File source problem with File:Stop Sign.gif[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Stop Sign.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. It's cool[edit]

I actually want to thank you for that. It alerted me to a problem that I saw with my title. I thought it was in bold and italics. But it turns out it was only in bold. So, thanks. I actually even liked it with that turquoise glow, so I probably would've have even left it like that if worse came to worse. Hahaha! But anyway, no problem. We're all just trying here. The point is it was fixed and like I said it alerted me to a problem. Take care! Lighthead þ 00:55, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you know what, that was just an adventure in and of itself. I was just ping ponging around Wikipedia for a long time and I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, and then finally I did. I had found bits and pieces of what I wanted from different people, but then it all gelled. I could tell you exactly where to go, but ultimately as to the specific font and color you want you have to decide for yourself what fits best for you. Let me try to find the place I got the bulk of my information. (It's on my history pane.) And to be perfectly honest, I wish somebody would have given me this information back when I was looking for this, so not to boast, but this information is hard to find. Let me try to find it and I'll get back to you in a second. Sit tight. Lighthead þ 01:42, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you mean by the wikipedia explanations, but here it is! Your comment about the history (it's actually contributions, I messed up with the terminology; I haven't been on Wikipedia in a long time), the history never gets erased, it's always there; Wikipedia is actually a very efficient entity, sometimes too efficient. You can explore in and around this virtual center, but related to your specific query about the title these are the main links you need: Wikipedia:User page design center/Style, you'll find the information about the fonts and colors here; see which one fits best. (If you have any problems here, let me know.) The link and section regarding the specific title information is: Wikipedia:User page design center/Help and collaboration/Help requests/Archive 2#Altering a Title on a page. As you can tell from my upset comment on that page, it just gives you an overview. They also take forever to help you... I mean you can try asking a question, but I wouldn't bother. And, like I said, just look in and around that center, it wouldn't hurt. There's some interesting tidbits of information there. So that's about it. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Thanks! Lighthead þ 02:18, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I messed up. That last link won't be too useful for what you want. It gives you a general idea. What you need is to copy and paste a title like mine, and tweak it by adding your own font and color codes where they go. My font is Impact, and a color code is something like this: #FFFFF. Let me know if you have any problems. Take care. Lighthead þ 02:24, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And not to talk your ear off, but you just have to experiment with the different colors and different fonts to see which one fits best for you. Let me know what you find out. Lighthead þ 02:27, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're most welcome! I've been here for a long time, it should show. There's a saying in Spanish that says: The Devil is smart because he's old, not because he's The Devil. Lighthead þ 02:45, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It looks pretty cool! This is gonna sound stupid but I'm so rusty with Wikipedia that when you said signature I thought you were saying that you didn't like your title and that you wanted to modify it. That's why I kept on sending you information about title. I know... it's dumb. I forgot the lingo. But anyway. I'm not sure if you're doing this but do you know that in your preferences you can lock in your signature, so that if you put the four tildes (~~~~), it places your signature with the markup and everything? I think you already made reference to this on my talk page, but let me know if it was that what you were talking about. Thanks! Lighthead þ 05:07, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. What you should do now is find out what cool thing you can do to link it to your talk page. I'm not sure if it's required here, but just to make it easier for people who want to send you a message. Just a thought. Like I said, I'm not sure if it's required. Lighthead þ 18:56, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Look at the way I do it. I use the thorn symbol: þ, but you can use whatever you want, it doesn't have to be a symbol. Some people use talk to me or some variation of that. You can be creative with that the same way you were creative with the link to your userpage. Just do whatever! Lighthead þ 20:36, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent!! That's real cool! And original. Wow. That's great. Lighthead þ 01:13, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, again. Lighthead þ 01:41, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback[edit]

Hello, Tboii99. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Help desk.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Some issues[edit]

Your request for protection of that evil eye gif is denied. Do not again make such spurious requests: you are wasting people's time. As for your user page: I am going to remove the categories and the icon related to your claim of being an administrator. Be careful lest your career at Wikipedia is cut short because of spurious requests and impersonation. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 02:09, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Per your messages on my talk page[edit]

(Received from you on my talk page)
Dude, you have the coolest talk page! It looks really cool. Tboii99 22:51, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, how did you put that animated pencil thingy on the side of your page like that? It looks cool, and I want to try something like that. Tboii99 22:54, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2012–13 Levski Sofia season[edit]

Hello Tboii99, I have removed the speedy deletion template from 2012–13 Levski Sofia season, as the article will exist in the future, but will probably sit empty until transfers are made, the best idea in this case is to userfy the article, rather than delete it, and move it back once the article is expanded, that way the work that was put into it is not lost. You can see the message on the author's talk page if you want. Cheers, --kelapstick(bainuu) 23:24, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your help desk question[edit]

When I changed it to [positive coordinate] W, it gave me [negative coordinate] E on GeoHack, which basically means it's west. It probably needs to be that way for the various map sites to recognize it correctly. The location after I edited it was appearing in New York like you said it should. - Purplewowies (talk) 00:52, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. Tboii99 00:53, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Common outcomes#Schools. Elementary schools are routinely redirected to their school district or community article unless listed on the National Register of Historic Places or known for momentous events (such as Pesident Bush at Emma E. Booker Elementary School on September 11, 2001. Despite its namesake and any list of alumni, unless it is architecturally or culturally significant on a national level, the article will likely be proposed for deletion Wikipedia:Proposed deletion or listed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, and redirected to List of public elementary schools in New York City#Region 8: Brooklyn. Dru of Id (talk) 01:42, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Does the Public School 111 and Public School 9 Annex count? (It's architectural and is in the National Register of Historic Places) Tboii99 22:41, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'd already looked at that, and while you could make that point, it would probably result as only supporting itself as an article, under WP:Not inherited. Dru of Id (talk) 23:16, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, so what happens now? By the way the page says that that article is the opinion of people, not an actual Wikipedia policy, and I think the official page is WP:N (Not to start an argument or anything). Thanks for the fast feedback! Tboii99 23:58, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
While only opinion, it is one that is cited and followed in most cases, it just has never gotten the supermajority consensus to become policy. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I had to get back to a computer that doesn't shut down because of the gadgets on your page. 1) You can continue to develop the page with the best available sources and linking to the annex which might save it 2) Redirect it yourself or ask that it be redirected 3) At some point, someone is likely to challenge it, regardless of the time and effort you've spent on it. Regardless of how long it stays, even if kept during a discussion, the guidelines could change for schools, in either direction. I just see so many of these that I felt you should be forewarned. Dru of Id (talk) 01:02, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks, I'll think about what I'll do, although there is not much choice. Tboii99 01:05, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and if you want, we could continue the discussion on your page, or even better, the article's page if my page is to much of a hassle for you to reach. Just tell me so, and sorry for any inconvenience. Tboii99 01:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your note[edit]

Hi Tboii99, the main qualifications for rollback are: 1. the ability to identify vandalism and differentiate them from good edits, 2. demonstrating that ability by making reverts, 3. when reverting, not labeling good edits as vandalism. Sadly, I would not grant rollback to you at this moment because I can't see any reverts of vandalism in your contributions; however, after you've had some practice I would have no problem in changing my mind. Hope this helps. Acalamari 09:23, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to do my best! However, is there any place I could find vandalism other than the recent changes page? Tboii99 22:32, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Recent changes is the easiest and most obvious place to find vandalism, though you could try Special:Random but it takes a lot longer. Acalamari 12:55, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. Sorry for the late reply, I was busy. I'll let you know when I think I'm eligible. Tboii99 22:40, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to your question[edit]

I saw your question at the sock puppetry talk page. No, that doesn't sound to me like anything that would be a problem. It clearly sounds like you did not intend anything to be disruptive. It would be entirely different if you made edits under your registered account, and then logged out in order to agree with yourself as an IP, however. I hope that helps. --Tryptofish (talk) 23:00, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Tryptofish. Martin Hogbin (talk) 11:08, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay, because that is not what I do, so I guess it is okay. Thanks! Tboii99 22:16, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I know the question is answered, but I'd like to add an extra point---if you're ever accused of meatpuppetry because you were logged out, and it's a serious matter, you could always contact a Wikipedia:CheckUser to verify you're in fact the same person. Knight of Truth (talk) 22:56, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, got it, thanks! Tboii99 15:55, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Wikipedians who are awesome[edit]

Category:Wikipedians who are awesome, which you created, has been nominated for discussion. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the Categories for discussion page. Thank you. Pichpich (talk) 01:23, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There's not really much to discuss about the deletion of Category: Wikipedians who are awesome. Here's why, I don't care. So go ahead and delete it. I didn't think the category was going to be a big deal, that's all. By the way, what's not funny is you saying "frankly also fails at being funny" Tboii99 01:32, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, that last bit was indeed unnecessary. But I guess I'm just in a bad mood: you see, the problem with these funny categories like the one you created is that at some point someone like me has to spend the time to get it deleted so that we can maintain a meaningful tree of user categories. Pichpich (talk) 01:48, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I get it, and it's my fault for making such a dumb category. I guess I'm sorry. Tboii99 02:08, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No real harm done. :-) Take care, Pichpich (talk) 02:23, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know, I was fooling around with that user and asked him if I could do it, and that afterwards I would fix it. You should check his User talk if you don't believe me. Tboii99 00:22, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I noticed, no worries, just ignore it. Arcandam (talk) 00:24, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images[edit]

Just to let you know I've removed the Real Madrid logo from your userpage, as we cannot use non-free images except on pages for which there is a valid fair-use claim. AJCham 20:48, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, no prob, I probably should have checked for that in the first place. Tboii99 15:15, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also, how do you do your talk page's background like that? I clicked edit and it looked too complicated so I decided to just ask you directly. Tboii99 15:19, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, I got it. Tboii99 16:13, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow![edit]

Wow, you've really done up your page. I'm editing your page and the page notice is really impressive. I don't even know how to do that! Yeah, but anyway, kudos to what you've done, and I really like it. Tight. Lighthead þ 20:19, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's funny that user that you mentioned. I actually annoyed him about something I was curious about one time! I'm not sure if you know that. Lighthead þ 04:35, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I remember vaguely combing through people's styles of something, and hitting upon that person's page. I was impressed about the something that person did. I'm pretty sure it had to do with their page. Oh, yeah; I remember what it was now. It was their userpage title. I was on a quest for the perfect title. The same thing I thought you were wondering about, but had already mastered. Haha. Lighthead þ 23:28, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, so that's the reason I thought that. That makes sense. I notice that my first instincts are based on something. Don't worry about it. As long as you put it back it doesn't make a difference. =) Lighthead þ 00:12, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, man. That is one of the most annoying things. That's like a major reason I'm not that active on Wikipedia anymore. I hate that so much. But guess what; that's Wikipedia. It really is just a huge bureaucracy. If you want to continue on Wikipedia despite that, the only thing I recommend is to learn as much as possible about as many rules as you can. The funny thing is that it's so political that if I were to get back on Wikipedia, I would have to in a sense relearn some of the more intermediate to advanced rules. I might be wrong, but I think it would even be hard to know every single rule on Wikipedia. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a handful of people that know every single rule by heart. Can I say that those people have a life? No. Hahaha. I on the other hand do. I would just recommend to take it easy, I don't think you should obsess about knowing everything that people think you should know on Wikipedia. Life is too short. It's easy to get burned out if you take it too serious. Hey, it's happened to me at least 3 times since 2006. That's just my advice. But you can either take it or leave it, you know. To each his own. But I would suggest you pace yourself on Wikipedia if you want to remain relatively active. Lighthead þ 02:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yeah; you still have to follow the basic rules to at least not get into trouble. But my point is that don't think you have to know every single rule to be an effective editor. Learn all the rules possible according to being a new page patroller, and then every once in a while try to do research on other rules just to broaden out your horizons. But you know how Wikipedia is, once you think you've mastered all the rules, somebody comes out with another rule! The good thing is that other experienced editors and administrators don't usually fault you for not knowing a certain rule as long as you explain to them that you weren't purposefully trying to do anything malicious. Also, like I said, don't get overly obsessed with learning a lot of rules, because that's an easy way to burn yourself out. Just learn as many as possible within the sphere that you want to control. =) Lighthead þ 22:38, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's just what I've learned over the years. I'm actually suffering from a burnout right now from pushing myself too hard on Wikipedia about 6 months ago. And thanks for reading that essay. I'm sort of embarrassed about it now. Hahaha. I still feel that way, but I think it reveals too much about how I think, in unflattering ways. I think the humor I inserted sounds dated. But anyway, thanks for taking the time. It shows interest. Lighthead þ 04:09, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'm glad somebody likes it. I actually like the majority of what I expressed, but a lot of it sounds goofy to me; I don't know. Lighthead þ 22:39, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly!!! Lighthead þ 22:55, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I realize that, too. But I don't want to edit it, now. It almost looks like I'm censoring myself. I want to keep it the way it is, pimples and all. Haha. Lighthead þ 22:58, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just my opinion. Lighthead þ 01:04, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Tboii99,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
