Hoax problem advice[edit]

In regards to this edit of yours, I would have went with your gut feeling, leave the May 29th item as is and document the hoax on the 30th. AFAIK there's no established way of handling hoaxes. That said when it comes to conduct (reverts especially), if you are dealing with that (or any other) user one to one, it's the user who gets reverted has the upper hand: technically you are supposed to stop reverting on grounds of WP:BRD but you can get around that if you decide to force the issue because the other person would be the first to violate WP:3RR. I wouldn't advise doing that for all sorts of reasons (e.g. WP:BOOMERANG, WP:BATTLE and WP:CONSENSUS) but it's your nuclear option provided of course that you have a really good reason for reverting like that. The usual way would be to take it the talkpage first, discuss it there and if it doesn't work resolve it through these steps which I see is kind of what you did on the May 29th article talkpage so good on you. Any further questions or advice you need from me and I'll be happy to help (and vice versa). Wingwraith (talk) 04:27, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all the advice. Its very much appreciated. I'm glad to hear my gut response wasn't that far off. I'm still rather green to this whole editing thing. So I probably will take you up on that, and come to you with other questions again sometime. And, of course, the same to you. You're welcome on my talk page anytime. Thanks Again!
