December 2021[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website - I have blocked this account. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a change of username of your current account here. The new username must represent only yourself as an individual and comply with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:29, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Zhi Lin, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! — Diannaa (talk) 15:31, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

Please help me with... Hello,

My account has recently been blocked for the username. This account is used by employees of the Tacoma Art Museum to update information on our Wikipedia page. How can we have our account unblocked for the purposes of updating our business page?

Thank you very much for your help. I greatly appreciate it.

Warmly,

Zach Berry Marketing & Communications Specialist Tacoma Art Museum TacomaArtMuseum1701 (talk) 23:47, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Zach. Unfortunately, according to Wikipedia policies such as the one against role accounts and the conflict of interest guideline, your account's stated purpose is against Wikipedia policy. However, you are free to create your own account and make edits to areas where you have no conflict of interest. You are also free to use your own account to suggest edits to articles where you do have conflicts of interest on their talk page. For example instead of directly editing Tacoma Art Museum, you are free to suggest a change using your personal account on Talk:Tacoma Art Museum. Good luck with future editing, and I hope to see you around the encyclopedia soon! ☢️Plutonical☢️ᶜᵒᵐᵐᵘⁿᶦᶜᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿˢ 01:21, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
