. Still try to find some images--but I don't see why it shouldn't be a Good Article. Cheers. Etzedek24 (talk) 22:59, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

@Etzedek24: Thanks for reviewing and passing the article. I am going to keep searching for images.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 16:22, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

Good Article Reassessment of Brymo

Brymo, an article that you or your project may be interested in, has been nominated for an individual good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:26, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Versace1608, it's been over two weeks since the reassessment was opened, and your sole edit has been to remove one of the sentences in the article. I'm afraid the article needs a great deal more attention than that. If you haven't begun to make significant progress in the next several days, I don't see how I can avoid closing the reassessment. I hope to hear from you before then. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:46, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
@BlueMoonset: Thanks for reaching out. I am going to make the necessary changes to the article as soon as possible.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:03, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

Del B Page

Hi,

I've followed Del' B since meeting him and doing a project with his team last year. Contacting his management to verify the information on his Wikipedia as I noticed some mistakes they confirmed errors in his name spellings and a few other details. The information they gave guided the last update added to his page so I would respectfully request that you undo the deletion of my last update to his page as this has the most up to date and accurate information.

Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Best regards

Laverne

Greetings Laverne. Thanks for reaching out to me. Please do not make edits to the Del B article moving forward. You are what the community considers a conflict of interest editor. Keep in mind that you can make edits to articles that you are not connected to in some way, shape or form. Wikipedia's WP:COI policy forbids editors from editing articles about themselves, family, friends, clients, employers, financial and other relationships. Wikipedia relies on information published in reliable secondary sources. Any information provided directly by Del B's management is considered a primary source. I am not undoing the revision I made to the article because the information you added were unsourced. Every information you add to Wikipedia articles must be backed by reliable sources. Please visit WP:REFB for help with referencing. Last but not least, please do not edit Wikipedia using multiple accounts. If you want to establish community trust, you will need to stick to editing using one account. Just so you know, improper use of multiple accounts is considered sock puppetry.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:06, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Adding a new page

Please.....can yu make a new page on kidi. ..the guy who sang the hit song with davido and mayorkun.."odo"...I wud love it if you did.

@Lharnee Bloom: I appreciate the effort you're making to create content on Wikipedia. Please don't feel discourage. Wikipedia can be a tough place for newcomers. I just did a Google search on Kidi and don't see him being discussed in reliable sources. In order for a topic to have a stand-alone article on Wikipedia, the article must meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. Please familiarize yourself with WP:N. Before you create any article on Wikipedia, you should do the following:
  1. Do a Google search of the subject you want to write about and pick out good looking webpages.
  2. Focus on newspaper articles and websites with sufficient paragraph and sentences.
  3. Work on creating the article in your sandbox before moving it to mainspace.
  4. Write the article in your own words in order to avoid plagiarism.
  5. Make sure the article reflects the content of the sources you find. The references you cite must support what you say.
  6. Stick to citing secondary references independent of the subject.
  7. Proofread the article before moving the page to mainspace. Alternatively, you can request for a Guild of Copy Editors participant to look at it once you move it to mainspace.
  8. Make sure the article you are creating passes WP:GNG in order to prevent it from being speedily deleted, or taken to WP:AFD.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:47, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Ice Prince Videography

Mind expanding the ice Prince videography list. It's not just by writing "ice prince has way so many videos" without adding anything meaningful to the article Aghachi7 (talk) 07:34, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

@Aghachi7: Please do not remove the expand list template from the article. The table is not complete. I appreciate the efforts you made to improve the article, but the table can still be expanded upon. I am currently working on other articles right now. Once I'm done with those, I will definitely create an article about Ice Prince discography.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 11:07, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Tiwa Savage and her Grammy "songwriter" nomination

While working on List of Nigerian Grammy Award winners and nominees, I wanted to add Tiwa Savage, but I am not convinced that Fantasia really recognized her as a co-songwriter. Please do you have a source to that effect? I'm not impressed with the depth of the Nigerian sources that are saying she was a writer. I am not doubting that she co-wrote the song, but it looks too trivial for me to include in the List of Nigerian Grammy Award winners and nominees article. It is fine in her article though, but I want to ensure that all the entries in this article are 100% accurate. The other FA in the list like Chimananda Adichie, Wizkid, Timaya and Kah-Lo all have references directly from the main artist or even credited on the grammy website that show that they were recognized as songwriters or FA. Can you provide a source either from Grammy or from Fantasia that show that Tiwa was recognized as a songwriter?HandsomeBoy (talk) 21:10, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

@HandsomeBoy: I don't believe that Fantasia's recognition of Tiwa Savage is relevant. What's relevant is the fact that Tiwa Savage is credited in the album's liner notes. Tiwa Savage's name can clearly be seen on platforms such as Tidal, All Music, and MetroLyrics. Upon closer look, it looks like writers are not part of the award recipients for the Best R&B Album category. Although this info is not sourced, the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album article states that "award recipients include the producers, engineers, and/or mixers associated with the nominated work in addition to the recording artists." If you can find a source to corroborate the claim that writers are not recipients of this award, then omitting Tiwa Savage from said article would be justifiable.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:52, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
The reason I was questioning the credibility was because the origin of that info was an unverified source in reliable Nigerian press, about works of a foreign artist. But with the new sources you provided, which is known to the international music world, I think I'm convinced that it is likely true, because if it was false Fantasia PR people should have taken it down. But can anyone like myself edit Tidal and All Music? HandsomeBoy (talk) 20:15, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
@HandsomeBoy: The Nigerian press is just going by what Tiwa Savage told them. She said numerous times in past interviews that she worked with Fantasia and is signed to Sony/ATV publishing. I don't know why you're having doubts about the whole thing. It's not like the info is fabricated. Tidal and AllMusic are not user-generated sites like Wikipedia or IMDb. This means that content on these sites, especially info about music credits, aren't edited by just anyone. Billboard magazine reported that Tidal started adding in-depth credits to millions of albums and tracks in November 2017. The article doesn't say how Tidal goes about doing this, but it appears that the music streaming service uses some sort of software to accomplish this. According to this webpage, the credits and liner notes you see on AllMusic are provided by TiVo Corporation. Having said all of that, it appears that songwriters are not part of the award recipients for the Best R&B Album award. According to this Forbes article, it looks like Album of the Year is the only album category that songwriters are eligible to win. I should also note that this change went into effect last year. I am saying all of this to say that you cannot add Tiwa Savage to the List of Nigerian Grammy Award winners and nominees article. She is credited as a songwriter, not as a recording artist.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:01, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Collaborative work to move certain articles to GA status

Hi. I recall you once notified Agachi on the prospect of moving Davido to GA status. Well, I just wanted to let you know that if that offer is still open, then I'm interested in any collaboration that will lead to the improvement of the quality of the article. As you may already know, one of my agenda as the coordinator of WikiProject Nigeria is to engage other members of WPJ Nigeria in increasing the number of GA articles. Since you already have experience with how GA assessment work, as you have successfully improved Wizkid (musician) to GA level, I was thinking you could give me vital tips on how to go about it on some similar articles. For now, I am looking at List of awards and nominations received by Wizkid, Wizkid discography, Davido, List of awards and nominations received by Davido, Aye (song) and Omo Baba Olowo. If you have any BLP, that you think will stand a chance with minimal cleanup, please do let me know too, so I can add it to my GA ToDo-list. Regards.HandsomeBoy (talk) 16:05, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

@HandsomeBoy: First and foremost, congratulations on becoming the new coordinator of WikiProject Nigeria. I am confident that you will do your best to ensure that the project serves its purpose. With regards to the Davido article, the offer is still open. I believe that we can work together to improve the article. Since Aghachi7 is also interested in working to improve the article, I have created a proposed draft for the Davido article. If you guys agree with the section headings, then we can go ahead and assign sections to work on. I can work on the artistry section, the awards and nominations section, and the lead section (which is a summary of the article's body). You can work on The Baddest section, the Son of Mercy section, and the personal life section. Aghachi7 can work on the Early life and Omo Baba Olowo sections. If you two do not agree with the sections I've assigned, you can choose another section. To avoid working on the same sections, we should notify one another about the sections we choose to work on. Please feel free to add info to any section at any time. Working on assigned sections shouldn't prohibit us from adding info to other sections.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 18:20, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words. With the inputs of WKPJ Nigeria members such as you, this pioneer tenure will be something we can all be proud of. I am perfectly okay with the dissolution of tasks. I'll wait for an affirmation from Aghachi7 before proceeding. Cheers. HandsomeBoy (talk) 18:44, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for responding. We can proceed once Aghachi7 agrees with working on the aforementioned sections. Everyone should feel free to complete their sections on the proposed draft page. In addition to the Wizkid article, I brought the Brymo article to GA status. I believe that some of the articles you listed in your previous post can be brought to GA status. Maybe you should create a section at Wikipedia:WikiProject Nigeria for articles needing GA work. I personally want to bring the 2Baba, P-Square, and M.I articles to GA status. Base on what we've both said, here is a short list of articles that can be brought to GA status:
I didn't include the Wizkid discography article and the Aye (song) article because I do not believe they can pass the GA criteria.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 20:29, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
@Versace, what's stopping Wizkid from WP:FA? Mahveotm (talk) 22:14, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
@Mahveotm: After looking at Wikipedia's FA criteria, I believe that the Wizkid article lacks "high quality reliable sources" such as book and scholarly journal sources. These kinds of sources hold more weight than newspaper sources. If you go through numerous FAs, you'll see the inclusion of book and scholarly journal sources.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 04:23, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
HI @Versace, Happy Sunday. I contacted Wehwalt, a notable FA contributor and he sees potentials for FA. He suggested some changes on the talk page which basically has to do with copy editing. I'm sure you're watching the article but said to drop a notice just in case! I'm also planning on writing my first GA article and would need your help with copy editing but that would be latter in the year when I've got enough free time. Regards, Mahveo (talk) 15:47, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
Hi. I'm game. I would have to go through the article to see sections I would love to work on though. Aghachi7 (talk) 14:27, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
@Aghachi7: Please go ahead and do just that. Just let us know if you want to do other sections apart from the ones I've picked for you. Thanks.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 04:23, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
I've already started making edits to the article especially his discography. I'll create an article for his second album "The baddest" also.Aghachi7 (talk) 14:39, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
@Aghachi7: I'm not sure you fully understand what HandsomeBoy and myself are trying to do. I assigned you three sections to complete. You told me that you wanted to go through the article and see sections you would love to work on. I think you're missing the point here. Instead of looking at sections from the current article in mainspace, you should be looking at sections from the proposed draft article I created. (The proposed draft article will replace the current article once we're done with what we need to do). We should all be working on adding content to the proposed draft page. Content we add to proposed draft article will be moved to the current article. Don't waste time adding singles to the selected singles table. That whole table will be removed once we create the Davido disography article. Please don't waste time creating an article about The Baddest. There is already a draft about it at Draft:The Baddest (Davido album). I don't think that album will see the light of day. Davido should have released the project, but put a halt to it when he signed with Sony.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 04:28, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
@Aghachi7: Just to emphasis what Versace has said, we need to work on the draft first. You can copy and paste from the main article to your section in the draft, but don't touch the main article for now (as regards GA editing). When the draft is perfected then then it will replace the main article. For now, draftspace only! HandsomeBoy (talk) 22:22, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
@Versace1608: First of all, whatever the case might be, you need never threaten me because you asked for my help. If you aren't satisfied with my input then I have stopped working on that Davido page. Simple. And do whatever you want with the Baddest article. Adios
@Aghachi7: Where in my post did I threaten you? I simply told you that I was going to put in a move request to have the article restored to its draft form if you did not do it. My apologies if you took that the wrong way. I still need your help Aghachi7. The three of us need to work together to improve the Davido article so that it can pass the GA criteria. I know you still want to help, so can you please choose two out of these five (artistry, awards and nominations, the lead, early life, and Omo Baba Olowo) sections to work on? HandsomeBoy has agreed to work on The Baddest, Son of Mercy and personal life sections. If you prefer to work on HandsomeBoy's sections instead, then I can assigned other sections to him.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:18, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

I really hope you both can resolve your differences, so we can come to an agreement. But just incase Aghachi7 remains adamant on not being part of the team to move the article to GA level, then Versace, I suggest we split it between ourselves, I'll begin work on my sections latest next week.HandsomeBoy (talk) 21:11, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

@HandsomeBoy: I don't have any problem with Aghachi7. He took the message I left on his talk page the wrong way. I have since apologized to him. Let's give him until the end of this week to respond. If we do not get a response from him, we will have to split up the sections evenly amongst ourselves. There are currently eight sections: the lead, artistry, awards and nominations, early life, Omo Baba Olowo, The Baddest, Son of Mercy and personal life. Which four do you want to do? Let me give you the option to choose this time instead of assigning things to you.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:22, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
If he does not resspond, I will be okay with early life, personal life, Baddest section and the Son of Mercy sections. HandsomeBoy (talk) 12:47, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

I got your note on the Burna Boy page. I am currently still editing and appreciate the feedback. Do have a look through and let me know if you spot any more missteps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheCxcx (talkcontribs) 23:19, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

@TheCxcx: The info you added to the Burna Boy article is written in a promotional tone. You need to rewrite it to make it more encyclopedic. Also, some of the info you added doesn't belong there. The lead section should be an overview of the article. I am going to tag the article and remove the promotional wording.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:50, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

@Maveotm: Happy New Year to you bro. Thanks. I am going to try my best to stay active this year.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 02:21, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Ooops, unfortunately I never got the ping! Belated new year to you Versace, trust you're doing very well! I've seen you around frequently nowadays😊😊😊! Cheers, Mahveotm (talk) 01:25, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
@Maveotm: Thanks bro. I am great, hope all is well on your end? I am going to try my best to stay active this year. I need to increase my edit count.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:29, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, sure I'm doing great!! I'm sort of affected by the recent industrial action by Nigerian academic staff, but overall, things have been fine!!!! I'm really glad to see you actively back again, you would probably want to see this! And just out of curiousity, did you eventually get the Wikipedia Tee I nominated you for last year? Mahveotm (talk) 01:53, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
What exactly is the industrial action by the Nigerian academic staff? I apologize if I sound ignorant. Thanks for reminding me about this. I do remember another editor saying it is possible for the Wizkid article to be a featured article. I can definitely work on tweaking the article this year. Handsomeboy and I had plans of bringing the Davido article to GA status. If you would like to help us, you can accessed the article at User:Versace1608/sandbox6.
Oops, my apologies. It means I've got more free time than I'm actually suppose to for some reasons. As regards the FA, I wish you all the very best and depending on my avalability, I would be willing to help with whatever I can do to help. It sort of appeared the sandbox was a red link, was it suppose to be another one? Regards, Mahveotm (talk) 02:17, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
I understand now. It sucks man. I hope the strike ends as soon as possible. I just corrected the link; you should be able to access it now. I will definitely reach out to you when I start working on improving the Wizkid article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 02:40, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

I have reverted your redirect of Unbreakable (Dareysteel album) (diff). The AfD discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unbreakable (Dareysteel album), which you initiated, was closed as no consensus, not as redirect. North America1000 06:01, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for leaving a note on my talk page. I just nominated it for deletion again. The album is not notable and doesn't deserve to have a separate article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 12:04, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

List of awards and nominations received by Wizkid

Bro, editing awards and nominations is too technical when you have to input sources. I really don't get the process, looks too tedious — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salamandary (talkcontribs) 04:56, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

@Salamandary: The table is very complex. It is not as difficult as it looks though. It's just a matter of rowspaning the correct rows. I advice you to use the table below instead. You can split the awards and group them together. Instead of having one huge table, you can have multiple tables. For instance, if Jack won a single Grammy award in 2018, the wiki syntax should look like this:
Tutorial
==Grammy awards==
{{awards table}}
!Ref
|-
|2018
|Himself
|Artist of the Year
|{{won}}
|<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.testingabc1212.com//aaaa-bbb-cccc-dddd-eeee-ffff-gggg | title=Jack won two Grammy awards | publisher= Grammys | date=2 February 2018 | accessdate=5 February 2019| author=White, Jack}}</ref>
{{end}}

This above wiki syntax code will produce the table below:

Year Nominee / work Award Result Ref
2018 Himself Artist of the Year Won

If Jack won two Grammy awards, the wiki syntax will look like this:

==Grammy awards==
{{awards table}}
!Ref
|-
|rowspan="2"|2018
|rowspan="2"|Himself
|Artist of the Year
|{{won}}
|rowspan="2"|<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.testingabc1212.com//aaaa-bbb-cccc-dddd-eeee-ffff-gggg | title=Jack won two Grammy awards | publisher= Grammys | date=2 February 2018 | accessdate=5 February 2019| author=White, Jack}}</ref>
|-
|Best Male Vocal Performance
|{{nom}}
{{end}}

The above sntax will produce the table below:

Grammy awards

Year Nominee / work Award Result Ref
2018 Himself Artist of the Year Won
Best Male Vocal Performance Nominated

Do you see the differences between the two tables? If you want to include another award from the same year without repeating 2018 in the table, you should add rowspan "2". If Jack won or was nominated for three Grammy awards in the same year, it will be rowspan="3". If he won or was nominated for four, it will be rowspan="4". In short, you have to increment by 1 each time. The rowspan=" " isn't limited to just the year column. It applies to everything in the table. For instance, if Jack won the Best Male Vocal Performance category, I can rowspan the result column instead of repeating {{won}} twice. Below is a visual of the two tables I'm describing. In the first table, {{won}} is listed twice. In the second, {{won}} is only listed once.

Table 1

==Grammy awards==
{{awards table}}
!Ref
|-
|rowspan="2"|2018
|rowspan="2"|Himself
|Artist of the Year
|{{won}}
|rowspan="2"|<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.testingabc1212.com//aaaa-bbb-cccc-dddd-eeee-ffff-gggg | title=Jack won two Grammy awards | publisher= Grammys | date=2 February 2018 | accessdate=5 February 2019| author=White, Jack}}</ref>
|-
|Best Male Vocal Performance
|{{won}}
{{end}}

The above syntax produces the table below. The syntax shows {{won}} being listed twice:

Year Nominee / work Award Result Ref
2018 Himself Artist of the Year Won
Best Male Vocal Performance Won

Now to table 2.

Table 2

==Grammy awards==
{{awards table}}
!Ref
|-
|rowspan="2"|2018
|rowspan="2"|Himself
|Artist of the Year
|rowspan="2" {{won}}
|rowspan="2"|<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.testingabc1212.com//aaaa-bbb-cccc-dddd-eeee-ffff-gggg | title=Jack won two Grammy awards | publisher= Grammys | date=2 February 2018 | accessdate=5 February 2019| author=White, Jack}}</ref>
|-
|Best Male Vocal Performance
{{end}}

Table 2 syntax produces the table below. The syntax shows {{won}} being listed once.

Grammy awards

Year Nominee / work Award Result Ref
2018 Himself Artist of the Year Won
Best Male Vocal Performance

I hope I was able to explain the table syntax to you. Feel free to reach out to me if you have additional questions. Good luck with creating tables.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 00:26, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

gidi culture festival

Hi - I'd like to update the Gidi Culture Festival wiki page on behalf of the festival founders. Can you help? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.47.225.120 (talk) 22:34, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

@82.47.225.120. I can definitely help with expanding the article. I will work on it once I'm done creating The Headies 2018 article. Did the festival's founders tell you to update the page? If that's the case, you have a WP:COI with the festival and cannot edit the page.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 22:45, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you very much! The main info to add is the artist line up history. Do you still have access to the list I tried to add for that? there is also more information about what the festival is doing in a wider sense from those articles and interviews with publications including OkayAfrica, Huck Magazine, IQ Magazine and i-D Magazine. Re: conflict of interest, yes they asked if I could look into it for them because it is out of date. Thanks for alerting me to that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.47.225.120 (talk) 17:13, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi again - the event is happening again in Easter so it would be great if it had updated info before then. Is that likely do you think? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.138.57.242 (talk) 15:29, 15 March 2019 (UTC)

Creating an article on Wikipedia Mainspace

Greetings, i have over 10 edits, meaning i can create an article in the mainspace. If i remove the draft template from the article, will it go to the main space without a review if i submit it?--Joseph Ozojie (talk) 11:40, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

@Joseph Ozojie: As a new editor, I recommend you submit the article through WP:AFC. I just did a Google search of Kings Prime TV; the platform doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability requirement. It fails WP:ORG and WP:GNG. If I were you, I would submit a request for the draft to be deleted. Before you create your next draft, you need to make sure the article meets the requirement of WP:GNG. Just curious, are you really "new" to Wikipedia? I find it odd that your first contribution to Wikipedia was a note on my talk page. If you are here to contribute to Wikipedia productively, I can be of assistance to you. Having said that, I do not condone people who are dishonest. I am not saying you are. I am just letting you know where I stand.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 02:12, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Troll Cabal

Hi,

The Troll Cabal is not a formal nonprofit advocacy group, and is more an informal community of Twitter users that congregate and interact under the #TrollCabal hashtag.

In this sense it is similar to other hash tagged movements like #BlackLivesMatter and #MeToo in that it serves as a rallying point.

For us, it’s a tool necessary to de-toxify political debates, discussions, campaigns and elections.

Conversations under the hashtag have trended for the last couple of days, in the lead up to Troll Cabal elections on Saturday.

It is an important piece of the evolving democratic tapestry in Nigeria, and I think it is worth keeping on Wikipedia.

Regards,

PapaDonkee — Preceding unsigned comment added by Papadonkee (talkcontribs) 23:09, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Reply on Mad Over You

Irrelevant, fine, but nothing wrong with source. Which better source than YouTube? Plus, 85M views for an Afro music video, no appearance from Drake or Sway Lee, is not too irrelevant. But yo, it's cool if you say so — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kobenamarron (talkcontribs) 07:45, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

@Kobenamarron: For starters, it is not the norm to include YouTube page views in song articles. Information about YouTube views are included when the video reaches some sort of milestone or makes history. You can go through the tens of thousands of song articles here and you will not see this info. Having said that, I do not have a problem with its inclusion. At the end of the day, information about YouTube views are trivial. If you want to re-add the info you added, you need to find a source that explicitly states the info. YouTube is not reliable in this instance because the view count increases daily.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:43, 23 March 2019 (UTC)

Mad over you

Good insights and everything. Though I can show a song page sourcing a YouTube vid. But by Wikipedia standards YouTube can't be reliable, I get it. Should have told me earlier. Good job out here charley. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kobenamarron (talkcontribs) 20:02, 23 March 2019 (UTC)

Rendezvous (M.I Abaga album)

See TYPE at Template:Infobox album and Category:Album articles with non-standard infoboxes. The article already has direct quotes from sources calling it an "album" so the term "playlist" seems like a gimmick to me. Or maybe the item shouldn't be described as an "album" at all, in which case you wouldn't use the album infobox. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 17:09, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

My article has been nominate for deletion.

Hello, an article i recently created has been nominated deletion because the subject is an up and coming. J.Derobie was brought to the limelight after his Hit song "Poverty" which went viral. He is currently one of the biggest young Dancehall Artiste here in Ghana and putting in more work. Please kindly show me or guide with what i'm supposed to do to ensure his page is maintained. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abuswain (talkcontribs) 11:13, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

@Abuswain: The artist does have a hit song but he has not done enough to warrant stand-alone inclusion. This is simply a case of WP:TOOSOON. Once he releases more music and start getting coverage in reliable sources, he will definitely meet WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 00:38, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Rendezvous (M.I Abaga album) - Correction

Moved discussion
The following is a closed discussion. Please do not modify it.
 – Relevant for article talk, moved with consensus.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 08:58, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi Versace1608 the album is stylized as a playlist and this I think doesn't make it a playlist. The creative concept is for it to be a play through album

Fatherred (talk) 15:56, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

@Fatherred: Rendezvous was not released as an album. The references in the article support this info and the rapper himself considers the project a playlist. According to numerous sources, M.I's decision to create a playlist was inspired by Drake's More Life project. Keep in mind that Drake's body of work was released as a commercial mixtape, although he refers to it as a playlist. If you go by this deductive reasoning, Rendezvous should be a commercial mixtape, not an album. However, it was not released as a commercial mixtape. Let's play devil's advocate and deduce that Rendezvous is a studio album. This would mean that said project is M.I's fourth studio album. If this is the case, then what was Yung Denzel released as? Sources here, here and here states that Yung Denzel was released as the rapper's fourth studio album. We do not have sources stating that Yung Denzel was released as the rapper's fifth studio album.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:50, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
@Versace1608: M.I announced Yxng Dxnzl but went on to release Rendezvous this was the release concept as Yxng Dxnzl has been anticipated by his fans. Everyone expected Yxng Dxnzl but he went on to release Rendezvous. We can move to the article talk page on this issue Fatherred (talk) 13:57, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
@Fatherred: Like I said, the playlist was not released as an album. The number of sources that refer to it as a playlist far outweighs the ones that call it an album. If you still disagree, open a case at WP:DRN. I'm sure someone else might explain things better to you. If Rendezvous is an album, what type of album is it? If your answer to this question is "studio", then your argument is contradictory to say the least. Two albums cannot be released as a singular fourth studio album. Rendezvous and Yung Denzel are two projects, not one.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:08, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm an editor sir

I go on the street,i meet lots of people even the once from the country side, and they are very interested in knowing where this artist originate from. Mr it goes a long way in expanding their fan base,i'm an artist and I know this. I made that Editting for the people and for the act. As a matter of fact,I was in in Ekiti and ondo few months back and I could see the love in their eyes knowing that( teni the act )happens to be from that south western part. Need i remind you that before now,amongst the five states in the south eastern part of Nigeria, ebonyi state had no artist to reckon with not until patoranking and tekno came on board? And it was a relieve for them....lol. I carryout questionnaire and lots of human study before making an edit,so,please do not make me feel like I'm stupid all because you've been here before me. I just to flow and grow.thanks

@Kimi fantox: Thanks for the detailed message. You are allowed to include info about someone's biological origin within the body of the article, but not to the infobox. The origin field is reserve for the place the musician started his/her career. Please keep in mind that everything you add to Wikipedia must be backed by a reliable source. I noticed that you added guitar to the instrument field of the Becca (Ghanaian singer) article. Do you have a reliable source stating that Becca plays the guitar? Any info you add for which no reliable, published sources exist is considered original research and is not permitted here. You are not stupid and I don't want you to think anyone thinks of you in that regard. If you want to become a productive member of this encyclopedia, you will need to follow the policies and procedures, including WP:OR and WP:RS.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 02:10, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Now singing saggy:::::: It wasn't me!!!

I saw guitar on the page and wanted to delete but i didn't cos I wasn't sure. I think a guy from Ghana did that. I only added vocals which is very important,same thing I did with teni,added vocals earlier today. I have every prove that every Editting I have made has been good and clean except for adding place of origin to the infobox and i admit that i was wrong and thanks for the info. Good day.

@Kimi fantox: Thanks for the clarification. You were right when you said you didn't do it. I apologize for thinking it was you.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 20:15, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi,I still can't upload photo profile,although I have the model to follow but still need someone to break it down for me. How do I upload a photo using my phone.

@Kimi fantox: I don't believe you will be able to upload pictures to Wikipedia using your phone. You have to either use a laptop or desktop to do so. I recommend you email the image to yourself and and save it your desktop or laptop. Make sure you're the copyright owner of the image.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 16:28, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

Does the name "Nicholas Nde" sound familiar?

Still surprised at how you were able to predict the Algeria vs Senegal final, right from the quarter-final stage of AFCON. Please have a look at Special:Contributions/Emmy9696 and Draft:Emmy Songz. Personally, I want to be more focused on creating articles, and encouraging editors involved with Nigerian contents to be more active on Wikipedia, but each time I go through the contributions of Emmy9696, something pushes me that something is not right here. HandsomeBoy (talk) 10:32, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

@HandsomeBoy: Nicholas Nde is definitely familiar. This person is User:Coal Press Nation. If you go through CPN's archive pages, you'll clearly see the evidence. Emmy9696 definitely needs to be reported for sock puppetry.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:03, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Mr Eazi Background Information

Hello there, I am also an editor on Wikipedia and I will just like to ask you why you reverted an edit by a user that removed Kumasi Ghana as Mr Eazi origin. Lets be honest adding Kumasi Ghana to his background information is only meant to insinuate or rather confuse people to thinking he somehow originated from Ghana or his origin is from Ghana even thought he is clearly Nigerian. The reason I said this is that when I first saw the page, I was confused myself by his origin saying Kumasi. Upon further investigation I saw this message "The origin field is intended for musical origin, not biological origin. Please refrained from adding Lagos, Nigeria, or the place his parents are from. -->Kumasi, Ghana. The origin field is intended for musical origin, not biological origin. Please refrained from adding Lagos, Nigeria, or the place his parents are from." This is the reason I said the origin was meant to insinuate that he is Ghanaian. The background information is meant for biological origin not musical origin and the person that wrote the message knew that the information was misleading that was why the message was left on the edit page. To even say his musical origin is from Kumasi Ghana is even debatable but I wont get into that. I don't have a problem with putting the Origin as Kumasi Ghana but I think it should be clear that the origin is only referring to his Musical origin and not his Biological Origin or the Origin should be removed. Lastly to prove my point even further that was why the "Nationality: Nigerian" was not added to the background information even though I think that is more important to his background information than his Musical Origin that was only stated as "origin". If you don't agree with my point I would like us to get opinions from other editors to gauge the most common census on which side of the fence they stand on. Thanks hope to hear from you soon!

@OmoYoruba45: Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out to me. I reverted the user's edit because it is not constructive. Per the musical infobox template, the origin field is meant for listing the place the aritst started his/her music career. It is reserved for musical origin, not biological origin. Info about biological origin can be included in an article's body, but not in the infobox. I hope I've made things clear to you. Once I get to a computer, I am going to restore the info that was removed from the article. Feel free to leave a message here if you have any other question.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 00:05, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Edits

Hello there,

Trust you're doing good Sir?

I noticed you're removing some of my links from previously edited articles. I felt bad about that to be honest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kolapoimam (talkcontribs) 12:04, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

@Kolapoimam: I am well man. Hope all is well on your end? Please do not feel bad. I did the right thing. The source you added is a self-published source and is not reliable per WP:RSSELF. According to the website's About Us page, you created the website in 2016. Please do not promote your website on Wikipedia by adding links of it to Wikipedia articles.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 12:53, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Help me create articles

Please can you help me create articles for Effyzzie Music Group and Woman of Steel Album by Yemi Alade Not23 (talk) 19:58, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

@Not23: Thanks for contacting me. I actually listened to Yemi Alade's Women of Steel when it first came out. I can definitely create an article about the album. However, I am working on other articles right now and will probably be able to get started on it in a few weeks. I am not going to be able to create a separate article about Effyzzie Music Group because the label has not been discussed in reliable sources. Are you affiliated with Effyzzie Music Group; if so, what's your connection?  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:10, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Article Posting

Hi, good morning. I want to make enquires if you can help me post an article? Devtolu (talk) 07:19, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

@Devtolu: If you would like to create an article for stand-alone inclusion, you need to make sure it meets WP:GNG. If you believe the article meets said criteria, you should create it using the Articles for creation process. I hope I was able to help.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:39, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Comments by NewLoaded9ja

Can you help in creating article, I have draft already NewLoaded9ja (talk) 21:11, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

@NewLoaded9ja: Thanks for reaching out to me for help. I visited your contributions page and saw the draft article you're talking about. I'm afraid I will not be able to help you create the article. The subject in question does not pass WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. I ran a Google search of OluMighty and did not see him being discussed in any reliable source.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:20, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Please how can you help me in that NewLoaded9ja (talk) 22:37, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

I have the Spotify artist link but it appears as music act in Google search NewLoaded9ja (talk) 22:39, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

@NewLoaded9ja: I can't help you create an article about OluMighty because the subject doesn't meet the requirements of WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. He is pretty much an unknown artist in the Nigerian music industry. If he starts releasing quality music and gaining support from the ground up, he may become notable in the upcoming years. It's possible he may blow up with a hit single. With regards to Spotify, I don't know exactly what you need help with.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:17, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

About SoundMan Vol. 1 Cover Art

I don't want the cover art for Soundman Vol. 1 to be deleted. How can I change the copyright to an official one? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jones Barley (talkcontribs) 21:17, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

@Jones Barley: It's going to end up getting deleted very soon. You should allow it to get deleted because it doesn't belong in Commons. You can use the detail instructions I left on your talk page to upload a newer file. If you are not comfortable with uploading a new image, I can upload it.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 03:15, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
@Versace1608: That would be okay. But I'll love to learn and follow Wikipedia Terms and Conditions.

What will be inserted in this category?: "In view of this, please explain how the use of this file will be minimal". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jones Barley (talkcontribs) 20:19, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

@Jones Barley: The Soundman Vol. 1 album cover should be categorized in Category:Album covers. I'm glad you are interested in learning. When I first started editing years ago, the images I were uploading were getting deleted. I actually was blocked from uploading images for a while. Anyways, that's besides the point. I want you to remember this: images that have been licensed under a WP:CC-BY license should be uploaded to Commons. If you want to upload a cover of an album, song or film, you will need to upload it within Wikipedia using the {{Non-free use rationale}} template. Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia are two different websites, although they both are owned by the Wikimedia Foundation. You cannot use the Non-free fair use rationale template to upload images of a living person. Images of living people need to be licensed freely and can only be uploaded to Commons. Screenshots of a YouTube video can be uploaded to Commons if the video has been licensed under a creative commons license. Take a look at this image I uploaded; it is a screenshot of Mr Eazi's interview with NdaniTV. You might find videos on YouTube that have been licensed freely, however, you need to make sure the account that uploaded the video is credible.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 11:22, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

This write up is nice. Didn't really get the 'Non-free use rationale'. Please can you explain further? JBarley 00:22, 13 February 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jones Barley (talkcontribs)

@Jones Barley: As an online encyclopedia whose database is built by the masses for the masses, Wikipedia prefers free content (text and images that have no copyright restrictions) over non-free content (text and images that do). In layman's terms, the Non-free use rationale is pretty much a justification that one needs to provide if they intend on uploading copyrighted images, videos or audio clips. You can read more about the Non-free fair use guideline here. The Non-free fair use rationale can be used to upload copyrighted album, single or movie cover art; it can also be used to upload an image of a notable dead person. FYI, if you decide to create an article about a subject or thing, make sure the subject or thing meets Wikipedia's notability requirements. If you create an article about someone or something that isn't notable, said article can (and will most likely) be nominated for deletion. I am a stickler for Wikipedia's notability guideline and do not hesitate when it comes to nominating articles that do not belong in Wikipedia. I must also point out that articles you, me or anyone create need to be written from scratch and cannot contain close paraphrasing. Wikipedia's copyright policy actually forbids Wikipedia contributors from copying an excessive amount of info directly from other sources. Per MOS:QUOTE, we are not allowed to include extensive quotes in articles.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 02:00, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Hello Versace1608

I recently saw your nomination to delete the Lil5ive article. Kindly let me know what is wrong with is so I can work on it.

He meets the Wikipedia requirements and guidelines. He's got enough references for the article. He's a music artiste for in Nigeria who has been buzzing for a while now, his latest record "Omo Ologo" has garnered almost 500,000 accumulated streams on streaming platforms.

I'll await your feedback. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter OKH (talkcontribs) 18:51, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) per your comments above; He meets the Wikipedia requirements and guidelines @Peter OKH, explain how having 500,000 streams satisfies either WP:SINGER & WP:GNG. Celestina007 (talk) 19:38, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank you Celestina007. As an artist in Nigeria where we've not gotten to the apex of the streaming business, 500,000 streams is a huge number. There are many artists that have an article on Wikipedia and they've not gotten these numbers. This is one of the ways to support young Nigerian artists who are working hard and contributing their quota to the development of African music. Thanks you

Kindly help vote to keep the article, thanks.

@Peter OKH, so again I ask how does what you have just said of his accomplishments meet either WP:MUSICBIO or WP:GNG.Celestina007 (talk) 21:01, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
