Controversial move[edit]

Without any discussion, you moved Postage stamps and postal history of Great Britain to Postage stamps and postal history of the United Kingdom that is not the common name which all the philatelic literature know the topic as. It is the WP:COMMONNAME and the authoritative philatelic literature, dealers, societies and collectors use this naming structure even though they include Northern Ireland (and usually Ireland pre-1922). It appears to be a throw back to the early days of stamp collecting from the later part of the 19th century and has become the accepted nomenclature. Some people, who don't know the topic think it is wrong but after more than 100 years it is unlikely to change any time soon. Because of where you live, I think you have a better perspective of the impact of the Yeates case, but you will need to demonstrate that to the other editors who have proposed deletion under WP:NOTNEWS. I left some advice on the article's talk page as well as with the originator of the article. As the deletion proposal allows a seven day window for improvement to the article, I recommend exercising patience for a few days to see if the media coverage provides additional material to reinforce notability before attempting to delete the proposal as it would likely go straight to an WP:AFD vote. I was truly humbled by the overwhelming community support for the recent proposal to place featured sounds on the main page. The proposal closed on Tuesday with 57 people in support and only 2 in opposition.

It should take a few weeks for everything to get coded and tested, and once that is done the community will be presented with a mock up to assess on aesthetic appeal.

Finally, I invite all of you to participate in the featured sounds process itself. Whether you're a performer, an uploader, or just come across a sound file you find top quality, and that meets the featured sound criteria, you can nominate it at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates. Featured sounds is also looking for people to help assess candidates (also at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates.)

Completely new abortion proposal and mediation[edit]

In light of the seemingly endless disputes over their respective titles, a neutral mediator has crafted a proposal to rename the two major abortion articles (pro-life/anti-abortion movement, and pro-choice/abortion rights movement) to completely new names. The idea, which is located here, is currently open for opinions. As you have been a contributor in the past to at least one of the articles, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

The hope is that, if a consensus can be reached on the article titles, the energy that has been spent debating the titles of the articles here and here can be better spent giving both articles some much needed improvement to their content. Please take some time to read the proposal and weigh in on the matter. Even if your opinion is simple indifference, that opinion would be valuable to have posted.

Re. your change "Union of India → Dominion of India — I propose this article is moved back to its original title. Under the Indian Independence Act 1947 (see text), the two states which were established were the Dominion of India and the Dominion of Pakistan. "Union of India" is ambiguous as it can refer to the republic as well as the dominion." Excuse me. That is not correct. The state established under the IIA was named simply "India", not "Dominion of India". Read the Act. Its in s.1. Beyond that, even if you are unlikely to agree with me, I'd like more input at the above where I have started a disn. Its gone stale. Not enough interested editors who are bothered with details.
