Your question[edit]

I am OK with most of the changes you made to the content I added yesterday, but I don't understand why you removed the small section of description in the first paragraph (giving people a sense of exactly where Greendale is and mentioning Southridge Mall -- which is the largest mall in the state).

Also, was there a problem adding some detail about the structures at Trimborn Farm?

Finally, is there some rule I am not aware of forcing us to keep two sets of census data? I do not see this on other cities and villages. It seems very redundant and takes up a large portion of the page.

Ask RFD. He's the one who made the edits in question. 32.218.36.17 (talk) 21:34, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You referred me to RFD and told me to ask him a question about some changes he made to some of my additions. However there does not appear to be a way to talk to RFD -- it says he is having health issues and may not be able to respond. So I cannot see how to send him a message. He should not be able to change things if he is unavailable to discuss why he is doing so.
Post a question on his talk page. He'll get to it when he can. There is no requirement that editors must be johnny-on-the-spot to answer your questions. And please sign your talk page comments. 32.218.36.17 (talk)

Census 2000[edit]

Many other villages and cities DO have both 2010 and 2000 census:

Promotional material at Greendale, Wisconsin[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Greendale, Wisconsin. Edit warring at Greendale, Wisconsin[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Greendale, Wisconsin. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. 32.218.41.230 (talk) 00:33, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I really hope you aren't too discouraged by all these warnings, especially given these emanate from temporary accounts. They probably all belong to one or more editors who consider themselves 'The unblockables', just one big "extremely sad" power trip. 82.30.110.20 (talk) 04:52, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, the supplied sources are not sufficient. See WP:WTAF and WP:LISTPEOPLE. Normally we do not list people in lists of notable people unless they have a Wikipedia article. In rare cases we make exceptions, but only when the person clearly would qualify for an article if one were written. The sources must be sufficient to show that the person can be presumed to be notable. I don't see enough there to show that she clearly meets WP:ENTERTAINER or WP:ANYBIO. Meters (talk) 17:56, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies[edit]

Hi, I apologise for the somewhat rude edit summarys reverting the mission statement on the East Troy Electric Railroad article. While mission statements are perfectly fine for the organisation website etc, they are discouraged on wikipedia in most cases as explained at Wikipedia:Avoid mission statements. This is because they are usually platitudes, copyviolations, and are similar to other organisations in the same field. For example, thousands of school mission statements are fundamentally very similar in most cases, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 19:55, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Apologies[edit]

Thank you for at least explaining your edits. I read the info from Wikipedia about Mission Statements. Our statement is neither long nor flowery nor puffery. I know that some statements can be. Ours is not. It plainly states what we are and what we do.

As a person who only rarely jumps in to try to improve Wikipedia pages for organizations I am familiar with, I find that it is VERY FRUSTRATING every time I try to make a change. Some editor somewhere with a lot more time on his or her hands swoops in and removes my changes for reasons that rarely make sense to the average person. I get the feeling that only professionals who do this day-in-and-day-out are going to be comfortable going forward. Have fun.
