Notability

Hi, SusuGeo and welcome to Wikipedia! I really appreciate all the work you've been doing to add articles for women athletes! I wanted to share a bit about the notability guidelines on Wikipedia. On Wikipedia, "notability" has a specific meaning that determines whether a subject should have its own Wikipedia page. A subject is presumed to be notable if "it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" (per the general notability guidelines). At this time, athletes are not considered notable simply because they are part of a national team (see Wikipedia's notability guidelines for sports). Databases that provide statistics for many athletes also do not count toward determining notability. About Draft:Soraya Degheidy

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Soraya Degheidy a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Soraya Degheidy. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. I recently came across the article you created on Fatima Sacko.

I noticed the "Getty Images" reference you used merely gives a trival mention and is not suitable as a reliable source per WP:TRIVIALMENTIONS. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources and WP:NERROR.

Also, the lead section could flow better if the sentences weren't all starting with "she."

"Fatima Sacko (born April 12, 1985 in Paris) is a Guinean basketball player. She also has a dual nationality of Guinea and France. She is 6 foot tall (183cm). Hello, SusuGeo,

If you want to really be part of a community of editors here at Wikipedia, it would help if you would respond to other editors, whether they are to messages on your User talk page or participating in AFD deletion discussions about articles you have created. If articles you have created have been nominated for AFD discussions, instead of keeping creating similar articles, go to the deletion discussion, find out what problems there are with other articles you have created so you can avoid them in the future. Wikipedia is not isolated editors working on their own but a community that has come together to form policies and debate which articles should be deleted or improved. I think you'll get more out of your editing experience if you engage with other editors and make this platform your editing home. Good luck with your editing. Liz ^{Read!
