Hello, THX1136! I'm Huon. I have replied to your question on the Articles for Creation Help Desk about Hawks (band).

Explaining[edit]

I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all.

"s" following possessives of proper names ending in s[edit]

Hi, the current correct usage for possessive proper names ending in "s" is to include the possessive s after the apostrophe. This has been the case for the past 20 or so years. Even though there are those that still do not use this format (like the serial comma, it has become somewhat optional), the possessive s is the preferred form, even for names like Jesus, Moses, Judas, etc. I'm letting you know so you don't end up wasting your time. I'm going to revert your changes to Jesus Christ Superstar. Thanks. If there's any clarification needed, discuss on that Talk page. Thanks, and happy editing! Softlavender (talk) 00:53, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

While the "s" usually follows the apostrophe in most situations involving apostrophized possessives, there should be an exception in this situation. For instance, if the word already has a plural "s" before it becomes possessive, then when turned into a possessive, the apostrophe will come after the "...s" that was already on the word. If the word is singular, but already ends in an "...s" before it becomes a possessive, then, when turned into a possessive, the apostrophe comes after the "s." This is how it should look:
  • Mr. Fullerton's watch (regular singular possessive)
  • The Fullertons' car (i.e. the family--plural possessive)
  • James' car (possessive for singular word already has an "s" at the end)
It depends on the situation. Changes in placement of the apostrophe (for possessives) are done so that we can be clear what we mean. Garagepunk66 (talk) 21:04, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Your argument would have to be taken up with Softlavender. I had done the edits s/he referred to according to the guidelines you suggest - that's the way I have always understood this situation. Softlavender suggests otherwise and appears to have the cred to back up the claim. Makes no difference to me either way. I just want to do things correctly and avoid unnecessary work during editing. Thanks for your input.THX1136 (talk) 01:35, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ultimate Spinach[edit]

Hi, you discussed this band awhile ago on its talk page, citing how much improvement it needed. I wanted you to know I did my best to rewrite it. I was wondering, if you have time of course, if you could read it and tell me if you are satisfied with its additions. I thought they deserved a better article and I gave an effort to do so, so hopefully you will like some of it.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 23:31, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad you like the improvements. I always liked the band and thought it was a shame that the article did not equate to their importance. Thanks for fixing the grammatical errors, my mistake.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 23:21, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Baskin-Robbins[edit]

Hello, THX1136! Thanks for contributing to BRight Choices discussion on the Baskin-Robbins article's Talk page. I was wondering if you'd be willing to review my request at Talk:Baskin-Robbins/Archive 1#Updates_to_History as well. The article is a bit outdated so I'm trying to suggest a few improvements. Thanks again! EC at Dunkin' Brands (talk) 23:50, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

D&K rewrite[edit]

You might want to do it in a draft space or a temp space because the method you've elected is leaving duplicate information in the article. Also, the rewrite needs references and Wikilinks. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:29, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I realize I'm doing it the hard way, but I do not know how to use a draft space. I rewrote the history portion in a word processor with the cite refs so I could copy and paste along with doing the cites in the appropriate spots. If you can offer some direction I would appreciate the help. Thanks, Walter.THX1136 (talk) 20:33, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of chocolate bar brands[edit]

I started a new discussion on inclusion. I we need a consensus on variants and chocolates not in bar form. I removed After Eight, Bun Bars, Cherry Mash, Glossettes, Rolo. They are not bars. We need a discussion so a consensus is reached for criteria for inclusion. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 15:09, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did some major edits and additions to the list. Now to find more references. You can help with that. Also responded to you on the talk page. Actually ping me using {{Ping|Fishhead2100}} or {{u|Fishhead2100}}. This way I will see your responses instantly when I am on. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 02:47, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Glyn Johns article[edit]

Hello, I just added a big expansion of text to the Glyn Johns article. While I was working on it in may sandbox over the last few years, I took extra care to make sure that each person's contributions stayed in the article--so I would make regular periodic checks and updates of everyone's edits and insert them into my sandbox text.

I noticed that you made several very fine edits to the article, so I made sure to keep that material in the article. In some cases, I moved certain statements to other places, etc. I liked the rf method of citations when you made references from Glyn Johns' book. However, since I had all of these other references from his book in my sandbox already done in the Harvard stye (sfn and sfnm notes along with bibliography entries), I merged your citations into the sfn/sfnm format, so they would all be congruent. All of your citations are still there--same page #s just embedded into the other format.

Best wishes to you! Garagepunk66 (talk) 06:48, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the update and thanks for your work on the article! It was good to hear from you too. THX1136 (talk) 13:24, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
