Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Hey, does anybody have an idea for a topic I can write about? Most of the ones I make are either already done, or deemed "too trivial". — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Geckonatior (talkcontribs) 21:48, 29 March 2016

Parti poodles[edit]

It appears that your Parti Poodles article has been merged into the larger Poodles article. While, I was inserting an advice template there, another editor, probably an administrator, merged it in with the Poodles article. The advice I put on the template was that I thought your article should be merged into that one, but the other editor did exactly what I only recommended. You should go to Poodles general article and make sure that all of your information about the Parti Poodles is in there--or put it in. I am sorry that they prematurely merged your article into that one. I would have wanted it to take more time and come about after a discussion and consensus. But, good luck. If you need anything, I'll be here. Garagepunk66 (talk) 10:27, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Advice on editing[edit]

I see that you are keen to contribute articles, but find it difficult to find a suitable topic for which we haven't already got an article. My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make (which you will, because we all do) will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start. Sooner or later you will find a suitable topic to write an article on, but be patient. I had been making small improvements, and reverting vandals, and so on, for quite a long time before I found a topic that I thought needed an article and didn't have one.
