Hello, i am starting to learn how to embed images from wikimedia commons to wikipedia page. Please be kind to me if I make any mistake, I am still a beginner wikipedia editor. Send me a message if I do smth wrong. thx --Tommaso.sansone91 (talk) 08:42, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create images of icon and add them to Wikipedia pages. To be of relevance, icons have to be in widespread use by a reputable organisation and the icon must be usable under Wikipedia's copyright rules. We can't just invent an image and call it an icon. In general images should be highly relevant to the text that they support and should add encyclopaedic value to the article. I hope that that helps. Thank you for creating the global warming icon![edit]

Greetings new editor! Thanks for uploading

On the English Wikipedia, WP:WikiProject Climate change is using that icon as part of our project templates. It's perfect, thanks! If you're interested in that subject area, consider joining us over there. Just add your name to the participants list. We're just learning how to use categories and templates etc. Eventually we'll ask participants to add or update their own user page with a [{WP:Userbox]] but we're not there quite yet. And then the real fun will begin, tuning up all the climate articles. That work is already underway, of coruse, and you are welcome to edit anytime. You don't have to be a project member. As a new editor, if you have questions and I happen to be around, give a shout and I'll try to help. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 13:32, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
