Insults don't make you sound more convincing, and there are no moderators on Wikipedia. You're an editor, I'm an editor. Doug Weller (talk · contribs) My apologies for the way I conducted myself in that talk page. I am appealing the block I received for it, but would like to formally apologize for the way I conducted myself there and, if I get the chance, will permanently refrain from conveying myself in such a manner.

Although I must say I do not recall insulting anyone. I admit I gave the impression that people on that page were being obtuse but that seems to be a common opinion when it comes to that talk page. Again I definitely wasn't civil about it though. Test123Bug (talk) 03:44, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Acroterion (talk · contribs) Confused about how this constitutes as racist. Would you like to see the sources that I was talking about? It is clear to me, and others, that the page is biased to be overly politically correct. I will be appealing this certainly but would first like to get some clarification from you on how this constitutes as racist. Also I will be building my case here when someone eventually reviews my block. Here are the sources that relate fixation index (FST) and racial groups of Homo sapiens:

NOTE: Please, do not misconstrue this as "haha I was right so unblock me". It's more like: Know that my conception of what I said was not born in a vacuum. I'm not just an ignorant racist (not a racist at all) spewing nonsense. It's all based off what I have read.

The guide says that I am responsible for convincing the moderators that:

- that the block was not necessary to prevent damage or disruption (i.e., that the block violates our blocking policy); or: - that the block is no longer necessary because you understand what you are blocked for, you will not do it again, and you will make productive contributions instead; or: - that your conduct (under any account or IP address) is not connected in any way with the block (this can happen if a block is aimed at resolving a separate situation and you are unintentionally blocked as a result because you use the same IP range).

For #1:

The block was not necessary to prevent damage or disruption because I realized that the argument I was making, especially in some of the ways I phrased it, was not conductive to the general discussion. Hence why I deleted it very quickly afterwards. There was certainly a more civil way to go about it. Further, I understand that no matter how many evidence there is sometimes, Wikipedia must be cautious about the content it gives. For example, it is racist to state Subsaharan Africans are genetically closer to bonobos. Therefore, putting that in any article (even if it was true, doesn't matter) is strictly forbidden.

For #2

I will henceforth refrain from participating in controversial articles such as the one I was blocked on. Instead I will stick to things that I have an interest in.

For #3

I have made some very constructive edits. I have a degree in Chemistry and have participated in edits for articles related to it. I also study WW2 as a hobby and participate there (even making several connections for the article on Adolf Hitler, which is an example of one of Wikipedia's perfect articles) etc. So I have much to offer and so far I've been putting out a lot of good edits.

One more thing. I reverted my edit because I understand that Wikipedia wants to err on the side of caution when it comes to political correctness. So that's another reason why this block should not be enforced as I understood the error I was making. Will not happen again.
