haie Silar, could you tell why this image is GNUFDL? as it is from the polish government i dont belive, that they put images under GNUFDL. I posted a question as well on Wikipedia talk:Possibly unfree images#Image:Swital.jpg ...Sicherlich Post 07:54, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:NYT 1946 04 18.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Spelling in English[edit]

Hi Silar, please try to be a little more careful with your spelling and grammar in your English language articles. Also, please preview the articles before moving on. I've correct many mistakes, including missing commas, extra spaces between punctuation, and extra "=" signs before/after headings. Also, on articles about towns/villages, please keep the information relavent to an encyclopedia. Thanks, and keep up the good work creating new articles. --CapitalR 07:38, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Swital.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Swital.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Night Gyr 23:33, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:6PSPSambor.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:6PSPSambor.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Image copyright problem with Image:Nafta1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nafta1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hi. Would you know what was the Jewish population number before World War II in this town? This data is probably difficult to obtain, but at least an approximate percentage in relation to the general population? Thanks and happy new year! --Healkids 18:36, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Untagged image[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:Wappen SanokLand.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 13:56, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Tyrawa Wołoska[edit]

Greetings! Could you please clarify what it seems to be a discrepancy of dates, whereas the town was founded only in 1402 but it belonged to Poland since 966? b)Did Peter name it Tyravia or the town had that name already and he renamed to T-W? c)To what country (ies) did the town belong from 1018 to 1340? If you wish, you could reply here and I'll help you write the clarification. Thank you for great contributions. Best!--Healkids 14:58, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation. I made some changes in the article, kindly take a look and make corrections as you see fit. A map of Poland should also be inserted, showing the location of the village in it..we could copy the one that is in the Tyrawa Wołoska Polish article, would you please do it? Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CoATyrawyWoloskiej.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CoATyrawyWoloskiej.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:57, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your photos of Bieszczady have been uploaded to Commons but they don't have informations where they've been taken. I'm cathegorizing the Bieszczady Mountains and I've no idea what to do with the following images:

Are you sure that they were taken in Bieszczady (not Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains for example)? Do you remember what does the first picture show? Please answer at Wikimedia Commons or Polish Wikipedia. --ŁukaszWu (talk) 10:40, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Galicja1881.jpg[edit]

File:Galicja1881.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Galicja1881.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Galicja1881.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. A tag has been placed on File:Rymut.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. June 30 DOY page[edit]

Recently you edited the June 30 DOY page and left the event in a bit of disarray. Please in the future, list each event seperately even if they relate to the same year. Please don't try to group multiple events into one. You listed:

  • 1941 – World War II: Operation Barbarossa – what happened? did it begin, did it end, did they start planning it?
    • – Lviv (Ukraine), as part of the 1st Brandenberg Battalion, the first soldiers of the Nachtigall Battalion entered Lviv; Declaration of Ukrainian Independence by Yaroslav Stetsko of Ukrainian government; first Lviv pogrom;

Perhaps you can take a moment prior to editing to see how the rest of the page is formatted, or if you did do that, perhaps you might try previewing your edit before saving it. Leaving it in the manner you did does mean someone will have to re-edit your edit. Thanks Ken Tholke 05:48, 16 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kentholke (talkcontribs)

Copyright violations[edit]

Will you please stop restoring blatant copyright violations at History of the Germans in Poland? It's bad enough you put them in there in the first play (originally unattributed until I started tagging suspicious looking sentences with cn tags - hence, not just copyright violations, but straight up plagiarism) but restoring them once someone points out that they're copyright violations is gonna land you in trouble pretty quick.

File source problem with File:Satellite image of Nowotaniec.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Satellite image of Nowotaniec.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged.
