The page has been developed since you wrote your note above. You have most certainly noticed that, but anyway - sorry I didn't notice it until now. StenssonSK (talk) 07:31, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am not at all sure what is happening over at Carl L. Thunberg, but the claims being made for him seem far too large for his very limited activities. He seems to be a minor popular historian and in charge of a country museum, neither of which exactly qualify him for being described as a professional historian or archaeologist. I see you've also edited the museum article, so I wonder if your enthusiasm for the area has not led you to talk up Thunberg somewhat. Please note that his own publications do not provide evidence of notability; obviously, reviews by scholars or newspapers of his works would be proof that he is indeed notable. Right now, he looks a very doubtful candidate for a Wikipedia article of his own. I've tagged the article for notability and possible conflict of interest, though it may well be that neither you nor other editors have more than local matters at heart. It is essential, however much you like or admire the man or the museum, that you write about him strictly neutrally, using reliable independent sources. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:08, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Chiswick Chap, Mr. Alexander,
Thank you for your friendlier response,
I am not the person who would hold on and "fight" in matters like this, far from it. And as I said on Thunberg's talk page, I absolutely do not want to cause any problems and worries, and especially not for Thunberg, who is a living person who has done nothing wrong.
One aspect that appears to be particularly important in this though, and which I want to point out with determination, is the fact that there are actually many published scholarly works that cite Thunberg's work. Good examples of such works that quote him are:
Beronius Jörpeland, Lena; Göthberg, Hans; Seiler, Anton; Wikborg, Jonas (eds.) (2017). At Upsalum – människor och landskapande. Utbyggnad av Oskustbanan genom Gamla Uppsala. Arkeologerna Statens historiska museer, Upplandsmuseet and Societas Archaeologica Upsaliensis ; Pedersen, Anne & Sindbæk, Søren M. (eds.). 2020. Viking Encounters: Proceedings of the Eighteenth Viking Congress ; Sorgenfrei, Simon (2018). Islam i Sverige de första 1300 åren ; Wolf, Kirsten; Mueller-Wollmer, Tristan (2018). The Vikings: Facts and Fictions ; Saenko, Alexandr (2021). ”The battle of Fyrisvellir as dualistic ’Cornerstone’ of Swedish andDanish historiography”. In: Humanities and Law Studies Scientific Bulletin, 1, 2021. FederalState Autonomous Educational Institution for Higher Education, Moscow.
Best regards, and probably enough from me in this matter, StenssonSK (talk) 09:59, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't been logged in for quite a while and missed this unfortunately, but I am otherwise generally interested to participate in things like this. Best regards/ StenssonSK (talk) 00:29, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
