Re: Userpage[edit]

Thanks mate, I wouldn't have noticed. Just out of interest, what lead you to my userpage? Cheers, Dfrg.msc 03:02, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello The freddinator,

Firstly, my apologies for the delay in progress on this case, as explained at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Sri Lankan Civil War.

I am writing to you because, as a party to this case, your input is required before mediation can begin, to do with an offer by an experienced non-Committee member to mediate. Please see the Parties' agreement to WJBscribe's offer section and provide your input, so that this case can progress. Voting will remain open for seven days, and further elaboration is provided at that link.

College to University is 100% okay. Do not change it[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Conestoga_High_School&curid=3929489&diff=131446440&oldid=131446249

Freddinator, what is listed? University... university... university... Oh, wait, more universities! Wait a minute, Mac!

I will try "college and university" so that both institutions that call themselves universities and those that call themselves colleges are both covered. I'm afraid this is an offer that, if my estimations are correct, cannot be refused. This is a formal encyclopedia, and proper terminology must be used.

Also, you are going to have to learn that "going to university" ought to sound perfectly okay; the British particularly use phrases like this. Now, I understand the American articles are to be geared to US audiences somewhat, so I will allow Colleges and Universities. WhisperToMe 02:07, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with that. The change was made without any discussion or explanation. That is the biggest reason I made the revert. And while we're on the it, since the title of the section is "College and University Maltriculation" should the rest of the paragraph follow suit (parallelism)? The freddinator 10:27, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did that with the rest of the paragraph too :) - "Colleges and universities" is used often in it :) - I mentioned University of Pennsylvania as the top "university" choice as the subject is singular. WhisperToMe 18:13, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind - I got it. The freddinator 19:15, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Removal of Chencholai Air Strike img[edit]

Including the image on any article apart from the Chencholai airstrike article would be a violation of Wikipedia's Fair use guidelines, as the article is not about the air strike itself.--snowolfD4( talk / @ ) 21:52, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Sri Lankan Civil War

I was holding off further discussion in this mediation until the outcome of the deletion debate on Commons. Given that the image that was the subject of the dispute has now been deleted due to copyright issues, is there any reason to keep this mediation open? If none of the parties express a wish to continue with the process, I will close the mediation in a few days. WjBscribe 01:35, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thank you very much for your comment regarding one of my pictures. Though the result is hundred percent oppose, I learned many issues related to photography from your and others comments. Since I am a novice in the filed of photography, I am still in my learning phase and would like to receive tips from you. I hope you won't mind if I request you in future to guide me through your comments regarding my pictures. Cheers. -- Niaz(Talk • Contribs) 14:15, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
