Hello and thanks for your reply. I do believe you when you are said that you have no financial interest. Still, the COI policy is not limited to financial gain alone. Of course it is permitted that you contribute on Wikipedia as an expert. However, you should also read and understand the above guidelines. If you generally improve the article, that is fine. If you only promote your own work/subfield or cite your own work, that can be a problem. If you cannot find references that are not your own, that is a sign that you should not make the edit yourself. If your work is widely know, other people will include it, but Wikipedia does not exist to **make** it known, this is not a scientific journal. You can still suggest edits on the discussion page if you think they are central to the article. Averell (talk) 07:40, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
