Reply to your question[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! I would recommend starting with Help:Introduction - that will guide you through the basics of how to edit. As to what to edit, whatever you're interested in! The best way to learn is to do, so just think of a page you are interested in and want to improve, and start making improvements. One thing to avoid; removing sources that are already in the article and appear to be reliable. However, otherwise, don't be afraid to jump in feet first - you will probably make a mistake or two, but that's ok - we all do! Wikipedia explicitly encourages us to be WP:BOLD. Feel free to continue asking me questions as you go, and I'll keep an eye out for your changes. —Ganesha811 (talk) 17:12, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you a lot, I will come to you with my questions, so expect to have a flooded inbox eventually. In the mean time, out of curiosity, is there a article or article section on the mentor system? TheBirdinator3000 (talk) 17:17, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's some more information here. I'm always happy to answer questions - you can also ask them at the WP:Teahouse, which is a space designed for new editors to get answers to their questions, if you want to hear from others as well. —Ganesha811 (talk) 17:31, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I’ll be sure to use the tea house. TheBirdinator3000 (talk) 17:33, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given the interests you shared on your user page, you may also be interested in checking out WP:Wikiproject Birds and WP:Wikiproject Medicine. Wikiprojects are spaces for groups of editors with shared interests to collaborate and assist each other. The folks there might offer useful advice and point out worthwhile articles to edit! —Ganesha811 (talk) 18:32, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, thank you! TheBirdinator3000 (talk) 19:52, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's also the WP:Guild of Copyeditors, where people request articles be given a once-over for format, and volunteers from the Guild fix them! —Ganesha811 (talk) 19:55, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’ll be sure to look at the different projects! TheBirdinator3000 (talk) 19:57, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My best advice - just jump in[edit]

While you're welcome to keep asking questions, my best advice for learning how to edit is to just start editing! You may make some mistakes, but the more you edit, the more you'll learn. Pick an article or topic that interests or you, dive in and be bold! —Ganesha811 (talk) 15:19, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
