Disambiguation suggestion
Hi TopGun, I hope you're well. I have been wanting to disambiguate Independence of Pakistan to Independence Day (Pakistan) and Pakistan Movement. I don't think Pakistan Movement covers much of Pakistan's actual independence, but events leading to it. Independence Day (Pakistan) is more accurate. Let me know what you think. - Hi, it is a matter of redirect and not disambiguation when it comes to this. Disambiguation is needed when two things by the same name have a different meaning. Where as in this case the meaning is the same and we are just looking for the article that is more accurate. I prefer disamb because Indepdendence of Pakistan can mean different things to different people. I'm considering redirecting to the independence section of the History of Pakistan article.--Nadirali نادرالی (talk) 06:21, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- Nadirali Independence pages of other countries redirect to their independence movements. This is the best way to do it. See Independence of Brazil and Independence of Croatia (which are the movement pages). Also see Independence of India which redirects to Indian independence movement. The current redirect to Pakistan movement is the best option. In anycase, this is not a disambiguation. They do not have different meanings. The options you are giving are not different, they are just more accurate and less accurate. Different means as in Mercury where Mercury (element) has nothing to do with Mercury (planet). --lTopGunl (talk) 13:38, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- OK that makes sense. As long as it's shown the same for other countries, I'm OK with it. There will be some pages about Pakistan and/or related to which I'm going to write up in the coming weeks that I'd invite your input on, but don't worry about it for now.
