Silton Bookman.

Not sure if this is the right place for a messgae to you sorry if it is not. I am trying to remember things that I was involved in 25 years ago and as I am not in the prime of life this is coming very slowly. I am trying to floow the Wiki principle of getting the whole of human knowledge on wiki. I only started this page last night and having these no source messages is not helping as the source is me. What else can I do dont frighten me off...thanks...Deben Dave (talk) 12:41, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

This is the right place. One of the issues associated with writing an self-sourced article is it may fail to meet the criteria for citing verifiable, third-party, independent sources. Not everything gets into Wikipedia, they have to be verifiable and Notabile. I would suggest you put together the article in a User/sandbox, get it up to speed and then upload it to the Wikipedia mainspace.
The problem may be that without citing citing verifiable, third-party, independent sources, it may not survive review by the editor population. Good luck and if I can be of help, please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 03:37, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello

Hello,

I still am not sure how to create a sandbox after going to my userpage. Please give me the instructions again. I am trying to save my little pages before they are deleted.

Cincinnati2007

In the Creating user subpages section of Wikipedia:User page there is a link at the end of the line that starts, "User:Example/Lipsum is an example of a user subpage for User:Example. Your user page, if it exists yet, is here. If you wanted to create a user subpage called "Sandbox", you would find it..." ttonyb1 (talk) 04:31, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Question

Ttony, I am curious, if I might: What is the difference between a CSD, a Prod, and an AfD? I ask primarily because I see some articles that go through all three, some that go straight to AfD, and some that get a Prod but not a CSD and then go to AfD. I also ask because the AfD process is often quicker than the Prod process (which takes a week, minimum; AfD sometimes only takes 2-3 days).

I know there's no fixed deadline, but as I said...could I get what you would consider to be reasonable guidelines for preferring a Prod to either of the other two? Thanks.Tyrenon (talk) 03:52, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Sure, each are a form of nomination for deletion and are used in different circumstances. The CSD is used when there is a clear violation or discrepancy between the article and WP guidelines. (i.e., An attack on a person, a blatant copyright vio, or an article that fails to establish Notability and is not salvageable.) When a CSD is considered one must take into consideration if the article can be salvaged or if the article has the potential for life - can Notability be established for it.
If the article does not fit the criteria of a CSD article, then it can be Prod'd. This gives everyone a chance to look at the article to try to assess and, if necessary, make changes to it. One of the issues some have with this process is the Prod can be removed without cause by anyone including the author. The advantage is it does give the author some time to make to the article without having deleted before they are finished. Prods are also useful when an article does not fit into a CSD category, such as NN films.
If the Prod and CSD are refuted and one still thinks the article should be deleted or there is some controversy about the article, the AfD can be used to elicit community discussion to keep or delete the article.
Take a look at WP:SPEEDY, WP:AFD, and WP:PROD for more details about when to use the tags.
My best to you and if I can be of any help, please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 04:16, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

J. Todd Anderson

Just a friendly note on J. Todd Anderson. On the surface, an A7 speedy deletion seemed reasonable (although I could see a claim of importance if I really stretched), but a gnews search shows there may be notability here. Feel free to take to AfD if you think it needs to go.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I agree and probably will not move it to an AfD. ttonyb1 (talk) 15:13, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

First off, please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date.
The maintenance tags are the messages at the top of the page. In the case of Providencia Ranch, it is the box that contains the text, "This article may need to be wikified to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. Please help by adding relevant internal links, or by improving the article's layout. (December 2008)" Those messages are placed there to improve the quality of the article. I have added a welcome message to your talk page. I suggest you read the sections listed in the message, in particular, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, and Manual of Style.
I am not sure what you are referring to with the comments about threats. My messages to you are not threats, but rather an explanation of Wikipedia guidelines and the potential effect if the guidelines continued to be ignored. See WP:HARASS for more information about threats.
Please note that once you add an article to Wikipedia, you open it up to all to edit. In fact there is a note above the save button that states, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it."
My best to you... ttonyb1 (talk) 15:24, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

No problem. I have left a message on his/her site warning that vandalism is not acceptable and can get them banned from editing or creating articles. Not that this will work, but one can hope it will be enough to stop them. If not, we can see about banning them. My best to you... ttonyb1 (talk) 02:23, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

As of today: The subject of the article has requested that personal information such as genealogy be omitted, because of an outstanding court case regarding a violent stalker, internet impersonator, and copyright violator. There is a fear that public records will be used to locate and potentially harm her or her family. In the interest of physical safety, all other names, aliases, and birth dates besides "Naomi Elizabeth" should be removed until after the trial. Hopefully this is possible. Thank you so much, Hhtttt (talk) 16:33, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

That's a good suggestion. I'll do some work on that. I appreciate it. Hhtttt (talk) 18:29, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

I am completely new to this process and I fear I made a terrible mistake. Although I'm not sure what that was, I am very sorry. I would never knowingly vandalize anything.

Debi, thanks for the message. Your messages address two issues. The removal of maintenance tags is an easy one. They are placed in an article in order to help improve it. They are not placed there maliciously and are intended to point out items that will help the quality of the article/Wikipedia.
The second issue is why the article has been marked for potential deletion and how to avoid deletion. The article has been marked because it fails to establish notability for the film. Take a look at the General principles and Other evidence of notability sections for information on what is lacking and what is needed. These sections should give you the information needed to establish notability for the film. The fact the film has won an award and has been invited to another festival should be added to the article to help establish its notability - please beware that it might not be enough. Please note, the award and the invitation need to be verifiable and supported by verifiable sources.
After you have made the changes, make sure you also make you case on the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dead Game (film).
Good luck and my best wishes to you. If I can be of further help, please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 16:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

On the talk page for Gordon Greenberg I listed the references I was looking to add. I had tried to add some of them in a revision at 14:45 today, but they were undone at 14:49. Can you possibly help me to add these references:

Give it another try, the only thing that happened at 14:49 today was I added back the maintenance tags that were removed at 14:45. ttonyb1 (talk) 17:33, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. It seems to have worked this time. I couldn't tell if the references were in the correct format. There is still a note at the top of the page indicating that it might need reformatting. What does that mean in this case? --Jackromano (talk) 17:55, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I have formated the references using reflinks. The cleanup refers to changes in the format and content of the article. The content: The Biography section is really a list of credits and does not address his life. You may want to add an Education section and move the Stanford item to that and add a credits section below that. You could also add a current projects section below that and move the applicable items to that as well. Format: there are ";" between references. There are extra spaces in the article.
Give the cleanup a shot and I'll also give you a hand. ttonyb1 (talk) 18:21, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Cleaned it up as suggested. Will those tags be removed now? Thanks again for your help. --Jackromano (talk) 18:37, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

I use your site alot and i thought it would be cool if me and my friend put up our list of comics on here.Dat comics is the name and i think that lot of people dont use this site because their topics arent (good enough) in my opinion you should just leave it. Plz do because it took me time to make it and i dont want that to disapear —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blaze1177 (talkcontribs) 17:17, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

One of the reasons people come back to Wikipedia is there are standards for article inclusion. Unfortunately, Dat Comics fails to meet the notability guidelines for inclusion. If you can provide notability support for the article, it would be included. Has Dat Comics won any awards? Has it been a subject of review by major publications? Are the artists notable? If any of these are true, it would help provide notability for Dat Comics and it might survive the AfD. Good luck and if I can be of any help , please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 17:36, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

What would you recommend that I add/modify on the "Corkese" page to make it comply as a reference material page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bibendum73au (talkcontribs) 05:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

How about starting with independent, verifiable, third-party references. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:49, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Tony;

I created the page in question to answer the pointer from the article about the name "Schwartz." That article lists many people named Schwartz and links names to articles. Most of those articles are short, like the one I wrote. I listed two published writers. I thought that met the notability requirement. No?

Cheers,

David (talk) 15:10, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

First of all, read disambiguation pages for a discussion about what makes a disambiguation page. The page in question is just a couple of names without associated Wikipedia articles. Secondly, in itself being a publish author does not establish notability - see WP:AUTHOR. Nothing in the page establishes Notability. My best to you... ttonyb1 (talk) 15:32, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
OK, I get it; I would have to write complete articles about both David M. Schwartzes and link to those. Furthermore, those articles would have to cite all the awards, sales etc that make those guys notable authors. Frankly, that's too much work for me. That leaves the problem of consistency. The original article, "Schwartz" has many links to what you would label inadequate articles and lack of support for notability of names in the list.
Best Regards,
David (talk) 15:50, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Consistency is always an issue. There are only so many people willing to volunteer their time to edit/fix articles. Feel free to edit or tag as inadequate any articles you find out there. My best to you... ttonyb1 (talk) 16:15, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi I don't understand why my page "E-Century Publishing Corporation", a publisher dedicated exclusively to open access medical journals is recommended for "speedy deletion". Could you please elaborate why? http://www.e-century.org Thanks.

The article fails to provide Notability for a company.
Please leave your messages here and not on my user page, and please sign your message by leaving 4 tildes like this ~~~~ at the end of your message. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:12, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Tony, thanks for your message...is the google results enough to establish Notability for e-Century Publishing Corporation? Plus, it was started less than two years ago and now has two journals in PubMed and PubMed Central already, with the third is on its way inE-century (talk) 05:19, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
My pleasure, typically the number of GHits or GNEWS hits is not a good indicator of notability. What is is the substance of the hits. For instance, GHits pointing to substantial articles in Newsweek and Time would be great because the articles would be then used to establish notability via WP:REF.
I honestly cannot say if the journals in PubMed and PubMed Central would support notability, I am ignorant of their importance in the medical publishing world. I would suggest adding the reference to the journals. It might be enough to support the article. The way the deletion process works is an editor proposes an article for deletion. The nomination is reviewed by an independent admin and if he/she agrees, it is deleted. If not, it stays. So you have nothing to lose by adding the information to the article.
Best of luck and if I can be if assistance, please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:33, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Voice Acting Alliance

You say that my article, "Voice Acting Alliance", will be deleted because the website is "not notable". I disagree. I wrote this article because I believe it is worthy of being Wikified. As a member of the Alliance for the last three years, I have seen first hand the website go from being a small-ish community of amateur voice actors into a hearty board of people who have a true passion for the craft. I consider this website (along with the rival Voice Acting Club) the voice over industry's "minor leagues", if you will. Great actors have branched out from this website, and likewise, great actors have joined. I don't see what the problem is with the article, but if you have a problem with it, I suggest you make the necessary changes to allow it to stay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mystery Vox (talkcontribs) 03:16, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

At any rate, I have gotten helpful instruction from a Wiki admin and am working on a corrected version. Suzbailey23 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:09, 18 June 2009 (UTC).

I just added three references to the page, previewed it to be sure it was working correctly, and saved it. Ten minutes later I come back and my references have been removed and you have reverted the document, stating that I deleted the reference tags without providing references. What gives? Suzbailey23 (talk) 19:33, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

My apologies, I did not realize you had added text. The first reference you added did not address the statement in question and it did not work. In addition, you removed fact tags that were not addressed. I have added back the text I mistakenly removed, as well as the fact tags that should not have. ttonyb1 (talk) 19:41, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi - I saw your edits at National Management Association, so I thought you might be the right one to ask - the article's author has repeatedly removed the "speedy delete - copyvio" tag without changing the article, which is still a direct copy-and-paste from the organization's site. Since the user is claiming to be the copyright holder, is it appropriate for me to keep restoring the speedy tag and warning the user, or do you think it's better to just leave the article as it is, even though there is no proof (yet) that Wikipedia is allowed to use that text as is? Cheers, Dawn Bard (talk) 16:51, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

The author probably does not understand the process to donate materials and that is the reason they are removing the CSD. It is probably not a good idea to get into a editing war with them, so I left a message on the article talk page and marked the article as Possible copyright infringement. Hopefully this will get the point across and we will get the necessary permission. Thanks for following up on this and my best to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 17:06, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

WHy is Lily Sparkletoon being deleted

Excuse me You keep hounding the Lily Sparkletoon and are flagging it for deletion as well as taking out stuff already in there. I ask that you stop because the intellectual property is mine —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cherry1779 (talkcontribs) 05:39, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

First of all, I have not removed any content from the article. I have only added the CSD tags that you continue to insist on removing. You are more than welcome to verity this at Article History. If you wish to contest the proposed deletion, the correct action is to place a {{hangon}} tag on the article and not remove the existing CSD tag.
Secondly, I am not hounding you, but I have nominated the article for deletion. The reason is the article fails notability criteria for biographies. Please read the section and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me for any help. Thanks and my best to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:59, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Tony, you are removing content. I have proof of your editing work. Dont play coy with me. Leave the Page alone. It is not a finish work!!!
Please assume good faith. I suggest you read WP:FAITH for more information. I have provided you with the Article History to review. If I have made a change to the page (other than adding a Speedy Tag) then I assume you can point it out to me. If I have done so, I am more than willing to either explain or apology for the action.
I also suggest you read the section I pointed you to in the early message, it explains why the article has been nominated for deletion. Again, my best to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 06:15, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
BTW - I resent you referring to me in an uncivil manner as you did on Just James users page and I suggest you read WP:UNCIVIL and WP:FAITH. ttonyb1 (talk) 06:20, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
I have also referred Cherry1779 to Wikipedia:No personal attacks and to Wikipedia:Ownership of articles.--Just James T/C 06:29, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Your nomination for deletion of the Crabcore article would have seem legitimate at the start of the article, where it was said that only one band was currently playing crabcore. But it was wrong, and a lot of bands of different styles of music ( metal, hardcore, screamo etc ) have used or use some Crabcore moves. This is a new style of music, so this is not well known. But please, let it a chance, it's not because it's not very frequent that it is not important. I'll try to improve the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gemlas (talkcontribs) 16:10, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Its deletion is not up to me. It is a consensus of the community that will determine if it should stay. That consensus is base on the merits of the article. I notice it still lacks references to support notability. That lack of notability will be the biggest hurdle to overcome in order to allow it to stay. Best of luck... ttonyb1 (talk) 16:16, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I'm the user who you said was making 'disruptive edits' to the page on crabcore. I really need to see how you can say my edits were disruptive when people (not just myself) were making further, perfectly good additions to the page and you were undoing those edits. I re-undid this, and that somehow constitutes a 'disruptive edit'. Please explain. Barry. P.S: I apologise if I've posted this question in the wrong place; I'm pretty new to this whole thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.135.82.147 (talk) 20:06, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
First of all, this is the right location for the question. The reason I added the note to your user page was the "References in Popular Culture" section does not relate to the "dance move", was unreferenced, and had been removed previously. Because I have no interest in getting into a edit war and because the article looks as if it will be deleted as a result of the AfD, I am leaving your changes. ttonyb1 (talk) 22:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Ron Gallemore

I'm getting marked for copyright violation from a site that lists the career of [Ron Gallemore]. The wording is now different. Why is this still a violation? They obviously share the same names of institutions that he attended throughout his career. Thanks. Kinsher (talk) 16:52, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm learning how to write on wiki. I have a learning disability and it is going hard for me. I believe the information you want to remove will add to the story once I develop it further. I do appreciate your time in trying to help me develop this page. I tried a story on WikiNews and it was removed. This is only my second attempt. Any help you give me will be greatly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ROSESNEWS (talkcontribs) 23:36, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
If there is anything you need, please let me know. I know all the guidelines and such that need to be followed in order to get an article formated can be difficult. Believe me, everyone has trouble getting the hang of it. Even after almost 20,000 edits I still have trouble.
I went ahead and removed the text. I would suggest you put the text together in a User/sandbox and when it is completed, move it up the the Wikipedia mainspace. ttonyb1 (talk) 23:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Please help me - I hold copyright for all of this and I don't know why you are deleting! Please stop for a minute and explain to me what I'm doing wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aviationstrategies (talkcontribs) 00:52, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Please read the section on donating material to Wikipedia. I think , Granting us permission to copy material already online applies here. Until proper documentation is provided, it will appear to violate Wikipedia guidelines and U.S. Copyright Laws. If I can be of any help please let me know. My best to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 01:02, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
I added this to the discussion on the page in question.
This is not a copyright infringement. I wrote this content for:
And am now putting it here. I am the author. Is this a problem?
You can verify my identity [email protected] as well as [email protected].
Might I kindly recommend, for new users who spent several hours putting together a page, that you might message us before deleting massive chunks of text. It gave me quite a panic.
I don't understand what I need to do? If I work on the text to change the way it is said, would it be ok? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aviationstrategies (talkcontribs) 01:11, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
You can either follow the instructions in the article or rewrite the text. Please note that if you decide to rewrite the text, the reformulation needs to enough so it does not resemble the original text. A limited reformulation will not be sufficient. Thanks and good luck... ttonyb1 (talk) 01:16, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
The thing is, I cannot change the titles of the courses listed as those are the official titles. Nor can I change the objectives as they have been approved by a steering committee.
I can change the basic desciptive paragraph though, is that considered to be enough?
Also, I do hope that you take into consideration my remark. It really isn't very welcoming to well intentioned new users. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aviationstrategies (talkcontribs) 01:18, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Leaving the course listing should not be an issue. You might want to reference the objectives and point to the original site. Please note the article may be marked for deletion because it appears to be an advertisement.
I understand you concern, but the text is always available in the history section of the article and the change was marked in the change description. The reason the text is immediately removed is it not only violates Wikipedia guidelines, but is in violation of U.S. Copyright laws. ttonyb1 (talk) 01:26, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
I changed the text significantly. I mean some of the words are the same. There is only so many ways I can describe it so it's going to sound a little bit the same.
I referenced the objectives as well. If this is an advertisement, so are other pages movies, television shows, companies, schools, etc. This is an info page about a professional accreditation like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartered_Financial_Analyst
Can you remove that nasty looking message now please? Or can I? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aviationstrategies (talkcontribs) 01:43, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

dear Ttonyb1 - can you please advise why you have marked this article for speedy deletion. i can understand if, after several days, the article is not up to WK standards it will be removed. i would appreciate some time to develop the article and explain why the subject is important. best regards.

The article was removed because it did not establish notability for the organization. I suggest you create the article in a User/sandbox and when it is complete move it to the mainspace. If I can be of any assistance, please let me know. Thanks... ttonyb1 (talk) 03:52, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Notice

Thanks for deleting my article. I followed the instructions and posted the response in the talk section only to receive more deletion notices. Please follow wiki guidelines and promote communication rather than blind administration. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Damastaryu (talkcontribs) 2009-06-23 09:43:00

First of all, sarcasm will get you nowhere. Secondly, I did not delete your article, I only nominated it for deletion. I wasn't even the last person to nominate it. The article was deleted after careful review by an admin. That admin saw the same things the rest of us did, the article failed to establish notability for the individual. There was more than adequate communication and guidance in the form of suggested guidelines to read to help you create the article. My best to you... ttonyb1 (talk) 17:11, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Twinkle mess up...?

That was odd, at Pee Pee Creek you marked the page for G3 (according to the summary), but it actually marked it under G6. You may want to "report" his error somewhere (dunno if you were going to anyway). Was going to change it for you, but you got there first :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 17:26, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Actually, it may have been me. I hit the wrong tag by mistake and then corrected it. I am willing bet I caused the issue. Thanks for checking on it. ttonyb1 (talk) 17:32, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Still, it seems strange that it kept the right edi summary. Ah well, I guess it's not really important *shrug* - Kingpin13 (talk) 17:41, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

page on Chandrajit Bajaj

I had added a reference that satisfied all the citations needed in the first section, but you deleted it. When I first added it, it worked perfectly, but after some more edits in the other parts of the page and the addition of two more references, the first references turned to a template and stopped working. I tried several times to fix it but could not figure out how. I finally just clicked "save", hoping that the problem would be obvious enough for you to spot, and further hoping that you might correct it. You deleted it before I could finish writing my talk request for your assistance. Best, Suzbailey23 (talk) 20:02, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I just tried to add the reference again, and it's still turning into a template. What am I doing wrong? Suzbailey23 (talk) 20:06, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Finally got it sorted. The references added should satisfy most of your citation requests. I'm working on getting sources for items I think won't be covered. Suzbailey23 (talk) 20:14, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Ed McMahon death entry

Could you PLEASE stop deleting this entry? He IS a notable and established figure in the entertainment industry, and does not NEED to be an "international figure" to qualify this entry. Edit Centric (talk) 00:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Rather than getting upset about the deletion, it might have been better to have asked why it was done. The entry is probably better placed in 2009 in the United States. My best to you. ttonyb1 (talk) 01:03, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

This was the article:

Moved article to User talk:Kaliefera/grasshopper ttonyb1 (talk) 01:52, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
The article is indeed written like an advertisement. In order to survive, Wikipedia articles need to be written in a unbiased manner that present only Verifiable statements. Statements like, "Grasshopper is committed to maintaining exceptional customer service and high standards for ethical behavior toward customers, suppliers, employees, and the entrepreneur community" is right out of a press release. Additionally, the first paragraph is a copyright violation - it is copied from their website. My best to you... ttonyb1 (talk) 01:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
BTW - I have moved your article to User talk:Kaliefera/grasshopper ttonyb1 (talk) 01:52, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

WTF???

A reference template is not a test page. Your tagging it for speedy deletion is so out of line as to be vandalism. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 05:24, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Huh, vandalism? A bit heavy handed aren't we. How does this action fit into, "Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." As you should know, "Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism." The action was not an attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. It was a good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia. Gee whiz... ttonyb1 (talk) 05:35, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Someone will decline your speedy soon enough, but I won't forget your mistagging of speedy candidates. Your unwillingness to acknowledge your error just compounds it. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 05:38, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I have no idea what the issue is you are having. I will say it again - it was a good faith Speedy tag. I also do not appreciate the veiled threat you made against me. You have failed to follow the assume good faith guidelines and yet you have the gall to threaten me? If it was a bad tag, I was not aware of it being so. As a admin would it have not been a better path to advise me and get me reaction to your note. Look, I am not trying to escalate this, but I really am amazed at your reaction. If I have upset you, you have my apologies, but I also believe i am entitled to one. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:49, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
If it was a bad tag, you'd remove it; you haven't and no explanation why it was considered a test page seconds after it was created. If I was a newbie, you'd have been WP:BITEy in the extreme. If you had assumed good faith, you wouldn't have tagged it without asking, so I suggest that if you are looking for fault, a mirror may be in order as well. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 05:53, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I am not saying I am perfect, but it is hard to remove something that one is not aware is a mistake especially after you deleted the article I tagged. I can see we will not get anywhere with this conversation. I have apologized and tried to explain my action, but your are unable to accept it. I wish you the best... ttonyb1 (talk) 05:59, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
So, I found the move you made and I removed the CSD tag. Is there a reason you did not remove the CSD taq? I am not asking the question to be a "pain" or to create anymore ill feeling, is there a procedural reason you could not have? ttonyb1 (talk) 06:10, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
First: thank you for removing the speedy tag. Second: The author of a page may not remove a speedy tag; s/he must place a hangon tag - doesn't matter if the author is a newbie or admin or Jimbo himself. It wasn't important enough for me to WP:IAR, more so as I am one of the group of admins who believes authors who remove speedy tags consent to the deletion. I wouldn't want to be as hypocrital as a certain southern governor. No pain or ill-feeling, I am sorry to laying into you (you've now earned an apology). Today was more frustrating than usual - as someone a7 tagged an article I started for a town, so there's lots of mistagging and I am probably getting too tired and should go to bed. (Not an excuse, but some context). Cheers, and happy tagging - of other people's stuff ;-P Carlossuarez46 (talk) 06:20, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I honestly did not know you were the author until I let the last tb tag on your user page. BTW - I agree with your opinion about authors that remove CSD tags. I hope I have not contributed too much to your bad day - at least I hope my contribution has subsided. My best to you and again thanks for the apology, the explanation, and I am glad we are OK. ttonyb1 (talk) 06:28, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Jersey child abuse investigation 2008

If you follow the link quoted ([3]) you will see that it acknowledges as it's source the wikipedia article on Haut de la Garenne from which the child abuse article has been split off from. Hi,

Thanks for your message. I've been trying to improve not vandalising the article. However, I don't think the information you deleted is copyrighted only by soundtechniques.tv, because there are many more articles about him having the same passage, and in addition, I know Peter Bradley-Fulgoni himself and he gave me the copyright and permission to put that into this article. In addition I have put the passage into my own words rather than copy and paste the original article - so that should not be a copyright violation. Hope you would agree.

Thanks.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Wtjulianchan (talkcontribs)

Nice rewrite, thank you. It's hard to tell where the passage comes from, but since it exists in print, it is most likely copyrighted. Please note that in order to use copyrighted material in a Wikipedia article one must follow a specific process. Please read the section on donating material to Wikipedia for more information. Thanks again for all your work and if I can be of any assistance please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 16:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

First off, please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~). No one has stated there are nonfactual or insignificant items in the article, only that there is adequate support for the statements. You may want to read biographies of living persons for what is required to support an article. As I indicated press releases are not independent sources. References need to be reliable, verifiable, and independent. My best to you and good luck. ttonyb1 (talk) 04:59, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

The problem is that notability is based on the references. Unfortunately, #5 states, the items can be used if "the article is not based primarily on such sources". ttonyb1 (talk) 05:13, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Enquires to be moderator/editor for a specific page.

Hi Tony ! I am asking if I could be an admin/moderator for a certain page in wikipedia ? It is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BY2. I had spent my time editing it and I hope that I could be the moderator of that page. Wondering if this is possible. Also, is it alright for me to request that the page to be locked, so that no one else can make any editing to the page ?

Thanks :D—Preceding unsigned comment added by TheMemories (talkcontribs)

Hi, unfortunately there are no article specific admins or moderators. administrators go through a lengthly confirmation process and do not spend their time just overseeing one article, but rather they preform many tasks associated with keeping Wikipedia functioning.
Articles are generally locked only in the case of excessive vandalism. When an article is created there is a statement just below the save button that says, "If you do not want your writing to be edited and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here."
Wikipedia is a collaborative venture and is open to all to contribute to. No single editor owns a Wikipedia article. Locking a article would defeat one of the basic reasons for Wikipedia's existence. ttonyb1 (talk) 14:27, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

User:Mediaenterprise

I seem to see you on at the same times I am working on the same articles :D Mediaenterprise appears to be a user solely created to advertise. New article advice

When you have 3 minutes free could you peek at User:Cliffsteinman/zero-turn mower and see tell me if this is enough for a new article in the mainspace? I was looking through New Pages and ended up upon a page that mentioned zero-turn mowers but wikipedia didn't have an article about them. This is just meant to be a small explanation of the machine as a search for zero-turn mowers only brings up product pages and ads so there's no real credible source on them. I worked at Sears in the lawn and garden section so I know a bit about them but I don't want to get a CSD on this one. Cliffsteinman (talk) 06:01, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Actually the article looks pretty good. It may be a little short on references. There are a number of articles in Google about zero turn mowers - you are right about the majority being associated with products. Have you looked at Mowers and Lawn mower to see if there is any redundancy or if your article should be incorporated in them? How about using some of their references for your article?
The article should be OK to move to the mainspace, but lacking more references it might be tagged by another editor. Good luck and let me know if i can be of any help. ttonyb1 (talk) 06:19, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Okay I screwed up. I didn't intend to make it seem like I was using copy infragment. I thought if I put the link of the website of where I got the imformation, it wouldn't be considered copyright infragment. Ugh, can you please explain how it doesn't happen again?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darkeyes7 (talkcontribs) 03:20, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Not a big deal...it's only an article. Unfortunately just adding a link to the originating text is not enough. I would suggest you rewrite it in your own words to avoid the copyvio issue. Be careful not to depend on only a slight reformulation to avoid the copyvio. It has to be written in such a manner that the original text is not evident in the new text. I would suggest you get a couple of resources and combine the ideas in the text into your own words.
Good luck and if I can be of any help, please let me know. ttonyb1 (talk) 03:30, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

About the Neo_(wrestler) article

As i saw, you want to delete the Neo_(wrestler) article, because you says that i'm just a student. Then you wrong. I'm wrestler like anyone else in the main roster, but as opposed to the adults, I still have few things to learn. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.172.188.60 (talk) 15:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

If you reread the AfD, you will see the nomination is because the individual fails to meet the criteria in WP:NOTE, not because you are a student. ttonyb1 (talk) 15:17, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
