Disambiguation link notification for August 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jo Champa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sean Farrell. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:11, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your addition of "born on November 20, 1969, according to her imdb posting" to Callie Thorne. IMDb is not a reliable source. Please see WP:IMDB for comments on that topic. You might also want to read WP:USERGENERATED to see names of other sources that are similarly unreliable. Eddie Blick (talk) 00:59, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Teblick An unreliable source is better than no source, which is the current state. Saying a celebrity is somewhere between birth and death is not why people come here. Usnerd2000 (talk) 03:20, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your comment, "An unreliable source is better than no source" contradicts the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy, which says (in part), "In the English Wikipedia, verifiability means other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source."
Because Callie Thorne, as you wrote, "is somewhere between birth and death", WP:BLPPRIVACY also applies. It says (in part), "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources ..." That policy prohibits inclusion of a date of birth that is unsourced or cited to an unreliable source such as IMDb. Eddie Blick (talk) 15:32, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
