What to do about dead urls in references[edit]

Thanks for your attempt to fix up the citation at French Forces of the Interior § Liberation by removing the broken url. What you found is an example of "link rot", where an old url no longer works, or may be replaced by a parked domain or other content entirely. But rather than just removing the bad url, it's better to try to replace it with a good one. Do you know about the Internet Archive (otherwise known as, "The Wayback Machine")? They have copies of just about everything that is or was on the web, and in this case, they had a copy of the "112 Gripes" handbook that used to be at that dead url you found. You can see how I fixed it up by looking at this edit. Have a look at the WP:LINKROT page for more explanation of how to recognize link rot and what you can do about it when you find it.
