• Such comments are absolutely necessary. The guidelines for good articles say that criticism sections should be included if the article is to reach B or Good Article status. The article for Big Time Rush should include critiques of the show, positive and negative. You are imputing motives to me which you shouldn't; I have nothing to do with the Boston Globe and I actually like the show (silly as it is). I even rescued your Carlos Pena, Jr. article from deletion because I like the actor a lot. So for you to imply that somehow I'm in cahoots with the Boston Globe shows a lack of good faith on your part.

I was preparing some bits on my hard drive and had it sitting around but yours superseded mine so I justed added the extra bits. From the obit I also had

But that is in conflict with your stuff about Vien being a Ky supporter. Although I find this a bit odd about the Catholics supporting Ky because during the Khanh era, Thieu, Khiem and other Catholic officers had a reputation of trying to go against Thi and Khanh who tried to get Buddhist support by being pro-Catholic? I've made some changes that I think were errors. Can you check the parts about Lam Quang Thi and Nguyen Chanh Thi in particular? • I'm very unlikely to expand any other ARVN bios. I was interested in Vien because he settled in D.C. (Although I have added a few cites here and there -- like to Gen. Vy's bio -- because I already had the cites from the Vien piece.)

I think the Washington Post obit's claim that Vien threatened to resign three times is perhaps slightly inaccurate. I could document at least two from other sources (they are in the article at Cite #106 and #154). One source says he threatened to resign many, many times (e.g., more than three).

As for Vien's apoliticalness, that's already covered in the article (Cite #42). Every President valued his apoliticalness as a means of preventing coups against them. There's a whole paragraph dedicated to his refusal to participate in the Diem coup.

By the way, the Washington Post obituary is already used heavily in the article. Whenever I could find one or more sources that said the same thing, I used those sources rather than the obituary. It helps enhance the notability and makes the article much less reliant on one source.

There's no conflict about who Vien supported: He supported everybody! Remember, he was apolitical. Allegedly, Vien says in his book On Leadership that he believed the country made more progress under Thieu than under any other president. So he also supported Thieu. (I don't yet have a copy of this book, so I couldn't include the cite yet.) As for the Catholics supporting the Buddhist Ky, and the Buddhists supporting the Catholic Thieu, recall that it all comes down to ideology: Ky was adamantly opposed to any negotiated solution whatsoever, which is what the Catholic refugees wanted. And Ky had suppressed the Buddhist uprising of 1966, alienating Buddhists. Thieu would negotiate (on his terms), which alienated the Catholics. And teh Buddhists supported Thieu, because he had not suppressed them.

McFetridge/Horan

Hi Tim, I'm obviously not fluent in WIKI but need to question one of your many valuable entries. You note that Jerry Horan was nephew of William Quesse. William McFetridge (my great uncle) was nephew of Quesse and also past president of BSEIU. I'm wondering if you confused them, or if they were both nephews? I grew up hearing lots of stories about McFetridge. His father is another great study. An orpan himself, shot and killed his brother while his brother held their neice(?) in front of witnesses. Defended himself in court intimidating the jury and was set free! Much was recorded in the paper. • I am not the one claiming that Horan was a nephew of Quesse's. That's the claim of the Chicago Daily Tribune at the time. Given the state of nepotism in the union at the time, I find it reasonable to believe that both Horan and McFetridge were related to Quesse. Nothing I've read says Quesse was Horan's paternal or maternal uncle, just "uncle." It's possible Horan was the son of Quesse's sister. It's also possible the newspaper got it wrong (reporting back then could be quiet slipshod). The problem is that, absent published information to the contrary, we need to go with what the newspaper said. Any online refs?

I'm trying to verify the references in your proposed DYK for John C. Metzler, Jr.. As you know, references do not have to be online references, but it isn't easy to verify references when they are not online. I did a very quick check and did not find the key references online, and chance you know of online references to support the hook?--SPhilbrickT 19:57, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

• Not unless you want to pay to view the article (as I did). These are currently footnotes 4, 5, and 6. The Phibbs/Washington Times source is pay-to-view, but you can see at least part of the Washington Post source (especially the part about living on-site until he was 19) here. The Ruane article from 2010 is freely available online (as you can see from the link in the Bibliography). That's the best I can do. (I have the downloaded articles, still. That won't help, I guess.) Labor unions in the United States

While I appreciate your frustration, and I'm sure you unused to your propaganda being challenged after your silly threats, you're incorrect. The edit I made has a clear citation, and disproved the misinformation that was there prior. I have added a BALANCED and NEUTRAL perspective to what was a propaganda piece.

If you have issue with a specific wording, by all means try to make it a more neutral presentation, however I will undue any attempt at pushing your agenda and trying to make it look like fact. Lies are lies, even if you try really really hard to present them as something else.

Please, by all means, contact a Wikipedia admin over this.
