Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into The Milagro Beanfield War (novel). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. You could have moved it back once the redirect had been deleted, or asked someone with pagemover rights to move the draft over the redirect. Spicy (talk) 17:32, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

@Soundsliketeatime: Hello. Thanks for coming here! Firstly: see WP:EXTERNALLINKS. At Draft:Junior_Enterprises_Global#Members, there are too many external links. Other-language Wikipedias are not very reliable, as there are less people patrolling those wikis. Also, see WP:PUFFERY. @Soundsliketeatime: Hi. The removal of the links makes it safe from spam speedy deletion for now. However, I believe it needs a rewrite in order to be accepted. As I am not the most experienced at editing articles, I recommend you go to the Teahouse and ask there, where a lot of more experienced AFC reviewers and editors exist. See WP:RESUME. The tone is highly promotional. If you want more detailed advice, I recommend yo see the WP:TEAHOUSE. Finding the right venue for reporting

Whilst I have responded to your report of User:X2XTeam at WP:AIV, I thought I'd let you know that that was not the right venue to raise your concerns because their edits were clearly not vandalism. You were right to flag their userpage per WP:CSD U5, and I have deleted it. But their promotion of their business was not vandalism, and the right venue next time would be WP:UAA. Nick Moyes, I agree that the edits were not vandalism. The reason I made the report was that I thought it was spam, and spam was mentioned in AIV. I use Twinkly. There is an option in twinkle called "Evidently is a promotion-only account". When is it appropriate to report spammers to AIV? Steve M (talk) 00:28, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
I didn't interpret it as WP:SPAM as they didn't seem to have edited anything other than their userpage. So that's clearly not vandalism, is it? The userpage was deleted as a result of you correct CSD tagging as WP:NOTWEBHOST, and then I 'softblocked' theirt account for having a promotional username, which is relevant to WP:UAA. Only when articles in mainspace are repeatedly edited to include spam/promotional links is that a WP:AIV issue, and then only after edits beyond a 4th level warning have occurred. @Nick Moyes: Sorry if my comment(s) sounded harsh. I have not taken it as criticism. I asked questions in order to clarify and avoid future inappropriate AIV reports. I removed all my AIV reports related to this. It makes sense to me. So basically, am I right in saying that AIV is only for spam past the 4th warning or very rapid-fire bot-like spamming in over 5-10 articles? If the answer is yes that I understand everything. (edit conflict) Yes, that sounds right. Quite often my first warning to an editor is at the 2nd level - it depends how egregious their edit is. What frustrates me as an admin is when an editor leaves a warning and then immediately reports that user to AIV, and expects us to respond with a block. I refuse to block on that basis (there is one very experienced and generally very good anti-vandalism editor whose AIV reports I now mostly ignore because they so often fail to put the work in to warn and then to monitor for repeated poor behaviour. Nick Moyes, on a relavant sidenote, is this an appropriate way to respond to spam/vandalism? Because I want to know if changes are needed in my way of addressing vandalism.
Nonsensical edits: warn level 1, sometimes test edit
Offensive/profanity vandalism: warn level 2
RD2 worthy material: warn level 3
Oversightable material or rapid fire IP vandal: warn level 4im
Vandalism past 4 or 4im level warning: report to AIV
Account that has blatantly vandalized in over 4 edits, or has an obviously profane/disruptive username and has vandalized over 2 times: report as vandalism-only account Steve M (talk) 01:03, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi Steve M, You recently reviewed a page I wrote about Raise3D. You said it sounded like advertisement and you had some feedback about the sources. I am afraid I do not fully understand what you meant in your comments. I am not sure how the draft came off as an advertisement. And I am not sure what you meant in the comments about the sources.

Just so you understand my logic, I thought listing facts about the machines was remaining neutral. And as for the sources, I thought I did use notable, independent sources for the 3D printing industry. I am not sure where I went wrong.

Any further explanation would be very appreciated.

Draft: STEMconnector

Hi Steve,

I was working on a draft "Draft:STEMconnector" that was nowhere near ready to be reviewed and I see that it was deleted. I can no longer access the text I had on the document to be able to modify and fix the issues. Can you please un-delete the draft so that I can go in and make the chnages? I've effectively lost all of the work I did previously with it being deleted and I was not ready for review either... i was just trying to save it so it wouldn't get lost. I have a ton of changes I need to make on it so that it fits Wikipedia's guidelines but as of right now I don't have anything to work on because all of the text and work that I did is gone. Please help!

George Gewinner edit removal

Steve, I've made a number of small phrasing edits to my George Gewinner article today. Each edit was intentional and designed to improve readability of the article. Not safe to assume. George's birth certificate birth name was "Georg" which is the normal German spelling. He began using George because everyone here called him George. Yes, for garbage like "Joe Smith, living legend" or "certified baddie" absolutely. For anything that looks like it could be good faith, probably best to revert with "non-notable" or something similar in edit summary. OhNoitsJamie Talk 01:01, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Good work with reverting non-notable people additions, but...

I noticed that you used the 'living person biography' template here, was that a mistake? Warner Robins appears to be a town and not the name of a person. I feel like you're probably aware by now, or maybe I'm just parsing the template wrong- is it that they edited information on a living person within the article? Either way, the phrasing makes it sound like the article is a biography in and of itself. I'm a relatively new editor and you're an experienced one, so I feel like I'm probably the one missing something here, but I thought I'd let you know anyways.

I don't think so. Pinterest i a user-made source, and amino is a social networking platform. Not all people are notable. For the general guideline, see WP:GNG. I'm sorry is I was a bit too harsh, but there are a lot of people adding random people to the "notable people" list. They are originating from a TikTok video, and there is a huge surge of inappropriate additions to "notable people" lists. Thanks for coming here, Steve M (talk) 02:00, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
