Adoption[edit]

Hey Nerdfighter, I'm an adopter; Here is my adoption school. You look like the kind of editor I like to take on. If you ping me in about a week, I'll set it up. This week looks nuts, though. Go Phightins! 03:36, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Phightins! — nerdfighter 04:33, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your adoption center is here. Go Phightins! 03:19, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Still interested? No hurry, it's just that the copyright lesson has been sitting there for a while. Go Phightins! 03:33, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert[edit]

Why did you revert this edit back to the biased version? Thanks. Reaper Eternal (talk) 16:57, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll obviously not speak for Nerdfighter, but I've noticed that reverts like that are much more common using Stiki. I think there's something odd with the interface. Ryan Vesey 17:06, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On that point, @nerdfighter, I'd personally suggest not using Stiki. I've failed to see the benefit. I haven't used it myself, so my comments are related to the actions I've seen others take. It appears that Stiki attempts to identify vandalism, some users tend to take Stiki's word for granted. If you're using it, I suggest you take extra precautions. I don't think editors have as many problems with Huggle as they do with Stiki, but when I use Huggle, I follow the advise given to me by JamesBWatson and keep my browser open so I can more carefully check any articles that need it. (This is especially useful when editors aren't using edit summaries and you really need to examine the article's history to see why they're making the edits they are). Ryan Vesey 17:12, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, very sorry. I only really quickly looked at the edit in question. I never mean to revert back to a vandalism version of the article. I will heed Ryan's advice and use Huggle instead once it's available for mac. Again, sorry Reaper Eternal! — nerdfighter 18:22, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's alright, I figured it was a mistake. I just wanted to let you know to be more careful when reverting edits. Cheers! Reaper Eternal (talk) 11:34, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Unionville, Ontario[edit]

Hi Nerdfighter, our friend 184.147.52.65 blanked out part of the Unionville talk page - I have reverted it, but I see where you gave him/her a last warning some days ago for similar behaviour. a) what is s/he doing? b) should s/he be permanently blocked (if possible)? I realize this is hard with people who are only IP addresses, but I am getting tired of this behaviour - and the semi-protection on Unionville runs out next month, at which point s/he will probably start the harassment again! Jpaulm (talk) 01:08, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If I recall correctly I warned them because they removed all their warnings from their talk page. I will report them at WP:AIV. They will likely be blocked for a short period of time because the IP address might be shared between many users and they haven't been blocked before. Has this user harassed you personally? — nerdfighter 02:21, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, but thanks for asking! Over the months I have asked them several times to identify themselves so we can discuss what may be legitimate disagreements, but no luck! In my experience 90% of vandalism comes from unregistered users, but the WP community still seems to resist the idea of requiring editors to be registered! Disambiguation link notification for March 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Hoshin Engi chapters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Japanese (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Adoption[edit]

Hey Nerdfighter, I haven't seen you at adoption for a little while. Are you still interested in continuing? Thanks. Go Phightins! 02:45, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, okay I just havn't had much time. I'll head over in a second. — nerdfighter 17:13, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem; I just wanted to make sure you were still interested. Go Phightins! 17:18, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

CVUA Final Completed[edit]

Hi Nerdfighter! Thanks for all of your help so far! I just wanted to let you know that I've completed my CVUA exam to the best of my ability, sans page protection requests, which I am having difficulty finding. I believe that it is ready to be graded! Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you! Have a great weekend! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 04:03, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alright I'll take a look. Thanks! — nerdfighter 22:32, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shirt58 RfA[edit]

Hi Nerdfighter, I noted you recently opposed Shirt58's RfA in part due to his non-answering of questions. Shirt58 has now explained that this was in part due to a car accident and has since answered some questions. I was wondering if you might come back to the RfA page and take another look. WormTT(talk) 11:57, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. I'll be straight over. — nerdfighter 13:06, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reward board offer[edit]

Hi, I saw your offer on the Reward board, and I'm interested in helping you out, but it looks like the header is already centered. Maybe it looks different on your computer? HueSatLum 15:46, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think with smaller displays/browser windows, the boxes get squished together and it looks centered, be on bigger displays/windows it tends to be on the left. — nerdfighter 20:12, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll start working on it now. One question: do you want the distance between boxes to change as the window is resized? I can make it either way. HueSatLum 22:01, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mind either really, but I would prefer if it stays the same distance. Thanks! — nerdfighter 00:05, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is this something like what you had in mind? I can still change it. HueSatLum 00:47, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, very cool :) Do you want a beer, coffee, what? I'll post the technical barnstar to your talk page. Thanks! — nerdfighter 00:59, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Coffee's fine, thanks! HueSatLum 01:08, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You also fixed the account info link. Thanks! — nerdfighter 01:32, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You[edit]

Thank you again for all of your help. You've really helped drastically in improving my knowledge of Wikipedia, and I hope that we can continue to work together in the future on Wikipedia. I know I'll turn to you when I have questions, but I really want to emphasize my appreciation for your time and willingness to help me and others to learn how the "system" works. Also, I didn't see a

box on your userpage; I think maybe you should add it or replace your standard CVU badge with it, as you're off to a great start as far as instruction goes!

Please keep in touch! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 03:25, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And you were a great student. Thanks! — nerdfighter 16:13, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unionville, Ontario vandalism[edit]

Saw your warning to 184.146.106.79 (for which thanks!). This is very similar to the behaviour that got 184.147.52.65 blocked - same first byte of IP address - wonder if it's the same person! It seems very difficult to control people who refuse to register - I am afraid I really don't understand why they are allowed to edit - 90% of the vandalism comes from them! BTW Are you the same as Rosscoolguy?! Thanks again! Jpaulm (talk) 15:17, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I thought it might be the same person. However, we shouldn't make presumptions. I was rosscoolguy but I changed my username. I don't know how I feel about IPs editing. On one hand they do lots of vadalism, and on the other hand some IPs make valuable contributions :/ — nerdfighter 16:06, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pope Francis[edit]

You are wrong in your edit concerning the Prophecy of the Popes. The connection between Pope Francis, Saint Francis, and the name Peter is NOT the fact that Saint Francis' father was named Peter. It is the fact that Sanit Francis' middle name was Peter! Get your facts straight... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:558:6027:6E:715C:E8D6:26DB:C51E (talk) 05:40, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thanks for the friendly message! Firstly, I never even commented on anything to do with the pope, and secondly, I could not care less about the pope's middle name. Thanks! — nerdfighter 12:51, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A cookie for you![edit]

Hello Nerdfighter, I will be celebrating my birthday on 19 March. So, I would like to give you a treat. If you decide to "eat" the cookie, please reply by placing {{subst:munch}} on my talk page. I hope this cookie has made your day better. Cheers! Arctic Kangaroo 15:09, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vlogbrothers[edit]

Is there any reason you made this edit? I don't want to undo it offhand, but it was grammatically correct before. Ryan Vesey 23:07, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message! Actually "Vlogbrothers" as a channel name is singular. Therefore "Vlogbrothers's" singular possessive is correct. — nerdfighter 23:10, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
s' is used for singular possessives in many situation, consider Jesus' prayers or Dr. Seuss' books. Ryan Vesey 23:12, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to keep you waiting. In Wikipedia's manual of style it says you may use either. I was using the method outlined by William Strunk Jr.'s, Elements of Style. — nerdfighter 23:20, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How to make infobox[edit]

I do not understand how to make a infobox and i was not mentioned on what kind of game engine it was runned on, also i can't post images of the game because i got to go through a complex image licenseing that makes it difficult to post images --Indienews (talk) 16:12, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again Indienews! If you could find me an image of the logo of the game I could upload it for you. Once I have that I will start working on the infobox. Thanks! — nerdfighter 16:17, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I got it but it keeps turning red for some reason--Indienews (talk) 16:26, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:Videogames,Xboxlive,Horror,indiegames.jpg- i made it but i can not copy and paste the image to the article and its really starting to piss me off a bit --Indienews (talk) 16:44, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, just send me a link to where you found the image and I'll sort it out. — nerdfighter 18:12, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, nerdfighter thanks for helping me out the infobox has been set up and its now a low prioity instead of a stub hopefully we can get some gamers on here to help with this page a bit, but still i am trying to make the version along with the rating visible to the editor of the page but i do not know what i have to type in to make it happen.--Indienews (talk) 12:16, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proof of registration[edit]

I am registering for the English Wikipedia Internal Account Creation Interface. — nerdfighter 22:17, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nerdfighter, Thank you for you interest in ACC. As stated here all users must be identified. Please let me know if this is some thing you will do and we can hold your request for a while, or you may re-request at a later date. Cheers. Mlpearc (powwow) 22:37, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Mlpearc. I cannot identify because I am under 18. I am curious however, why ID is needed. Do you see personal information at ACC? — nerdfighter 22:43, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, IP's and email addresses are displayed on the request interface. If you are still interested when you are able to identify just poke a team member and we can get you setup. Cheers, Mlpearc (powwow) 17:18, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks — nerdfighter 17:37, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AfDs mount automatically; that was a real AfD you removed[edit]

I use Twinkle to post AfDs. They create the page after a few seconds, so you may see a bogus redlink such as the one you removed. No harm, no foul; just be aware that it's a legit AfD (in which your input, of course, is welcome). --Orange Mike | Talk 01:16, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
