Hello Sulfurboy. Could you please move this to User talk:GRALISTAIR's page. Since he didn't know how to submit it the draft for review and I was just helping him out. The draft wasn't written by me and should be credited to him. Thank you. SenatorLEVI 15:01, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse post advising use of "subst:submit" – with no template markup[edit]

Hey SenatorLEVI. Your post at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Question, advises the user to "just insert subst:submit at the top of the page". That, of course, will not work if the user follows it. I don't want to correct another user's post, nor advise below the post that it's incorrect, so it would be good if you fixed this – for example, by modifying your post to say: "just insert {{subst:submit}} at the top of the page"? Please note my use of nowiki tags in the source markup in order to have that display with the curly braces {{ and }}, and not have them invoke the template call. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:31, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fuhghettaboutit, when I instead the curly brackets, the Afc submission template popped up. In other words it was trying to submit the section for Afc. That's why I removed it. SenatorLEVI 02:58, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So you knew your advice was wrong—that if no one else corrected you, the user would be left with thinking they could submit their draft with "subst:submit"—and you left that up until I explained how to add nowiki tags here? I'm sorry but that's really concerning. You could have explained it in prose. You could have removed your post – any number of things, but the one thing you don't do is leave advice in place you know it's wrong, inviting a Teahouse questioner to follow it, sure to be frustrated when it doesn't work.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 05:51, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Fuhghettaboutit, my reply is pretty late but I think its best I don't answer questions at the Teahouse for a while until I get more familiar with Wikipedia. Thank you for your time. SenatorLEVI 05:59, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Affinity Federal Credit Union has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to meet WP:NORG guidelines for notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Disambiguation link notification for February 23[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Affinity Federal Credit Union, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page New York. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:14, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

AFCU cats[edit]

Hi — I noticed you reverted my removal of the USA as a category in the above article, on the basis that the organisation "comes under United States". By that logic, every company, person, building, geographical feature, etc. should be listed in that category. Have you looked at how many articles actually are listed there? Four: United States, the US portal, someone's sandbox (erroneously), and now also Affinity Federal Credit Union. I'm going to remove that cat (again), and I would appreciate if you didn't revert it (again) without at least discussing. Thanks, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:37, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. SenatorLEVI 10:19, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unintended consequences[edit][edit]

Hello, I answered your question at the Teahouse. I placed the Afc review template at the top of your draft. Unknown to me, the draft was immediately accepted. However the succesful move of the draft to the article was left on my talk page instead of yours (since all the work on the draft was done by you). I apologize for the inconvenience caused. I have asked the Afc reviewer to move the message to your talk page, as it should be. I hope you'll excuse this. Thank you. SenatorLEVI 15:10, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Did it every get resolved? GRALISTAIR (talk) 20:42, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello GRALISTAIR, I left a message on the talk page of the Afc reviewer who accepted it, however he didn't reply. So I don't think it has been resolved. SenatorLEVI 02:44, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GRALISTAIR Can you message the actual AFC Reviewer for your article? If I could move the AFC tag to your talk page to credit you I would, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to. Maybe you could mention it in the articles talk page? And link my talk page for proof. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. SenatorLEVI 03:04, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
