Hi Alpha Piscis Austrini. Thanks for your input, but I always use my Sandbox. In fact, I write my articles in Word on my computer after I research them, then copy & paste to Sandbox & then to a wikipedia page. I try to be as thorough as possible, and I'm not experimenting. I am new to this & I'm still learning, and I appreciate helpful info. I am writing mostly about African American artists who only lately have been receiving coverage and acknowledgment, so I have to dig deep to find background info on them. Thanks, Sherryleehoward. I understand that. The reference list was...unusual, to say the least, and I think there were also errors in your copy and pasting as well (referring to the edit I reverted back in February). When writing about Black artists, I have to rely extensively on Black newspapers because they were the only ones writing about these artists. In a few cases, white newspapers mentioned them. So my references will never be book/anthology heavy, until you get to the latter part of the 20th century and into the 21st century. btw, can you take a look at an article I just completed on Reba Dickerson-Hill with comments from other wikipediers. Did You Know feature[edit]

Hi Sherryleehoward

I don't create many articles but when I do I always nominate them for a DYK on the main page, as this gets huge numbers of readers (thousands rather than dozens). See my own Talk Page for the templates that the process adds when they get accepted. The nomination process is a bit arcane but I'm very willing to help. New articles have to be nominated within 7 days of their entering Mainspace, so you've got until 18 May for Reba Dickerson-Hill. The place to do the nomination is Template_talk:Did_you_know, so read that carefully and ping me here on your Talk Page if you need assistance. Good luck! Hi Kuru, thank you for your comments. But I'm at a loss because all of the issues you mention have nothing to do with the Reba Dickerson Hill article, which I wrote. It is sourced with verifiable and reliable sources, has no website references, and the facts were checked (that I learned from being a journalist for 30 years). I'm new to wikipedia (i've written about a dozen articles about Black and white artists), and a member of wikimedia in DC reviews all of my articles & this one was approved by her. As you'll see, much of the source info is from Black newspapers because they were the only ones writing about Black artists in the early 20th century. Hi Sherry, the article looks great overall - nice job! Kuru's note is specifically about one of the reference sources (Prabook.com), rather than the article overall. Unfortunately, Prabook isn't a reliable source for use on Wikipedia. Its content is a mix of information scraped from other sources (which often aren't reliable themselves) or contributed by other users (which would be considered user generated content). It looks like the main claim was attributed to Prabook was her education, so hopefully there's another, reliable source that can verify the information.
