January 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm SummerPhD. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Aqua String Band, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Please discuss the issue on the article's talk page. SummerPhD (talk) 04:12, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm StringBandDivisionThesis. I see that you've removed an item that I had placed in regards to the Aqua String Band. I have reverted your omission, as the reliable source was indeed listed. Thank you for your interest in keeping our Wikis accurate.

As discussed on the talk page: You included a source. You feel it is "reliable". However, it is a self-published source, not a reliable source. - SummerPhD (talk) 05:35, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from continually dragging out the matter at hand. It is getting old. Your "personal opinion" regarding whether my source is reliable no longer matters. It is a reliable source and has been continually utilized throughout the Mummers' String Band Community as such. Sorry you personally disagree.

That the "Mummers' String Band Community" utilizes it does not demonstrate that it fits Wikipedia's definition of a reliable source, outlined here. If you feel it does, please explain how on the article's talk page. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 15:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Subject matter already has been explained. Edit reverted.

Wikipedia is built on WP:CONSENSUS. \You disagree with me. The issue is being discussed. While the discussion is on-going, the maintenance tag should remain in place. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:06, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't shown where the current topic is being discussed at. Please provide the link and/or location of the discussion. Until then, I see no reason to keep a maintenance tag stating the subject matter at hand is "dubious".

I "haven't shown where the current topic is being discussed at"? You are part of that discussion on the article's talk page. I have moved it to a section headed "Dubious" to address your concern and would appreciate you restoring the tag as a sign of good faith. Otherwise, I will restore it shortly. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:21, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"You are part of that discussion on the article's talk page" I am? You haven't shown who and what will be involved in the decision-making here. "Moving an article to a different page" doesn't even come close to explaining what you're trying to accomplish here, and the "how it will be accomplished" as well. Because of this, I will not be able to allow an incorrect maintenance tag in this article. If you have further information you would like to share, please do so here. Thanks.

The issue is being discussed on the article's talk page (where you have been commenting) and the reliable sources noticeboard. The issue will be resolved by WP:CONSENSUS. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:33, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  only (talk) 22:46, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Aqua String Band. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. SummerPhD (talk) 04:00, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/StringBandDivisionThesis, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
