Well, I've gone and done it and the Aggie Band article is up for Featured Article status. Any feedback (especially support) would be greatly appreciated. BQZip01 talk 08:50, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

So You Think You Know James Bond

I've removed this addition to the Bond books template. The template only lists novels and short stories and related fictional works.. The book you added is a quiz book. 23skidoo 19:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

I am afraid that I do not have the time to do a proper copy edit of Karmichael Hunt right now. I'm very sorry - I should have looked at the article before I agreed to do it. While you have a lot of information there, much of it needs to be massaged into a more eloquent formulation. That often takes a lot of work - hours, in fact. I just do not have that kind of time right now. Awadewit | talk 04:51, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

I'll take a look at the article shortly. I would like to give you some advice: asking simultaneously for a peer-review and an A-class review can be perceived as pushing, certainly when you move your request to the bottom of my talk page after another message was left. Errabee 10:23, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I have limited time for Wikipedia as of late (and it's being spent at WP:FF), so I have to put copy-editing on hold. Sorry :( — Deckiller 16:44, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello. I'll fix a few structural and grammatical errors there and there, but you would be best served by returning to the League of Copyeditors and soliciting the aid of a member who is also involved in WikiProject: Biography. The reasoning is largely that that person is likely more familiar with biographical articles, their structure, how leads should be structured, and other technical details. That person will likely do a much better job than I will; especially considering that I rarely edit biographical articles. Thanks for the request though, I highly appreciate it. Sephiroth BCR (Converse)
Yeah, I'm not done. The problem is after tonight I'm tied down in other obligations. I would recommend that you follow up on my suggestion above to acquire the aid of a League of Copyeditors member who is experienced in WikiProject:Biography. Otherwise I won't be able to come back to that article for some time. The lead needs to be expanded, and other issues need to be addressed. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 08:37, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Will try to. I'm currently experiencing connection problems for the past few days. - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 16:29, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for not responding sooner - I was out for a few days. I'll try to help w/ this article as best I can, but I agree w/ Sephiroth BCR - you're probably best off finding someone who is familiar w/ editing biographies.Soojmagooj 06:23, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

As the article is in dire need of references, do you think that we should tag each specific reference-needing statement with {{citation needed}}? Cliff smith 16:59, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments.

Glad to help. --Tovojolo 11:24, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I have also posted a couple pointers as the article moves along in quality, on the article's talk page. Hope that helps, and keep up the good work! Yours, Smee 04:28, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

This template {{User James Bond}} is supposed to put everyone who has that template into the category Category:WikiProject James Bond participants.

However it dosen't. But on my user page User:SpecialWindler, it has the category in the list (down the bottom) but when I open it, it's empty.

I actually have, kinda. Yesterday I spent some time trying to find information on the comic book, coming up empty. I have been meaning to spend more time on it, but the fact is I've been a little stretched for time this whole month. Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the project that I started. New layout for Karmichael Hunt

I really like the look of the proposed format! I also like the quote boxes. The other format that someone had changed them to last week looked too wishy-washy and they seemed to dissolve into the main body of text. Have you had a play with alternating them left align, right align, just to vary it a bit? Florrie 10:45, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Copyediting for Karmichael Hunt

Done. Feel free to make changes. I have not looked at the punctuation, etc. on the footnotes or the quote boxes. Fishal 16:57, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Looking at some of the other comments on this page, I'd say you might want to have a look at Wikipedia:Canvassing. I'm happy to copyedit things you send my way, but other people can get annoyed when they feel that people are sending out mass pleas for help. Fishal 21:35, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Karmichael Hunt copyediting.

Sorry it took me so long to get around to copyediting Karmichael Hunt, per your request. I suddenly and unexpectedly got slammed with stuff to do both at work and at home and haven't been on Wikipedia much at all for a couple weeks.

It's an interesting article. I made some minor punctuation and grammer fixes, but overall it wasn't bad in that department. I see you've had some other people copyediting it, and that's good.

I tried to point out a few areas where the article could use improvment content-wise. There are a few points where you say things that peak the reader's curiosity and make them want to know more, but leave them hanging. Maybe the sources you use are silent on those, but if you could find the information it'd be nice to know.

You've done a good job with it. This is coming from someone who's not a sports fan, and knows zilch about rugby. His loyalty to a certian team and area that is not of his birth is intriguing, and a good hook to draw readers like me into the article. Good job. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 03:17, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

get a bot to tag needs-infobox=yes on WP:RL box, if players in player category don't have that infobox. SpecialWindler talk 12:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Buildings and architecture of Bristol

Thanks for your GA review & comments on Buildings and architecture of Bristol. As you suggested I've changed "in" to "throughout" (para 2 of lead). The first reference of the bibliography is a journal (hence the volume & pages nos) so doesn't have an ISBN - I can't find the ISSN, which should be on a journal, either. I will have a think about the section you suggest comparing the time periods. Thanks again. — Rod talk 19:11, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

helpme

{{helpme}}

I am trying to make a template. Here it is {{leagueicon}}

I am having diffuculty trying to use the switch thing.

The synatax is as follows

{{leagueicon|Brisbane}} should output [[Image:Brisbane colours.png|16x16px]]
But I also want this one {{leagueicon|Queensland}} to output [[Image:Queenslandcolours.png|16x16px]] (note, no space)

So I tried to subsitute so that "Brisbane" would output "Brisbane_". But it dosen't seem to work.

I only need for the switch thing to work, because I need to do a good 50 switches, but I need to get the first one right.

I have been testing it out on User:SpecialWindler/Sandbox

SpecialWindler talk 06:00, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't have the time to help you more, but you should get a look at the syntax behind {{CUI}}. That's probably exactly what you want to do. -- lucasbfr talk 06:46, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I removed the helpme tag, if I need more help I will re-instate it

Your bot request

Hi, I just had another look at your request. It appears that I did misunderstand what you intended the bot to do (sorry, I'm entirely unfamiliar with rugby, its players and leagues). I'll do some more checking and afterwards, I'd be happy to reconsider your request. Cheers --S up? 13:18, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I've had a chance to look things over. I see that you're a member of the Rugby league project. If there's consensus that this should be done (ie. your project agrees), I don't really have any objections at this point. -- S up? 13:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

A-class review of Karmichael Hunt

Hi, I would like to point out that we do have a real life next to being an editor on Wikipedia. We have given you feedback on Karmichael Hunt, so I think it's inappropriate for you to complain that you haven't received any attention. Now I'm going to fail the A-class review for two reasons: if it passes the Featured Article process, it won't have use for A-class anymore; and second, I think all those infoboxes are really distracting from the content. Why does on Queensland state rugby league team players, the template {{leagueicon}} suddenly stop working in the "2007 series" section. The template outputs little square coloured boxes. as it has done so, throughout the article, then the first one it works, but the rest it dosent?? Why. There dosent seem to be anything wrong.

SpecialWindler talk 23:27, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm not absolutely sure, but I believe that there is a limit as to how many transclusions of template that you can have in a single article. I have seen this behavior before in very long lists of names which use the {{birth date and age}} template. I would suggest that you ask your question at WP:VPT to get a better answer than I can provide. --After Midnight 0001 02:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Thx for the help Joel on the GF 1995 article. Those player line up tables are certainly fiddly. Thx also for the Barnstar. Most touching. 'tis the 1st i've received. - Sticks66 09:49, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm familiar with this Hunterlink site that I've used for old Kangaroo Tour lists and World Cup results. http://www2.hunterlink.net.au/~maajjs/res/ I hadn't seen the one you showed me today for the 1995 onwards lists of all rounds and players. Uh, on the "To do" list I want to work on the "Characters" part and I'm a little confused on what you are trying to ask!!! I know my question might sound stupid, but I just want your point on it, before I do something wrong!!!! --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:20, 05 July 2007 (UTC)
