Thanks for the copyediting, I've expanded the article quite a bit: plot now covers the whole game but is more concise, added a short character section with just the main characters and fleshed out the setting section as a result. Sephira Page

Hi there,

You said if I need a page for Sephira (the UK artist not the IE artist) to just write one.

What is wrong with having the info on the same page as the IE based artist?

If a new page is the way to do it then surely the main Sephira page should point to two pages - a Sephira IE page and a Sephira UK page.

I think it would be disadvantageous and slightly unfair to give one artist the main page and not the other.

The fairest solution seems to be to either have one page describing both entities or a page for each entity (neither of which is called just "Sephira").

Please advise.

Ronn Torossian

Thank you for the welcome - it lit a spark in me to get to you. You blocked an edit by someone touching the page here above and I have a comment: I see that while the NYTimes is a valid reference, the balance should be equally as strong. Gawker is not that. You say that the users ought to go to the Talk page, and some have, but editors allow mean spirited edits and remove the edits that try to balance.

If one wishes to argue Gawker is a valid source, maybe the comment on Torossian's style would be the balance to the NYTimes -(that is if you want to argue Gawker=NYTimes)- but the part about the Gawker columnist writing that Torossian not be that bright is just unnecessarily mean and only there for the purpose of disparaging. I would hope true objective Wikipedia editors would see this and realize that this while edit war it about highlighting the issues that make Torossian look as bad as oboased.ne can.

I would appreciate knowing how edits occur and why some people are automatically called shills for an issue and others are considered genuinely non biased. In the case here, this page is being hit by a feud and clearly Torossian supporters are trying to undo the comments that he seems to think reflect badly, but the ones who keep coming back do not seem so pure of heart either. • First, I will assume good faith that you are not one of the Torossian supporters that I have talked with earlier. You must understand that the lack of respect for our policies shown by the earlier users on Torossian's page can really sap one's patience.
• Secondly, I have commented on the source in question on Talk:Ronn Torossian.
• Thirdly, it takes quite a bit of editing here to become familiar with policies and learn how to edit with consensus. No one is "pure of heart", we all have our biases, but I have observed that the vast majority of experienced editors here do their best to balance viewpoints. When a dispute gets out of control, the site administrators do step in and try more formal mediation. There are already several admins who are watching that page. So my advice would be, have patience, comment in good faith on the article's talk page, and engage with those you disagree with. You will find the experience much more rewarding than those who edit-war and write hasty comments. The Interior (Talk) 21:36, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

and that is appreciated. I believe that you are the only one from what I see here who took the time to read the edits and made a comment. That is all I asked. The Torossian page was dormant for a long while and then in February it started up again and some of the writers on the anti-RT side seem bent on bringing up old news. As for his politics, I don't agree or disagree; I just gawk - so to speak. As for Torossian - I know of him, and have followed his news. He has been in business since '03 or so now and stories about his brashness have not been told in over two years. I think he's matured, learned a lot and keeps a lower profile. That the news comes up now and dredges old stuff that is not adding new value or insight is telling to me.

Me: I have edited Wikipedia for years under a different name and have tens of thousands of edits on many pages having little to do with this. Over the past 13 months or so, I dropped out and stopped as my job had me on the road and access to a computer and signal and hours in the day was not great. I also can't remember the password and the email I used is dead so I am beginning anew, but probably wont achieve what I did on the last round.

Sorry for horning in. I just wanted to say that if you know Ronn Torossian personally, as you suggest, you might want to refrain from editing the articles about him and about 5WPR, to avoid a conflict of interest. HOwever, if you have sources (reliable ones, of course) that say that Torossian has mellowed in the last three years, and today has a less aggressive and more conventional PR style, I would be glad to see them and to include them in the story. Appreciate commentary on Torossian page and realize sockpuppets may have existed but that doesnt allow a biased living person bio. Torossian is prominent due to PR work and his bio should be reflected as such. Even Israel work is extremely biased (with blog references, his website used inaccurately reflecting Elon as a client which doesnt appear as client on site, and negative Rabbi comments only). Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 backlog elimination drive report Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for participating in the March 2011 drive! This newsletter summarizes the March drive and other recent events. Participation GOCE March 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs There were 99 signups for the drive; of these, 70 participated. Interest was high mainly due to a link to our event from the Watchlist page. We had a record-breaking 84 articles listed on the Requests page in March; 11 of these have been promoted to Good article status so far. Several of our recent efforts have received Featured Article status as well, and the GOCE is becoming a solid resource for the Wikipedia community. Many thanks to editors who have been helping out at the Requests page and by copy editing articles from the backlog. Progress report Remarkable progress was made in reducing the backlog this month, as we now have fewer than 500 articles remaining from 2009. We are well under the 4,000-article mark for the total number remaining in the queue. Since our backlog drives began in May 2010 with 8,323 articles, we have cleared more than 53% of the backlog. I think it's just a prescription for heartache to take Wikipedia editing tussles personally. Some people are of course more pleasant to deal with than others, but in my own experience The Interior is nowhere near the ugly end of the spectrum. Again Jespah, if having your work criticized or reworked causes you stress then you should stop editing. Or at the very least make a more devoted study of the policies and principles that guide the place so that your work is more likely to fall within them. If you are able to do that then over time you will find that other editors will pretty much leave you alone. Indeed in that regard you really should take something from the fact that in *all* of the many discussions, spread across many pages concerning your edits and style, not one other editor has consistently taken your side of things - sooner or later, every experienced editor concludes that you're unwilling, or unable, to edit independently and responsibly. I am trying to be nice about this, rather than rude, but there is no altogether pleasant way of saying that if there is a problem here, it is almost entirely of your making - and, for that reason, almost entirely your responsibility to correct. I need some help, i've done over 6,500 edits on wikias and want to expand political pages on wikipedia. I really love politics and the whole wikia thing! But it was much easier to move a page name on wikia. I want to move my User:Mikeyandreality/Yonkers City Council to an actual page called Yonkers City Council. Vandalism revert explained: Hotel del Coronado

I admit that the vandalism tag was not correct, but the edit - I feel - is justified. The edit added a discussion of how the architecture of the Hotel del Coronado influenced the design of the Grand Rapids Hotel. There are many copycat hotels that came after the original design. If it is to be included, I suggest a paragraph titled "Architectural influences" or something like that. I can take his work and incorporate it into the article. Good Morning, A few moments ago you removed a large edit I had provided to the Victoria, BC page. Thank you for your note saying the promotional items were not appropriate. May I ask specifically what was too promotional in my edits?

Fortunately I have learned to save this type of work to avoid starting from scratch so here is what I posted. If you could highlight the areas of concern I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Wait a minute, I re-added the opening paragraph which is simply facts with citations and you have removed that again? Please explain how that is too promotional but all the other content surrounding it is okay? Thank you.

The greatest challenge faced by Victoria tech firms is recruitment. With the industry largely unrecognized many qualified potential employees do not think of Victoria as a potential place to find a rewarding career. In response, The Victoria Advanced Technology Council (VIATeC) the local tech industry association charged with promoting high tech industry development in the Victoria region has offered an online job board that typically lists up to 100 current job vacancies in the sector. In April of 2011, VIATeC launched a new web site, VictoriaTechJobs.com that along with job postings includes a resume bank and company profiles for people looking for a tech career in Victoria as well as career profile videos targeted at students considering education and career options.

Tectoria; Where Ideas Grow

To further raise awareness of the burgeoning sector, VIATeC has partnered with its members and launched a marketing campaign in June, 2011 dubbing the region as Tectoria. The campaign is planned for at least three years and includes signage and promotional materials at most of the region's entry points informing the many visitors to the city that not only is Victoria a beautiful place to visit but the option to live and work in the region is possible due to the many tech jobs and investment opportunities. Early efforts included ads throughout the downtown core on parking kiosks as well as the baggage carousels at Victoria International Airport. The campaign aims to reenforce Victoria's reputation as a beautiful place and rich history with new facts about the tech sector. Examples include phrases like; "Welcome to Tectoria...Home of 100 Killer Whales and 1500 Killer Apps".

Please take a look at WP:NPOV. The content you are trying to add is clearly promotional towards the high-tech industry in Victoria. Of the content you propose, I would only weakly support a re-worded version of your first paragraph. The rest is clearly designed to emphasize your group's talking points and drive traffic to your various sites. It is definitely not appropriate for a general-interest page on a city. That should be okay, but I'm a bit worried about the penultimate sentence: "innovation infrastructure" sounds dodgy. Go ahead and add this paragraph to the Victoria page, and I'll make some changes. On another note, Wikipedia does not allow accounts that represent groups or companies. You will have to change you username if you want to continue editing. This was my first edit so I might have hit my head on something there. No worries, I'll get the hang of it, and I'll use the helpme when need be.

Just the picture, I kinda made it sound like it's the whole thing didn't I ? The data seems ok from what I see. The problem is just the big red error message saying the image is wrong, and it's the first thing on the page. It is still a good reference nonetheless, I really didn't have to remove it. News and progress from RfA reform 2011

RfA reform: ...and what you can do now.

(You are receiving this message because you are either a task force member, or you have contributed to recent discussions on any of these pages.) The number of nominations continues to nosedive seriously, according to these monthly figures. We know why this is, and if the trend continues our reserve of active admins will soon be underwater. Wikipedia now needs suitable editors to come forward. This can only be achieved either through changes to the current system, a radical alternative, or by fiat from elsewhere. A lot of work is constantly being done behind the scenes by the coordinators and task force members, such as monitoring the talk pages, discussing new ideas, organising the project pages, researching statistics and keeping them up to date. You'll also see for example that we have recently made tables to compare how other Wikipedias choose their sysops, and some tools have been developed to more closely examine !voters' habits. The purpose of WP:RFA2011 is to focus attention on specific issues of our admin selection process and to develop RfC proposals for solutions to improve them. For this, we have organised the project into dedicated sections each with their own discussion pages. It is important to understand that all Wikipedia policy changes take a long time to implement whether or not the discussions appear to be active - getting the proposals right before offering them for discussion by the broader community is crucial to the success of any RfC. Consider keeping the pages and their talk pages on your watchlist; do check out older threads before starting a new one on topics that have been discussed already, and if you start a new thread, please revisit it regularly to follow up on new comments. The object of WP:RFA2011 is not to make it either easier or harder to become an admin - those criteria are set by those who !vote at each RfA. By providing a unique venue for developing ideas for change independent of the general discussion at WT:RFA, the project has two clearly defined goals: Improving the environment that surrounds RfA in order to encourage mature, experienced editors of the right calibre to come forward, pass the interview, and dedicate some of their time to admin tasks. Discouraging, in the nicest way possible of course, those whose RfA will be obvious NOTNOW or SNOW, and to guide them towards the advice pages. Although the main engine of RFA2011 is its task force, constructive comments from any editors are always welcome on the project's various talk pages. The main reasons why WT:RfA was never successful in getting anything done are that threads on different aspects of RfA are all mixed together, and are then archived where nobody remembers them and where they are hard to find - the same is true of ad hoc threads on the founder's talk page.
